I want to start off saying I like this Walgreens-- been going here for years and never had an issue-- employees are great. But I had a scary experience in the parking lot today that will make me steer clear. I visited Walgreens today to buy stamps and put some pieces of mail in the box across the street. Total time away from my car was 5-10 mins. When I returned to my vehicle, a uniformed man in an unmarked car told me he had put a boot on my car and I would have to pay him $170 to leave. I was confused and explained that I was a Walgreens customer. He became very aggressive, asking me if i could read, and said the signs said customers could not step outside of the boundaries of the lot. He said Walgreens didn't own the lot, and it didn't matter if I was a customer. He said his name was Shawn but refused to show me his badge (he had it flipped against his chest.) Frankly, I was terrified and paid the fine just to get out of there. I totally understand Walgreens needs to monitor their lot. But I'm sad/surprised at the scary tactics of their parking lot enforcement-- this is no way to treat customers. read more

The manager is very kind, and goes out of her way to assist. She went as far as to contact the pharmacist after hours when they kept a script of mine. She was kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. The location is convenient to @Aayu Lakeview Immediate Care near Lincoln & Paulina; it is also adjacent to the Brown line with Starbucks nearby (double score). They get you in and out quickly! My only suggestion is for the pharmacy to be open later. read more

Pharmacy: Not just Alger, but everyone: Professional, goes the extra mile, spent time helping me accumulate enough of the dosage as the manufacturer is not pushing out as much as the demand. I'm just now looking at 3 bottles of what, ideally, could have been one 90 day supply. My doctor is precise on dosage so to make it work I need 19 tablets (2 days have less dosage). Complicated? Yes, especially when the manufacturer is not able to keep up with the demand. In the past I've traveled to several Walgreens and CVS stores to keep up with this supply. This particular pharmacy has assured me I'm not a burden; and they are very receptive as I call in every 2 - 3 weeks to keep up with my dosage. Lots of math to confirm they are filling the correct amount in the 90 days. THANK YOU!!! read more

This is a review of the pharmacy. Not sure how much of their issues are due to understaffing ... and who makes those decisions Wow, they are so slow pretty much all the time. I dread going there almost more than the reason I need meds in the first place (my insurance "forces" me to Walgreens. Not sure what corporate thinks is an acceptable time to wait for pain med when you just had a tooth extraction ... based on my previous experiences ... I know how long I waited ... I went to Jewel and paid out of pocket. Done in 5 mins, the $30 vs $5 was well spent. One suggestion - customers in line, ALREADY THERE AND WAITING while the drive through is empty ... should take priority over someone that just pulls up in the drive through. Just because someone is in a car doesn't me they skip to the front of a line. Yes, I had an associate tell me "just a minute" at the counter as they went over to help someone who just drove up. horrible experience here. Went to drive thru window to pick up birth control. Easy, right? Been taking the same generic version for over a year now. every month i get the same thing. the guy comes to the window. (I wish i got his name but by the end of this i was so upset I forgot). and hands me the non-generic prescription (costs $75 instead of $25). I pay for it and then realize that it was $75 not the normal $25 and then realize they gave me the regular version. I buzz and say, "i've been taking the generic version" can i return this and get that instead. He says nothing. walks away and comes back like 10 minutes later. Mind you i am waiting in my idling car this whole time... and says "There is no generic version of this." I explain that i've been taking it, that your pharmacy has been giving it to me for over a year, etc, etc...I need to return this expensive version and get the generic. He walks away and sends a manager over to process the return. And the manager leaves. Now i am still sitting in the car, not sure what is going on. I've been waiting all together about 15 minutes at this point. I ring the bell again. the original guy comes back (not the manager) and i say, "i still need the generic one" he says they never made such a thing and he can't help me. Now i start to get a little freaked out. What pill have i been taking the last year that this pharmacy has given me that wasn't the generic version of what i was supposed to have??!! what the heck! i ask him, "what have i been taking the last year" and his response is "i don't know". Scary, b/c i put this in my body every day...Then he says, "you don't know what your talking about there is NO generic version" and simply walks away and never comes back to the window. at this point (about 25 minutes waiting in the car) i get out and go into the pharmacy. i'm frustrated, confused and without my prescription. The manager and pharmacy head apologize profusely when i go in and say the other guy didn't know but they DISCO'd the generic version, that i have to go back to regular. Fine. No problem. I paid the $75 and got out - But 40 minutes, horrible customer service and lack of the correct information. These people take care of giving us drugs that can really cause havoc on your body if not given properly, etc. To be SO misinformed working at a Pharmacy is NOT acceptable. read more

Two things: 1. Prices are out of whack on consumer items. I bought a product here. Then went to cvs next to work and saw the same product 25% cheaper. 2. Pharmacy was told that our child wouldn't take medication unless it was flavored. $750 prescription for antibiotic that used to have a generic--where is the attorney general who can enforce US Code 15.1 plus racketeering?--pharmacist mixed and we payed our copay since we blew through our deductible in this hyper corrupt healthcare system. Then pharmacist said they couldn't flavor. We are out the money and our child won't take the medicine. Thanks for way less than nothing!!!! read more

An update on my initial review -- I wrote to Walgreens corporate explaining the situation around our car being towed from the store parking lot and the store manager, John, called me to resolve the matter. He was very responsive and understanding of the situation and explained that in the future, if we have errands to run in the area in addition to going to Walgreens, we can come inside the store and let them know which car is ours, where we'll be going and how long we'll be. That way they won't tow the car. Apparently this has happened to other customers before so if you're going to combine errands and leave your car at Walgreens, please let the store know so you don't have the same issue we did. John's responsiveness made all the difference for us so I'm updating the rating to 3-stars. read more

This Walgreens has some of the most unprofessional, rude, and incapable employees I have ever experienced. On multiple occasions, employees are talking at the register, making the line of people ready to check out wait. Also on several occasions, I have had employees (without saying a word) bag my items, then walk away, so I have to reach around the counter and grab the items and receipt myself. I guess I got spoiled with the great customer service the Walgreens at Broadway/Belmont has. I wish that the company ensured all stores provided the same service. read more

The drive through for prescriptions takes way too long. Every time I go, they say they will be right with you, and then it takes at least 5 min for anyone to come to the window. Go somewhere else. read more

The pharmacy is AWFUL. If you don't physically remain in the store and wait for your prescription to be filled, they simply won't do it. The pharmacists act like they are doing you a favor by filling your prescription and don't hesitate to roll their eyes when you express frustration. The rest of the store's staff is very friendly, efficient and helpful so it's confusing what went wrong with the pharmacy department. read more

Just walked in (3/03/2020 at 5:40 pm) to get the advertised Scott toilet paper deal. I grabbed the toilet paper and went to the register to check out. I handed the cashier the Walgreens coupon book to scan the $1.25 off coupon and then put my phone number in to get the additional $1 off. I ask the cashier if the extra $1 coupon came off and she literally starts to go on saying why another coupon would be added. So I tell her that on the front page of the Walgreens paper this week, is the advertised deal of the toilet paper. She then goes on to tell me that I must have the WRONG product from my coupon on my phone. LADY! Are you freaking kidding me?! It's literally advertised on the front page of the Walgreens weekly paper this week! Just scan the damn coupon, give me my $1 off for the product that matches the coupon (I know this because there are only 2 Scott toilet paper products in the store and I grabbed the lesser count which matched the coupon). She made things so difficult and then tried to blame it on me saying "I had the wrong product". Educate your employees on the sales your having, jeez. I know for a fact I was not the only one who came and did this Scott toilet paper deal. She proceeded to tell me that coupons from the app (with my phone number, which I put in) are loaded automatically or something like that. And I was confused because I already knew that and didn't understand why this was so complicated... it's listed in your paper that it requires two coupons... so why are you telling me you don't know what other coupon I'm talking about..... like what? Just went in to buy some toilet paper and was standing in the check out lane for like 5 minutes. Please educate your employees on how to preform transactions that Walgreens advertises! read more

It's a terrific location, on the S/E corner of Belmont & Paulina, where I purchased the little items I need daily. Items like gum, candy, snacks, energy drinks, iced tea, and so on. Seemingly, I always find what I'm looking for at Walgreens as they setup all their stores pretty much the same way. Don't go to this store ever! It was one of my worst experiences. Walgreens hired a company, Innovative Parking Solutions, probably to make sure that their customers have a parking spot when they get there. The problem is that the company is nasty and is set up to make money by fucking customers. I was a regular customer and I ran across the street to get an ice cream. As there was no line, the whole operation took approximately 4 minutes. By the time I got back, my car was booted. The guy was hiding, waiting for me to leave the lot, then quickly ran over and put the boot on. As I found out from this poor slave working there, that if he warned me he would have lost his job. There was nothing to do, no monthly payment, no appeal, nothing. If you don't pay, the car is towed and costs additional $$, plus some more per day. As you see, I am not debating the possible purpose, but the methods. I have this interesting thing about me: I like to be treated as a human. I have to say, when I think of Walgreens, I cringe and I can't think of any positive at all. If a company is doing business with such scumbags, there is nothing good to hope from them either. Too bad, I used to like them. But after this, no thank you. No more Walgreens. It is not worth it. read more

I arrived to Walgreens pharmacy at 8:45 am so I could be first in line for my prescription when the pharmacy opened at 9 am. To my dismay, the pharmacist arrived at 9:08 with a McDonald's bag and a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee in his hand. With a severe infection after being treated by emergency services the night prior, I was in dire need of my prescription. The pharmacist rudely stated to me after being late to open the store "I don't know what to tell you. I have 22 other prescriptions to worry about and I will NOT tell you when your prescription is ready!" This man has terrible customer service. I've had several bad experiences at this walgreens. Today I was left waiting at the drive through for 10 minutes before deciding to go inside. Last time I waited at the drive through for 20 minutes, but at least that time I had updates. A different time I asked to have a prescription refilled, 2 days later I went to pick it up and I was told that they didn't have my medication, they ordered it and it would be there on Monday (this was Thursday). I would run out the next day. What is bad about this customer service is that no one called or emailed me to notify me that it was not available, better yet, they should have told me that it was available at the Walgreens half a mile down the street. Everyone is friendly and apologetic, however the bad customer service could have been avoided with better communication with the customer. Don't leave someone waiting at the drive through window for 10 or 20+ minutes without communication. And if a refill needs to be ordered that won't be in for 5 days, notify the customer and let them know other options where they can get their medication. Seriously, when I rang the button at the drive through, someone told me they'll be right with me and 10 minutes later, no one came. read more

Really like this Walgreens. The pharmacy staff is really friendly. I went in to pickup a prescription in order to find out my doctor had sent it to another Walgreens. I really needed this medication and the technician (male, wears glasses, beard) transferred the medicine there in less than 10 minutes. Then when I realized I was short $3 he pulled out his own wallet to pay the balance. I came in the next day to pay him back, but will never forget this act of generosity read more
