This store is my default Walgreens and closest to my home.   I've used it regularly over the years mainly for photo prints and always when there's a photo promo. It's an ok store and the employees have all been fine.  Every now and then they forget to crop the edge of the photo paper so I always check my orders before leaving.  All Walgreens have a great Senior's Day promo (for age 55+) which is 20% off on everything (except food and liquor) on the first Tuesday of every month.   That's a good once-per-month deal.   I've found the lines can come and go in waves here.  An Indian lady named Roshni is often the cashier up front when I visit and she is quite courteous and efficient.  We don't usually buy anything here unless it's an emergency or it's on sale as their prices are generally highish.  I haven't used the pharmacy much as we use mail order but when we have it's been a routine experience.   I haven't used their pharmacy drive through.   Their parking lot is convenient and is located by a light so it's a quick and safe exit back out to Miner St.  Walgreens is going private so we'll see what if anything that means for us consumers in the upcoming months. read more

Today was a pleasant surprise! I went in to pick up a refill and was promptly greeted by Joanne. Huge and pleasant experience after our initial visit. With 3 people behind the counter and several customers waiting they showed no interest in taking care of customers and would rather stock shelves then tend to people that were there. That was before. The pharmacy has terrible service. It took two weeks and several phone calls for them to tell me I would have to wait more days to get a prescription I take daily. They asked me if I had access to a car to travel to another Walgreens if they could find it in stock. I told them I was very upset but I would wait. Later I received a message my prescription was in Deerfield to be picked up. They really upset me and I will avoid this store for everything. I will be moving my family's prescriptions to a different pharmacy. read more

This is an ongoing theme at this location and any other locations. How could you wait 30 minutes with three cars in the drive-through to pick up a prescription? Clearly they're cutting back on staff. read more

Well, this is a Walgreens, so I'm not sure what a five star (or one star) review would really entail. But I'll take a shot: I regularly see two of their pharmacists and they are always friendly and helpful. They've recommended ways to save a few dollars and are never short or rushed with me. I'm sure they see a zillion people a week, but they always say hello by name and are friendly/professional. Otherwise, a typical Walgreens generally. They did remodel inside so it's a bit more open with less space taken up by their old camera area. It's also good if you need a last minute seasonal item (read: Halloween candy because you've mis-estimated AGAIN) and quick to get in and out. They also have web pick up (has anyone used that?). It does have a drive through for the pharmacy, but most of the time I'd rather go in, check out a few things and claim five minutes of exercise. read more

An update...it seems if the folks here are getting less and less friendly over the years, and I'm talking both of the pharmacists and the general store clerks/associates. What got me a bit teed off today is the gentleman I just got off the phone with who seemed to be more interested in closing the phone call than get what I needed done, which is checking on and cleaning up my insurance file, which is full of old insurance references. He did allegedly clean up my file, and maybe will get my prescription released, but we'll see. I thought I may have to leave Walgreens for a cheaper provider - now I have another unfortunate reason: unfriendly employees. -1 star penalty for rudeness. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I suffer from sinusitis and was out of my nasal spray which you can get over the counter. I had my baby with me and did not think it was a good idea to bring her into the store during this pandemic so I called the pharmacy and asked if they would sell me the nasal spray if I would come by the drive trough window. The nice man said yes of course not a problem and asked which one I needed so he could have it ready for me at the drive trough. Thank you for being so nice and understanding. Even though this was not his job or problem and I would have had to come in and purchase the spray they went out to the floor and got it for me so I wouldn't have to go in myself. Thank you again. This is specifically for the pharmacy. I have been shorted on my meds at least 3 times. I moved to the area last year and started using this location. I occasionally use a medication for anxiety and bc I don't use it daily, I probably failed to notice shortage sooner. The 2nd time I realized I was short I called and spoke to the manager of the store and the pharmacy manager. As another gentleman down below said, they made me feel like I was trying to con them out of medication. They told me that the medication was counted twice and if I want, to the start counting the medication at the counter, which I did for a while. Then I got too confidant and stopped counting. I have fibromyalgia and have injuries from car accident. At first I tried to manage pain with ibuprofen and acetaminophen, until I developed hives from misuse. Now that I'm actually in the pain management routine I usually have no problem. But this is the 3rd time I am shorted on my pain relief medication. I now have 5 days left till I can refill my medication for pain meds, which means I was shorted at least 15 pills of a controlled substance. I even bought a weekly pill container because of this pharmacy making me doubt my sanity. I am taking advil and acetaminophen trying to control the pain and guess what? My hives are back. No one does this to themselves on purpose. The picture shows one of my hands. After seeing Shawn's review, I realize this isn't just my problem. It's a pharmacy problem and they need to figure out what's going on with it's staff. I been a Walgreens' pharmacy customer for over 25 years. They can see my records. I often go past my refill date for medication. I've never had a problem until going to this location! Lesson learned. I'm switching locations. read more

I agree with all others for the service and attitude of the entitled customer service people who get all fluffed up when to ask a question where what is an item! Worst is when at checkout is being rushed rung up and bags pushed so those behind me can get the same thing! Hardly have time to put my purchase in my cart without a huff and puff hint to move on! People in general are rude nowadays but when it comes to a cashier they are usual headon rude and disrespectful! I'm aiming this for sure to be the one on miner street in Des plaines IL! Had to call it quits with the errors of the pharmacy and those walking around behind the pharmacist adds confusion to deliver not get an RX delivered and worst of all had an RX not mine or wrong RX X 3 filled again! I now go to a different pharmacy not far from me but not one I coulda shoulda walked to Walgreens why I even moved in the area for one around the block from me! I'm in a lot of pain with a burst ear drum and ear infection. I asked the pharmacist to fill a painkiller and antibiotic as soon as possible. She told me to come back in 15-20. This was at 1:15. At 1:30, I'm waiting in line at the drive through and when it's finally my turn, a shade is pulled down over window. Sign says " pharmacy breaks for lunch from 1:30-2:00." Everyone needs a lunch break but they could've at least factored that in when they told me to return in 15. read more

So, I come to this Walgreens regularly since I pass it a lot. Stopped here once again to pick up some stuff for my sister who is out of the country and can't get what she wants where she is- anyway, I parked along the building this time and right in front of the sign that says they tow anyone who is not a customer. No problem but what completely put me off is the tow company they're working with. Lincoln Towing, aka some of the most despicable human beings. Lincoln Towing is all the way in Chicago! Really Walgreens you couldn't find another tow company that is perhaps closer? Why them? Every other business in these suburbs uses Red Towing. Makes me worried that the Lincoln Park Pirates are making their way to the suburbs. Makes me wonder how much they are paying Walgreens for the privilege to tow cars off their lot. For that reason and that reason only I am giving this Walgreens one star and I will no longer shop here and instead go to the CVS down the road near the intersection with Potter road. read more

I want to commend an employee named Nick tonight. He was very helpful to me, he reminded me of my Walgreens rewards card in my wallet and was very polite to me. I made my purchase and he handed me my receipt. Then, I went with my Fiancé off to the Des Plaines Public Library and thought I had everything. But, when Robert and I reached the Fourth Floor and were about to go on computers, I found that my purchase was indeed missing. So, we walked all the way back to the Walgreens tonight and Nick had found my package that I had dropped out in the parking lot and again nicely and politely handed me my much needed package. I hope that Nick is commended by his Store manager for his service and receives a raise in pay. I would definitely recommend Walgreens and Nick. read more

So, I needed to make a Christmas Eve emergency purchase and Walgreens was said to be open until 12am by their in store recording... I even stopped at the store but the doors where locked even though the lights where all on and I see employees working! I call again and wait until they answer. I ask them if they are open and the girl tells me they are closed at 10p. I tell her about the recording and she says "ooh.. It's still saying that?.. I'll have to tell the manager. Sorry.." She did seem disappointed but I'm going to go in the next day they are open and ask to talk to a manager and ask for store hours on Christmas Eve.. Not everyone has decent work schedules so I was very excited to hear they where open. :( I just hope I can find a store that is open on Christmas. read more

Beware of this pharmacy! On two separate occasions my girlfriends prescription of Norco pain killers has come up short. The first time it was a 120 pill prescription and the skimmed 10 . She made a complaint and called the pharmacy only to be treated like an incompetent person who can't count or a lying drug addict. They were horrible in the way they treated her and the accusations they made over Their mistake. They refused to acknowledge that someone on their pharmacy staff was skimming pills or even investigate. The recounted all the norco in pharmacy and claimed none are missing. Well of course none are missing. This pharmacist or tech didn't steal from Walgreens but rather skimmed an already dispensed prescription. A count was useless. The fact that they tried to recount as a means of proof of innocence shows their guilt. They knew they had a thief in their midst and did nothing. Seeing as how my girlfriend does not drive and is disabled that's the reason for the pain meds she has bad back issues she decided to continue using the pharmacy thinking that calling it out they would at least internally take care of things and fix it. She counted her pills at the window for months with 100% success until one time she was in a hurry and she forgot to count them. That was the second time they screwed her. She had 150 Narcos in her prescription and when she got home she discovered the 20 were missing. In fact they gave her the same size bottle as they give you for the 120 so it was physically impossible for 150 to even fit in the bottle. She confronted the pharmacist she even made a scene call the police and even filed a complaint with the federal agency with no success. Corporate Walgreens did nothing either. They hide the fact that they have a pharmacist or pharmacist tech who is skimming prescriptions. Whoever it is skims large prescriptions and I would presume prescriptions from old people who will not notice for weeks or may not notice ever. By the time they run out and realize they're short they think it's their fault so they just suffer in pain all because Walgreens will not fire the fifth. Be wary of this pharmacy. Customer service is horrible when you complain to them and they make you feel like you're the thief or degenerate for suggesting that the count is off and would rather point the finger at you like you are the culprit. Go anywhere but here. read more

4/5 stars because the staff was very friendly. Would have given this store 5/5, but one of my items didn't ring up at its listed 'closeout' price---so I ended up paying almost $5 for the item when the sign read $2.50. Boo. Walgreens is notorious for pricing errors, so I'm sure it wasn't this particular store's fault. They also have a small assortment of fresh flowers when you walk in the front door; not sure if it's there all of the time, but I wish I had known this before making a separate trip to Jewel. Convenient location if you're in/around the downtown area. Huge parking lot. read more

I was actually shocked at the low score reviews at this Walgreens. For me, it is my favorite one and the only one I will go to if I can help it. Admittedly, I don't frequent the pharmacy but did get a flu shot there and they were very nice. The store staff is pretty much always the same so that says a lot about management. It is not a revolving-door atmosphere where people hate their work environment. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and always recognizes their regular customers. read more

I think I stop on this Walgreens like once a week! The people at the checkout are nice and have normal social skills. The photo department is fast and accurate. If I can't find something the stock guy is sweet and helpful. BUT- I don't usually fill my prescriptions here. The pharmacy people are not so nice, and not so helpful and sometimes actually rude. My school insurance does not work during summer. I didn't believe my physician when I was told to check prices for medication in several pharmacies before dropping off prescriptions. They asked me to pay over $430 for a small tube of GENERIC steroid. I called back my Doctors office immediately for help. They told me to download GoodRx on my phone find my medication and corresponding coupon. I paid only $24.00! I still do not understand why pharmacies are so greedy in a first place. read more

They recently renovated this location and added a third register up front. Somehow, the lines are even longer now. I wish whoever was running this store would put at least TWO people on the registers a majority of the time, especially when a train has just arrived. This seems like a busier-than-normal Walgreen's, and most customers are not buying just one of two things but several items. They're also the type that need to see the manager because an item didn't ring up with the sale price, thereby backing up the line even more. I was in a long line behind such customers the other day with just one person working the registers. Someone was working on a passport? photo and two other workers were gabbing while restocking the shelves. I wish the employees would be more cognizant of the line. Also, I think this location is missing out on $$$ from commuters by not being open at 6 or 7 a.m. read more
