Take days and days and days to fill very popular non controlled over-prescribed meds that most pharmacies carry a crap ton of and it's super expensive. Also this location I spent over $600 in one night on beauty products but the beauty center thing the Indian lady flipped tf out on me like a psycho because I used less than a pin drop amount of a $7 foundation I was going to originally buy but her flipping out like a psycho threatening that I buy it made me throw it back and walk away. She also kept talking over me and didn't let me talk. Rude. Also why are you working the beauty section if you won't even help? Do your job then and I won't have to color match myself jeez. Also, when I spent $20 on a gel moisturizer I bought that was in a sealed container in a sealed box somehow was completely empty and sealed on tight with like superglue and I brought it home and opened it and there was no gel inside. Some people just complaints , but respect the worker inside , they cant rush on medicine or any other drugs , it is big responsibility for them and it does take time . Put in my request for a refill 3 days ago. It never got filled, and I ran out yesterday, so I came in this morning to ask. He seemed dumbfounded at the idea of a patient wanting their medicine and said they were planning on filling it by Monday. But of course he could do it by 1:30 today if I wanted him to. If you could have filled it all along, why didn't you? Why? Would? I? Want? You? To? Wait? I only had a tiny window to pick it up at 5 pm. Of course, it wasn't ready like he said it would be. I called to ask why, was left on hold for 15 minutes, and then hung up on without ever talking to anyone. I mentioned that when I finally got someone on the phone, and he had the audacity to say "well I don't remember that happening." I now can't get the medicine until Monday and will be off it until then. They're literally a detriment to the health of patients here. Avoid at all costs. read more

Wort drive thru pharmacy, it takes 30 min to get your prescription even you the only one in line

I placed an order por pickup for toilet paper and paper towels and I went to the store to pick up at the counter at 2:00 am. No one was at the counter when I arrived, there was a white lady in the aisle doing who knows what on her phone and a lady Gina who came from the drink aisle. I told the employee that I had a pickup for Edgar and she didn't respond. I then told Gina who came over, the same thing. The white lady employee then proceeded to yell "you can't wait to be helped" and I responded "well you looked busy" then she proceeded to tell Gina "can you help him I don't want to take care of him" horrible customer service and attitude at this location. I hate that this is the only open location after I get off work. I felt mistreated here, I deserve an apology. I want the store manager to write this employee up and have a talk with her. read more

I arrived today at around 1:30 and was the only person waiting at the counter. After waiting 5 minutes I made eye contact with the lead pharmacist, a female, and the two assistants. The lead pharmacist was busy drinking her coffee from her blue tumbler. She said they were busy and would get to me soon. I waited another two minutes and decided to leave. I'm only giving Walgreens a 3 star rating because they are so close to my house. They are again moving things around and think it's acceptable to bury certain products behind piles of new products that they're moving into different spaces periodifferent spaces. This is a fire hazard as well as very inconvenient for anybody to buy those items that are buried behind the other I'm the other items. I just spent 5 hours in the ER with my infant son, who has a high fever. They gave me a script for Tylenol suppositories because he vomits anything orally. I brought the script to Walgreens at 11:15pm asking when I can pick up. They told me not until 10am the next morning! I told them I have a baby with a fever, and can't they get it to me sooner? I'm then told I can pick it up between 8:30 and 9am the next day. !!! What is the point of having a 24-hour pharmacy if I can't get my prescription until 10+ hours later?! Their systems create a horrible user experience. Auto refills get changed back to NOT auto refill, then I'm stuck waiting for my refill. When I place an order in the app, it'll say it's submitted, and then when I check back in 1-2 days, it's mysteriously gone. When my doctor calls in a prescription, there is typically a delay or some other issue unless I call and talk to a person directly. And when you call the store, you're routed to a call center instead of the store, so you have to explain your question to that person for them to send you to the store pharmacy like you wanted to reach in the first place. Then you're on hold for a long time and end up being disconnected. The staff is usually very nice (hence the 2 stars instead of 1) but they're having to deal with these crap systems too, and then cranky customers on top of it - so nothing against them! But seriously Walgreens, your user experience is horrible. I'm transferring my prescriptions elsewhere. read more

Ugh. I needed a flu shot and since the CVS didn't have any, I went here. I scheduled an appointment online and got there 10 minutes ahead of time. Then I had to wait in line at the pharmacy to check in. By then it was after my appointment time. The pharmacy tech who checked me in was nice but then I had to wait again. After 15 minutes of working to avoid all the sick people there, I finally got my shot. Note that the flu shots are through the pharmacy not through the Advocate clinic. What's the point of making an appointment if the service provider doesn't honor the time? read more

The pharmacy at this location has got to be the absolute worst. They have a drive-through for a reason, but it seems it's never operational. There's always an issue with the speaker or something else where as a result you have to go into the store instead. They have one person working at the counter and 25 people in line. Sometimes you wait for 30-45 minutes in line to pick up your prescription. The staff is not compassionate and they don't seem to really care either. It's almost as if it's a chore for them to be there working there. There's absolutely no sense of urgency and they certainly don't go above and beyond to help you. This is the worst Walgreens I have ever been to. So many bad experiences over the last few years. Being in my mid 30's I've been denied the ability to make an alcohol purchase because my pre-teen son was with me. Thanks for assuming I would give him alcohol. My adult nephew was not allowed to pick up his prescription, he was accused of having a fake ID. His uncle had to come in with him and confirm that was his ID, because some one would use a fake ID to get thyroid medication, right? I once witnessed an employee accuse a customer of opening a make-up package. It was already opened, I had just walked past it. Recently I had to switch my prescriptions to their pharmacy because of a change in my insurance. Each time it's at least a 20-30 minute wait in line, in the drive-thru or inside. This review is solely for the pharmacy. This has been my family's pharmacy for the past 10 years as it is minutes from my work. Up until the past year, I have been satisfied with the pharmacy, but since COVID, this pharmacy's customer service has drastically declined. If it wasn't for the convenience of being in my way home from work, I would transfer to a different pharmacy. The cons: *Long wait lines to pick up, to inquire about, or to place a prescription. It doesn't matter if you are inside at the counter or at the drive thru, it takes FOREVER!!! *Counterpersons inside cannot multitask prescriptions. I have stood next in line as I witness the cashier unable to answer the customer's question. The pharmacist is busy so the cashier waits... instead, the cashier should tell the customer the pharmacist will be with them and jump onto another cash register to assist the next customer in line. *The wait time is at least 7 minutes per customer. It takes them at least 7 minutes to check the computer for the prescription, to go look for it in the shelf, to ring it up, to ask for the address and insurance info, etc. More, if you are in the drive thru. 2 cars or customers in line??? Do you have 20 minutes to wait?? Can you stand that long inside? Because I have bad hips, I prefer to use the drive thru where I can sit in my car. From personal experience, the drive thru is always backed up after 4:30. Try to go earlier in the day or after 8:00 pm. In order to avoid the slow as molasses service. *Tellers appear to be dissatisfied with their job. They need to greet each customer with a smile...even if the mask is covering it. We can hear it in your voice and see it with your eyes. Cheerfulness goes a long ways to make a long wait more bearable. *THE PHONE SYSTEM IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE: First, the lengthy automated phone service wastes so much of my time. It used to be that you could hit a number to bypass the intro, but not anymore. Just give me a number to connect to the automated refill line. Once there, refilling a prescription is easy IF you have a prescription number AND you still have refills available. Second, if you DO NOT have the prescription # OR you no longer have refills available, the automated system will connect you to the pharmacist. Where you will sit and listen to the repetitive message "we are sorry to keep you waiting, but all of our staff are assisting other customers. We will be with you shortly. There are ___ callers ahead of you." Once it gets down to 1 caller ahead of you, you will eventually get either a ringing or what sounds like the call being answered then put on hold again. Two minutes later, you'll get a busy signal. Just to test my patience, I decided today to see what happens if I immediately called again tried to speak with a pharmacist (because I have nothing better to do with my time *sarcasm*). I waited 38 minutes the first call, 30 minutes the second call, and am currently at 1 hr. for my third call. Good thing I can multitask while I have Walgreens on speaker phone. This is not the first time I've experienced this long hold wait. Third, the automated call back doesn't leave enough information...just that the prescription is ready for pick up. I have a two Type 1 diabetics living in my household. Both have 6 different monthly prescriptions. It would be helpful to know which child's prescription is refilled and what the actual refill was for. I have pulled up to the drive thru uncertain who I was picking up a refill for on many occasions...making my drive thru time lengthier. Fourth, if Walgreens wasn't able to fill the prescription, the automated system will call and tell you they were experiencing a problem or there was a delay, but it doesn't tell you for what medication, nor for which person in the household, nor for the reason why it was delayed. Many times, had I known the reason, I could've called the endocrinologist to resolve the problem. FORGET TRYING TO CALL THE WALGREENS PHARMACIST to figure out why there is a delay.!!!You'll get stuck in the never ending hold loop (see my second point above... I am now at 1 hour 30 minutes on my third hold loop for today). It should not be this difficult to fill a prescription nor should it take so long. The pharmacy needs to increase their staffing. They should open up the second lane and put two people at the drive thru during busy hours. They should also open up and staff cash registers when there is one person waiting in line. Btw, I am at 1 hour, 45 minutes on the third call to speak with a pharmacist. read more

The nurse was rude to anyone who walked up "are you here for the clinic? oh you're gonna be waiting an hour", that's how you treat sick people? How about "hi, hello, how can I help you?"! Then I fill everything out, give my ID, insurance, they say everything is good and I go to pick up my prescription and there's absolutely no order. They can't find. Does anyone know what they're doing back there??? The doctor said wait 15-20 mins and they would fill it, the line was long so I left and had my mother go and now there's no medication. The doctor specifically told me to take it tonight ASAP. Well that's pretty hard when you never filled it lady!!! Worst location I've been too. Continuous problems on refilling a simple inhaler prescription. Denied a coupon that Walgreens put out for the medication. Rude staff who don't listen to the customer over their computers which they have difficulty running. Literally was told a prescription was denied before giving her the rx number and was told "oh there it is."--and that is a regular occurrence. Filling a doctor ordered prescription should not require divine intervention and repeated visits. Have had a dozen issues in 6 months. Would rather get my drugs on the street then here. read more

If you need a prescription filled, it's best to allow yourself 2-4 hours at this location. Bunch of sloths operating at irrational speeds. Walgreens is a convenient place to run in and grab a snack, first aid kid, band aids or other household supplies quickly and get out. Well... usually. I came in at around 5:30 AM to pick up some dental hygiene products only to find four fifths of the store blocked off due to a guy cleaning the tiles up with a machine. The end result was that only the front counter to the photo counter and a few other aisles were accessible leaving the entire store mostly closed. As a result I was unable to get the stuff I needed at Walgreens and wound up having to make a trip to Meijer. There's not much of a point of being open if only a few aisles are available to shop in. This location is the worst ever. 2nd lane has not been open for over 3 years. There's always a long line in the other one. They tell you your meds are ready and when you get there they are not. Forget calling unless you like to be on hold for 60 - 90 minutes. Was told 3 different times my meds would be ready and it's been 1 week and they said they haven't come in yet. 24 hour location. They are always busy, but they've been pleasant each time I've visited. They have fresh food to go as well, so that's a plus. Store was clean on my last visit, too! My insurance has changed and ive just tried calling 3 times to update my information with you so my prescriptions will go through under the new plan. The first time im hung up on. The 2nd time same thing. The third time i ask for the store manager to get me to the correct person that can get this done for me. She transfers me to the pharmacy where the phone rings and rings and nowone picks up. This is piss poor service at best. I will no longer be filling my prescriptions with this location let alone any Walgreens. I had a horrible customer service experience. Wish they cared more about their patients and customers. I will not be coming back here. The nurse practitioner was extremely rude. I went to a different Walgreens in villa park and it was a total different experience and the nurse practitioner there was a million times better. One of the best i've encountered.
