I get it, I get it, people only review places like hotels or drugstores on Yelp if they have something bad to say. So let me tell you why this is my go-to drugstore: * All-around better service than CVS at every Walgreens I've been to. No exception in Boonton. * The pharmacists bust their tails to help customers, filling prescriptions, measuring quantities, verifying info. It's a never-ending process they go through and they manage it all without taking it out on us. * Store is clean, standard layout so nothing's that hard to find. * The pharmacy keeps my Walgreens card and credit card on record for faster processing. Whenever I need it, I'm in, I'm out. And I understand the wait times can be long at busy times of day. Again, they are trying their HARDEST and they deserve my recognition for that. Sorry to all you haters, but you are weighing down the rating unfairly. read more

My MD called in a prescription on Wednesday it is now Saturday and they STILL don't have my medication! I need this medication and it is 1) Completely unacceptable to wait this long 2) If they had any semblance of customer care they would have either sent me to another pharmacy or gotten the medication from another Walgreens! read more

The staff is usually very friendly but getting prescriptions is a painful process. Submissions from your doctor's office are often missed because "they system is down again" and the automated calls "apologizing for the delay" seem almost automatic. I see lots of bottles behind the counter but I am starting to wonder if they are props. read more

Meaning, the doctor called in a script, I showed up and then proceeded to wait OVER 30 minutes after being told to wait "a few minutes" for them to get it together. This is worst walgreens. I have been coming for years and the past year it has deteriorated. Not only is it the ugliest Walgreens around. The service is the WORST in the pharmacy. Noone knows what to do. They take forever lines are so long. This place needs to close down and CVS or something take over. It is run so badly. The only good pharmacist is Ali Hassanzadeh. The pharmacy manager is great but everyone else ranges between incompetent and friendly to incompetent and rude. Prescriptions are never on time. They make changes to scripts based on discussions w/ the insurer, not the prescribing doctor or patient. They've sold expired, broken, medical equipment and upon return (within 24 hours w/ receipt), stated that they cannot accept returns on prescription items. After much discussion and the general store manager intervening, they replaced it with another unit that was also broken. The solution was ultimately to contact the manufacturer to get a working replacement. If this was a one time occurrence, I would say they were having a bad day but this is a typical interaction with them. If your conditions require a constant supply of medications in a timely manner, this is NOT the pharmacy you want to use. read more

This review is for the pharmacy- I've never had an issue here and have been coming for over 2 years. The staff is always friendly and able to answer any questions. I've only used the drive-thru twice because I was sick and didn't want to scare anyone with my zombie-like appearance. The wait took way too long on both occasions. Unless you physically cannot get out of your car, I suggest just going inside because it's a smooth process. read more

Today they didn't want to refill my prescription because of an "insurance issue", saying that i had to call my doctor and figure it out. I completely agree that this is the worst Walgreens and worst drugstore anywhere . It is dirty , the employees , including pharmacy are lazy and slow to help . I have driven away from the pharmacy drive thru several times as no one comes , and finally , yesterday , there was a shelf stocker that was walking around coughing with his mask half on and he stunk of smoke . I received a text from this exact pharmacy that it was time to renew my 2 prescriptions that intake daily so I clicked yes I want them. The next day I was notified they needed to contact my Dr because my renewals has run out, no worries as this has happened before. After waiting 5 days with no follow-up I went to this pharmacy and was told that my Dr's office still hadn't approved the renewal even though she "faxed the request a number of times". So after waiting on full week I called my Dr and spoke with the nurse who only does this (I've known her for well over 20 years). She yelled me that not only have they not contacted her, she put her own prescription there yesterday first thing in the morning and it wasn't there for her that night when she went to pick it up. She then told me she would put the prescriptions through right now which she did and I got a text confirming this from Walgreen's. I verified the info first thing this morning confirming a 1p pick-up today which was approved and confirmed by Walgreen's. Guess what, I showed up at 1:10p and was told it wasn't ready yet but now that I was here it would be ready in "10-15 minutes". REALLY!!!??? WHO trains these people? Come on Walgreen's you need to catch up with the rest of the world. Oh and my Dr's office tells me this happens all the time and they blame the Dr's office that they didn't do their job. That's NOT right. If I could have given Zero stars I would have. BTW...I'm waiting here 16 minutes and still counting. Before leaving this place, I asked to speak with the store manager and was told he left for the day (1:50pm). I was referred to the Asst. Manager Shawn who was a good listener. After I explained everything, he looked at me and said yes I am aware and that "we are working on this" leading me to believe this was a recent development. I responded with a counterpoint explaining that since I sat for such a long time in his store I had the opportunity to read quite a number of reviews that all point at exactly my issue(s) and how these reviews are all posted over a longer period of time than he lead me to believe. It was only their garbage agreed that this all has been going on for quite sometime. This Walgreens is disgusting. It is old, falling apart, and overall dirty. The bathrooms are also nasty. It definately needs a refurbish/renovation. I would rather go to the Wal-Mart up the street to do my business. read more

This place is annoying. I went to get passport photo printer yesterday at parsipppany location no problem great store great service. I come to do the same in the boonton location it's a show. Telling me it's $12.00 I explained to him I paid .39 cents yesterday. Horrible service horrible manager, I even asked him this is a Walgreens right? Same as all the others!!!! This pharmacy just gets worse and worse. It is extremely disorganized. I sometimes get two or three phone calls a DAY reminding me I have a prescription ready, two from a human and one computerized. The worse thing is I am now bedridden and unable to get there. I asked if they had delivery but they do not. Odd as both the ShopRite and Acme do! (Acme did say there's is sporadic.) Last Wednesday I sent my Caregiver to this Walgreens to pick up a script my doctor had called in the week before. They informed her it was not ready. He called it in a week before! Then come Sunday, five days after my Caregiver showed up to pick up this prescription, they call me and say it has been there over ten days and so they are putting it back. This has to be the worse pharmacy in Boonton. They are really disorganized as you can tell from my story. Yes they did get a new drive up since I complained about it last year but a new drive thru does not help when your staff is just totally not communicating with each other and extremely disorganized. I am now in the process of moving all my prescriptions to the Acme. So done with this Walgreens! read more

The absolute worst Walgreens. The pharmacy sometimes has 4+ staff and still nothing gets done quickly or correctly. Many times medications we've taken for YEARS are not in stock, you know people have refills coming up and you don't think to ensure they can get them? Last time my metformin had a surprise of a completely different white pill in the bottle which happens to be an antipsychotic medication!! How do you make a mistake like that?? The pills weren't even the same size. The pharmacy assistants are not well trained. The only one that knows what's going on is the lead pharmacist Ali Hassanzadeh. They often lie and say they called your doctor or insurance company multiple times for authorization or to change the medication and the doctor "never calls back". Complete BS as all of my doctors call back when I fill at any other different pharmacy. They have lost paper prescriptions more times than I can count, tell me that electronic prescriptions never arrived. It's just a nightmare over there, even the drive up tube is broken more often than not. As for the store, it looks more like a dollar store than a pharmacy, the people at the register barely speak English and appear to be sleeping most of the time...very unhelpful. The interior is dirty and dilapidated, Walgreens took over from another pharmacy chain many years ago and never made any effort to improve or update the store. read more

Eh.. as far as the store, that is great, but if you need to use the pharmacy it can depend on who you get. One of the woman there is really rude, short, and just looks like she would rather be somewhere else. I get it... , but c'mon. You can use the drive through, but expect to site there for at least 10 minutes even if you are just picking up. read more

after a&p being closed, i resorted to coming to this pharmacy for my monthly perscriptions for the past few months. Drive thru forget it. longest wait of my life to even be acknowledged. going inside doesnt get much better still the longest wait, today i reached the final straw when i tried to refill, she said it was way to early confused by the fact i come the same time every month I was frustrated, she treated me like an idiot. i then asked for her named she sassed me with I do my job right. Unbelievable. so unprofessional let alone RUDE. worst customer service. ew. I am so disgusted by the whole experience. if you are not a people person Get a desk a job! i work with people all day and it can get frustrated but i would never treat someone so rude. bad experience after bad experience with this inept staff!!! I've had the same Doctors for 15 + years. I have almost NEVER had trouble getting prescription refills timely. Since we moved to Boonton and started using Walgreens, every single time I need a refill, I've had to call the Dr. and do it myself. The staff at Walgreens "claims" to have called several times, then you call the Dr. office and they say they never received a call!! On top of that, the woman that answers the phone is RUDE.
