Review for the stop and shop gas station only! My husband and I are working paycheck to paycheck and still dont make enough money for the second week before we are paid again. We buy gas alot because we drive for our jobs. We both work full time and he works a part time job. He went to stop and shop to bring back bottles to get extra money to get gas for work today. He went to the gas station, and the middle aged woman (white and thick) working in the booth, complained the whole time because my husband paid with coins. 3$ in quarters, 1$ in dimes, and another dollar in a mixture of nickels and quarters. The rest was dollar bills. She sighed and huffed and puffed, telling him this was the last time he could go there and pay in that amount of change because she had all these other customers She had to take care of. He was the only one in the line, everyone else was paying with card at the pumps. He's never paid with change like that before at that gas station so idk what her issue was. And then she complained about having to count it all. This is not okay. We are just living our lives trying to get by and scrape what little money we have just to go to work and do it all over again. I've been in customer service almost my entire life. This woman needs to be written up or something because that is not okay. Your job is to take any money, smile, count it and then sit back down on your ass and go the rest of your day without being such a bitch. We are not going back to that gas station. read more

This Stop & Shop has been my primary grocery store for more than 10 years. Overall, it's a really good store, but the employees make the store what it is. However, there are a few issues. Carl, the manager, operates the store very efficiently and customers and employees really like him. I order from Pea Pod sometimes and they're often out of items that they shouldn't run out of. They have been out of Chobani Plain NonFat Yogurt for several weeks or the stock people aren't putting it out. On my last order, they were out of ground turkey breast and brown eggs and what I thought was going to cost $125 ended up costing $84 because they didn't have all of the items. This location is clean, organized and has plenty of parking. They seem to be very short staffed, and the inventory was sparse. It was almost impossible to find someone to locate certain seasonings. The deli department was the only area fully staffed. You are on your own for check out, and the software needs to be streamlined. They make it as difficult as possible to find fresh produce and certain individual items on their computer screen. There was only one person available to assist all the customers trying to check out. That employee would definitely benefit from some additional training. read more

It's hard to write a review for a supermarket when I was there for a prescription rather than groceries but here it goes. I arrived an hour after my Dr's Office visit figuring that was enough time for the pharmacist to fill the script. I learned when I got there that it was not called in. I called the Dr to learn that they hadn't called it in so they would get it in now since I was at the pharmacy. The pharmacist said she would put it together for me as soon as it arrived which was so cool. So since I didn't need any groceries, I wandered down the closest aisles near the pharmacy to see that the shelves were neat and filled. I took some pictures to illustrate what I saw. I also found a magazine section that had a great inventory of magazines. I hang out there and perused a couple before returning to the pharmacy. My script was ready to go and I was on my way! MY REVIEW OF STOP & SHOP IS FOR THE SERVICE DESK ONLY. I needed to do an International Western Union wire transfer while in town and stopped at this location to get my business done. I should have asked the name of the lady who took care of me but didn't think I was going to write a review. I would have mentioned her name here. I use Western Union often and provided the service desk employee my telephone number, so she could look me up in the system, handed her my cash, signed the receipt and I was on my way. That simple! I was in & out in less than 10 minutes, Service with a smile. This woman had the best attitude and I enjoyed talking to her about recent events in Florida while she was processing my request. Nice visit and no issues. read more

One of the few Stop and Shop stores that has a salad bar that is fully stocked and fresh. I often go for a quick lunch even though I work on the other side of town. Usually am able to get in and out quickly and get a nice sized salad for under $8--cheaper and healthier than most other lunch places. Also nice that they have a gas station on site that is super easy to get in and out of without causing a traffic jam. read more

I had purchased 2 ground beef meats from the store as well as the label saying that it was packaged on July 17. However when I got home and tried to cook a meal for my kids i cut the ground beef and it was so brown in the inside and had a smell to it. I called the store and they simply said that they have never got a complaint about the meat and know that it is well taken care of. I proceeded to say that it doesn't matter if you think that the meat is taken care of but the simple fact of putting old meat in a package with new meat and putting the new meat on top to make it seem as though the meat is fresh. Being from the DC area, which is loaded with Giant supermarkets (the same company as Stop & Shop), this place felt like home to me. Same color scheme, same items on the shelves, same airplane-hangar sized store. It was, however, difficult to find because there were no street signs! WTF? I live in Brooklyn now, and I stopped by this Stop & Shop in Milford on my way back from New Haven yesterday. Needless to say, we have nothing like this in Brooklyn. Nothing this size and nothing with this much selection- you'd literally need to visit 5 different stores to get this kind of shopping in. Produce, meats, deli, bakery, frozen foods, hair care, pots & pans, school supplies, hardware and outdoor, pet foods and supplies- they have it all in addition to everything you'd expect as staples in a grocery store. This is the kind of store where you grab a shopping cart and drive up and down the aisles, grabbing what you need/want along your leisurely way. By the time we were done yesterday, my girlfriend and I had two shopping carts full to the tune of $220. When's my next excuse to get the car out of storage and find the nearest Stop & Shop, I wonder? Gotta find one closer to Brooklyn, because this saved me about $50 over my monthly Fresh Direct hit. read more

The go-to Stop & Shop in the area. It was recently renovated in July and it shows on the inside. Everything looks so new. There is a really nice deli, butcher, and seafood area for your needs. I think they could do a little better with their grab and go section. The Boar's Head sandwiches are fantastic but the sushi is really disappointing. It is possible for grocery stores to have good sushi, Publix and Whole Foods have good sushi. Every time I buy it the rice is rock hard. Hardly seems fresh. The frozen pizza section is also lacking on the personal sized pizza selection. I can't seem to find any of the products I purchased at Publix. I do really like their Stop & Shop card system. The gas points do help me out. The self check out lanes are the best for quick and few item shoppers. read more

Stop & Shop needs to do something about their robot getting in people's way. You don't see the robot coming, there's no warning sound... either someone is going to get hurt by that thing or that robot is going to cause a serious accident. One of the employees told me I need to be careful and watch out for it when I come in the store. I'm busy doing stuff... Not my job to watch out for your moving mechanical object in the store! read more

I like this Stop and Shop. It is large and newly renovated. There are plenty of self check out registers and the wait times are minimal. This store is conveniently located near exit 40 off of I-95. In addition, I frequently use their gas station which is right on the premises! read more

I am disappointed in the way marketing dictates product line. I only buy My T Fine pudding and pie products. Your pudding aisle mainly has everything Jello. It looks as though someone is getting paid to push that product and none other. I have had to go to a different grocery in the past few weeks to purchase the My T Fine line. This is not the place to shop if you intend to use the self check-out. The employees who are assigned to work these registers do absolutely nothing to help customers get through the lines faster and more often than not, the customers who get in these lines have no concept of how to use them or courtesy and consideration toward others. I have better things to do than to stand behind rude people who don't know enough to get a clerk to ring up their groceries and prefer to infringe on the rights of others. read more

got ripped off by this store twice in two weeks, items on the shelf that are clearly marked on sale when you bring them to the cashier they don't ring up as being on sale at the self check out, would rather use the manned check out but they only have one line open, wait five minutes for assistance and the person who comes says if it doesn't ring up as being on sale then it isn't, doesn't matter if you have a picture of the sign saying it's on sale, Time to do my grocery shopping at a different store, many employees not helpful at all and do not seem to be very happy at all if they're working at this store read more
