I am a nurse who called the pharmacy for a pt who stated that this location did not receive the rx our provider sent. I was on hold for 30 minutes, because that apparently was the limited time a person can be on hold. While on hold, the phone was picked up and put on hold 6 times. So, not only did they inconvenience the pt who btw, was an infant that was in pain, now I'm taken out of my duties to address this issue because of their lack of competency or lack of employees. Suggestion: Either get more employees or set up a phone message system like CVS, where they actually call the pts back within a reasonable time. Please do better for our pts who NEED medication. This evening 12/17/24 I visit Walgreens to buy couple medicines. I understand that bathroom is not open for public but my 3 yrs old need it so bad. I ask one of the employees and he said I have to ask my manager(woman) repeated is not open for public. I said one more time please is for my child. She denied completely. Unbelievable... Walgreens at park ave is not the same anymore parking so duty. A lot of garbage in the parking not good hygiene. there is this man asking for one dollar every time I go. I did give money a couple times but is exactly at the entrance for more than a year now. Not visiting this store anymore. There were also group of young people fighting and the manager went outside to see and they don't even call the police. So sad... I hope this reaches the attentions of Administrators of the pharmacy. read more

I try so hard to stay away from this Walgreens but sometimes I have no other choice. I went in a few weeks ago to pick up some cold medicine, waited in the one line, like always, they never have more than one person ringing. I was on my way home when I noticed the cold medicine was expired...over a year ago. So now I had to go back just to exchange it and the line is even longer. 12 people in line, and the MANAGER of the store is too busy putting candy out, walking in and out of the line of people instead of jumping on a register. Useful location, very helpful staff, but always understaffed at the pharmacy. Ridiculous waits to drop off or pick up a prescription, just because there aren't enough people working there. Clearly, this part of Bridgeport is undeserved by pharmacies. Add staff! Also, pressure the BPD to rid the parking lot of the panhandler...there's always one. read more

Sat in the drive-thru for 30 minutes and got the window shut in my face. Tried to go through the front entrance and was kicked out and told that they were closing at 4 PM that day and wouldn't open until next week, but refused to answer why. My prescription is already paid for and sitting at the pharmacy, but I guess there's no one there to put through a transfer or cancellation. The pharmacy has always had a couple people at any given time with masks on their chins (at a place where they have COVID tests/vaccines/medicines, like, come on medical professionals), so I'm not surprised that the whole store is probably sick now. But they really don't have anyone on-call that can even remotely handle cancelling and transferring prescriptions or something? Even crappy clothing stores at the mall have a Plan B for this kind of thing by now. People shouldn't suddenly be without their prescriptions for several days at best. read more

I will absolutely try not to go to this place ever again. I went in and aside from the cashiers I did not see any employees around. I find out that none of the employees have any type of Walgreens uniform on. They are all in casual personal attire and the only thing that distinguishes them as an employee is a lanyard with a plastic name tags which is flipped around so you can not see the name. No one welcomes you at all or even smiles there. After searching for an employee I finally track one down and ask for assistance. Apparently her face and attitude made me feel as if I had taken her away from a very important task of putting product back on the shelf and gave a reply of "Yeah, hold on." When I get to the registers there are 3 registers open and NONE of them are smiling nor are they asking for the next customer in line to ring them up. All you hear is "NEXT!" Their customer service is non existent at that store. There were many products in different spots (i.e. Soda can stuck in front of a magazine; deodorants with the stationary; etc); signs on the floor; and employees yelling at each other across the store for some type of assistance or communication. I have never been to a more unprofessional establishment in my life. Avoid this store like the plague. Until they change the staffing and the management I don't see this place doing well any time soon. read more

Pharmacy staff tries to be helpful, but they lack follow up skills and being clear with patients. Zurmi, Alicia, sarah, Susan and semeca are great and do what they can with what they have. Besides this pharmacy only having "candy "narcotics/controlled substances seems to be all their stocking. They do not really stock the necessary medications that other patients need on a day to day to survive. Most of the patients coming in are high on something. Sad sad world we live in. read more

This is an excellent pharmacy providing a high level of customer service and also one that stocks some difficult to get drugs. Yad, the pharmacist, remembers me and my health concerns. He always gets back to me promptly by phone and takes care of me when I come in. Great neighborhood pharmacy! I'm very glad I switched from the overpriced, take-a-number chains! For the second time, Walgreens messed up my photos. Manager would not refund because he said they were cropped. His employee did that, not me. So I came home to call Walgreens headquarters; was credited points since the manager refused to give my money back. Talked to a different manager, Amanda, she said find the receipt and bring it back, or else I will not get my money back,never mind the order and price is on my profile on walgreens.com, and on my bank statement. So, I find the receipt, go into Walgreens Park avenue, and was told I had no points, while in fact I have over 57,000 points, but she said I did not. And was told by another very rude cashier that the manager was busy unloading the dock and I had to wait for him for 30 minutes. I called the police and informed them of what was going on. I was given a complaint number to go to police station to do a report for THEFT, since I followed procedure and bought in my receipt. There is no way a manager should tell a paying customer that he wont come up front until he is finish on the dock, either wait thirty minutes or leave. I blew up at the rude cashier and the manager. Security guard comes over and I look him up and down and tell him I dont know what he think he is going to do with that gun, and that he is not the only with a gun and we can shoot this bitch up, with pleasure and for him to come get in my face, when all I want is my money back. The cashier kept the receipt. Going to sue to get my money back, and never ever set foot in this ghetto ass store again. read more

This pharmacy is so unorganized, I never want to use Walgreens again no matter the location. I went to pick up my prescription and they claimed that they "lost" me in the system and therefore were unable to refill my prescription. I asked if they could do it now and said they are out of stock and told me to try a different location. I asked if they could call for me and refused to be of any help. It is never an easy task to get prescriptions. I am done with this place. read more

I didn't realize it until I got home, but I was charged for something I did not place on the counter ($4). The customer ahead of me didn't have enough money to pay for his items. I watched the cashier charge-off the customer's items (so I thought) before I placed my items on the counter. The next day I checked my receipt and saw the error. Poor customer service. Won't venture there again. The store was nice and tidy, I found what I was looking for, and cheaper than CVS, my fav. I'd give this 3 or 4 stars, but I'm not happy about being charged for someone else's items. My fault. I usually tally my items before getting to the counter, but it was lunch break and I was in a hurry. read more

I worked across the street from Walgreens, My 2 co-workers and I decided to get our flu shots and we decided to go at lunch time, while we were there the pharmacist was taking a long time to check on our insurance, 20 minutes later she came back and said that our insurance didnt cover walgreens and that we needed to go to our primary Dr, I found that odd and we left, I called my insurance and they told me that we can get our flu shot there and that they were billing wrong, they can actually see when they tried, they told us that they needed to billed the ins. as medical not pharmacy, we went back and explained that to the same lady, she immediately had an attitude and kept mumbling something, she went to the back and called our insurance, she came back 10 minutes later and told us another LIE, that we needed a referral they way she said it "like I said before you need to see your primary Dr. like we were idiots or didnt know what we were talking about. now we had wasted our lunch time without the flu shot. so I decided to call my insurance and they said we never said you need a referral or see your primary, they are billing it wrong, so they gave me all the billing codes and we call the pharmacy again to give them the codes, well they were offended lol I could hear them in the background talking crap, well they tried with the codes and what ever they had done before I heard when they said it was locked OMG then she comes back on the phone and said that they cant get the codes in and hung up on me, so we decided to call the Stratford walgreens and over the phone they were able to punch in the codes with no problem. We just had to go in and get the flu shot, problem solved our insurance was right and park ave walgreens with their alter ego and horrible customer service were wrong. So for the last time we called to let them know that the stratford walgreens didnt have a problem at all and they hung up on me, like wth. So they lost 3 customers on the spot and I will make sure I will tell over 300 employees that they don't go there for their flu shot that its a nightmare and poor customer service, big lost for them. I will NEVER go there again and I dont care if Im across the street, I rather drive and go somewhere else. read more

The staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful. They weren't personable at all and made no effort to help me. The pharmacist lacks any emotion and does not put forth any extra effort for patients- I noticed he was like this on the phone as well. I needed to change pharmacies due to a move, so I chose this Walgreens since it was close to my new place. I was in need of a time sensitive prescription. They were unable to figure out how to enter my insurance information despite no actual problems with my insurance. I waited for about 25 minutes before I had enough. The employees were standing, emotionless, at their computers and did not tell me what was going on. I did not hear "we're sorry" once, and the pharmacist hung up with the insurance company instead of staying on the phone to fix my situation. I told them I'd try another pharmacy, and I was handed a slip of paper with Walgreens' phone # on it without a word. I went to a CVS in Fairfield, where they had absolutely no problem filling my prescription, and were very kind to me. All I have left to say is that my experience with this Walgreens was very negative. If you do not like helping people, I have no idea why you'd get into a career where the job is 90% customer service. I would never treat anyone that poorly. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would! :( read more
