They have four chairs where some services are performed and a couple of folding chairs as the waiting area right behind it. I arrived 20 minutes early to my appointment (because I suck at estimating travel times) and the waxer wasn't in yet so I had to wait until my appointment time so make sure to come at your scheduled time! While I was waiting the salon owner had a very nice conversation with me about the business and about herself. I really enjoy when business owners are friendly and strike up conversation. When the waxer came I was taken into the private back room for my wax. They used chocolate wax, yes chocolate, for my wax!!! The waxer has over 20 years experience and she has many other salons in NYC and the BX. They take the wax and put it into a little condiment looking cup and onto a different warmer so there is NEVER DOUBLE DIPPING. She also used a cloth paper thing to rip off the wax rather than using her hand to pull off the wax- something I've never experienced but I think it was less painful that way. She was very detailed and made sure to get every single hair while keeping me comfortable 100% of the time. I decided to ask her and her team to do my hair for my wedding. I had to postpone the celebrations due to Covid but she did my hair for the first ceremony I had and I loved it. I was asked how short I wanted to go and I said 2-3 inches. Now the longest part BARELY touches my neck. Flyaway long hair pieces on both sides of the face that I have to cut myself to even them out. When I try to put hair up one side falls down, which means the layers are uneven, one side shorter than the other. Where my bangs end, the first layer ends too, making the mushroom effect. After I wash the hair it will be even worse! The website is stunning and maybe they specialize in keratin and color, but this haircut has left me in tears. I have a wedding in 3 weeks to attend and thinking of not going because of this. Beware if you plan on going for a life changing haircut, it will be just that!
