Avoid this Pharmacy if you can. The Pharmacy has the worst team I have ever experienced. Missed prescriptions. Lost items etc.. Then I Showed up for an scheduled appointment and they turned me away from my scheduled time saying they did not have any vaccines. I Left and went to a Walgreens down by Humboldt park., and the Pharmacist there got irate when I told him I had an appointment at the one on Fullerton but they could not do it, and heard him complain in the back to someone saying that it is not true he sends out the stock to that store and they just got another Delivery this morning. Then two of our friends had an identical issue. It's an obvious problem for this location the pharmacy does not run like other walgreens we have ever used and its pretty bad. read more

This review is for the pharmacy only. I take medication that needs to be ordered bimonthly. It's annoying to get, crazy expensive, and not kept in stock anywhere. Mickey - the pharmacist - is always on top of this for me. Even when I forget to call and refill, he's got my back. He also reminds me when I forget to refill my other meds or to pay my insurance bill. He's great. This Walgreens pharmacy is also like trilingual (English polish Spanish) and their staff is very helpful with questions etc. Thanks for keeping me healthy, Mickey and team! read more

Epic wait times for the pharmacy. You used to be able to drop off your prescription in a separate line (drop offs are fast). Now you have to wait in the same painfully slow line to drop off your prescription and then again when you go to pick it up. There is also not enough parking. There are other pharmacies that are more considerate of your time. read more

A Walgreens is a Walgreens...not much to review about it as a store, per se...you go to the one that's most convenient to you, right? But the PHARMACY is another story. We've been going to this Walgreens since it opened because it's the most convenient to us. The customer-service at this pharmacy has certainly left a lot to be desired but, since we don't rely on a lot of prescription meds. in this family, the convenience of the location has outweighed such shortcomings...until recently. My 2 y.o. son and I have just been diagnosed with Strep and have both been prescribed penicillin. Having come straight to the pharmacy from the doctor, we're both exhausted and miserable. I just want to drop off the 'scripts. and go home...the husband will pick them up later. There are 3 other customers waiting in line at the Drop-off window when we get in line, but no sign of a pharmacist. We wait 5 mins...still no sign of a pharmacist. I walk down to the pick-up window, lean my head in to see one woman processing a 'script. and ask if there is anyone taking new orders in the drop-off window. She practically bites my head off "I'll get to you when I'm done with another customer!". Well, at least she knows there are people waiting now. 5 minutes later NO ONE in the drop-off line has even been acknowledged. My son is getting impatient and starting to fuss. I blow off our place in line to get the other things we need in the store in hopes that by the time we're done the line will have gone down. It has - there's one other person there getting served. Upon finishing with him, she looks at us and walks away. 2 minutes pass...3...4...now my son is crying. "Excuse me," I say, laying the 'scripts. on the counter, "can I just leave these here to be filled? I really need to get him home". I mean, come on! He's got snot streaming down his face, he's coughing like crazy, crying...and I clearly don't look so good either. AT LEAST give me some acknowledgment...tell me how soon it'll be before you can get to me...but don't just fucking IGNORE me. She FINALLY gets to us, then proceeds to take her time getting us processed...all the while my kid is crying. After registering him in the system, taking his insurance info., asking us a series of questions about him, she leaves us standing there for a full minute before looking up at us from her computer "Uh...you can GO now" in the snottiest tone ever. Now, 2 days later, after emerging from my strep-induced haze of illness I come to realize that she KEPT my son's insurance card. So after vowing to never go back there again for ANYTHING pharmacy-related I have to to go track THAT down. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER in an industry that really should pride itself on customer service. Not to mention SO unbelievably irritating. UPDATE 11/17: Called the about the insurance card...they CAN'T FIND IT!!! And, apparently, I was not the only customer who lost their card that day...AND got complaint-worthy "service". Never again! UPDATE 11/21: I sent in a complaint via email to the Walgreens company about this experience along with a link to this review. I've since received phone calls from 2 different supervisory levels at Walgreens apologizing profusely for this experience. They've offered to call my insurance company for me to request a replacement card for the one they lost. Both of the gentlemen I spoke with were genuinely apologetic and very kind. The location manager offered to send a gift card to try and make up for the trouble. The corporate manager has assured me that the pharmacy employee we dealt with that day would be appropriately disciplined. I have upped the rating from 1 to 3 stars because of their efforts in trying to rectify this situation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE 12/13/07 Mike Wiener, the Pharmacy supervisor at Walgreen's corporate office went through my insurance company's red tape for me to get me a replacement insurance card for my son. The pharmacy manager at this location, Sunil Bagai, sent a very nice letter to me apologizing for our treatment that day. He also sent a $20 Walgreens gift card to try and make up for the trouble. I've very much appreciated all efforts that have been made to try and right the wrongs that occurred that day and am truly happy to see that there are still people out there that value the concept of good customer service. I'm upping the rating another star because of this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ UPDATE 2/24/08 Jesus H Christ they just CANNOT get their shit together over there! Had a 'script called in by my doctor, went in 24 hours later to pick it up: "it's not ready yet. have a seat" "but my doctor called it in 24 hours ago. This Walgreens distinguishes itself through the friendly and helpful staff, especially in the pharmacy. I'd stopped using another nearby Walgreens for my prescriptions after getting treated like a junkie for trying to refill something a day or two "early" (I was going out of town), and was somewhat trepidacious about going back to one, but had nothing to worry about. A good place to pick up your pills if you're not closer to a 24 hour location. read more

Visited today it was nicely stocked, but at time of check out there were two registers open but they were saying there was one line and the ladies at register were nice but all they were doing it was watching each other to see who takes care of next customer, i've never seen one line for two open registers . Pharmacy is poorly staffed. Don't bother calling- you'll stay on hold for 15 minutes +. All the times trying to reach them it was quicker going in and waiting in line while being on hold. No urgency or desire to answer phone calls. read more

Last Friday the security guard falsely accused me of shoplifting while I had my sick baby son in the stroller and was trying to buy him a thermometer. The day-time pharmacist (a Japanese man) will not answer the phone. One receives an automated system, and then one listens to music, and nobody will come to the phone. Putting it mildly, one cannot call during the day with an inquiry. I had oustanding service from my old Walgreen's (Division and Dearborn), but moved. It took months for this pharmacist to set the system so that i would recieve e-mails when my scripts are ready. This man should be terminated. read more
