I'm going to start using the Lakeway HEB because of the newly placed homeless encampment right in that vicinity. I'm sad to go to another store but I'm going to avoid all the businesses in that intersection and area until the camps are disbanded. Today there is a mentally ill man "dancing wildly" flinging his arms and legs everywhere with his dog on a small strip of space in the intersection in front and honestly, I don't want to end up anywhere near that. I literally moved away from a different area of Austin to get away from that only to have Mayor Adler bussing them here when Prop B passed. I'm hoping Gov Abbott signs legislation soon banning all such camping because housing and assistance DOES exist for homeless and tents are not the answer. I look forward to hopefully returning to this HEB because it is, hands down, my favorite.

On multiple occasions they have filled the wrong medication, provided the wrong quantity, failed to fill a prescription that was ordered, or failed to notify me of an out-of-stock medication. To further magnify the shortcomings, the automated system is a crime against technology and so inconsistent that it's virtually useless. The only reason I haven't transferred prescriptions elsewhere before now is that pharmacies have become like airlines and car dealerships--no matter which one you pick, you know it's going to an utterly miserable experience. However, this particular pharmacy somehow manages to go the extra mile on consistently under-delivering (despite markedly lowered expectations) and ensuring that virtually every interaction is the rough equivalent of a root canal.

I also received a recommendation for a supplement to help with mild appetite suppression and fat burn which I am indeed curious to try. On a side note - I didn't look through all the pharmacy items because I was short on time but BOY did they have a selection in there! You have to be careful about just starting new meds because they can interact with prescription medications, but if you got a supplement cleared with your doctor, I'm fairly sure this place would have it. I started off today at their gas station which has gas for the same price as Costco but they make it so complicated to use the pump. I had to link a credit card to my Sams Club account while standing at the pump since they wouldn't let you just tap a random card after verifying my membership. That sucked...and I like to change the cards I use sometimes. So then I looked in the warehouse store and after 40 years at Costco lets just say Sam's Club is depressing. Price's were ok...but it was all old and run down and kinda trashy. One thing I did like was being able to order food from the cafe via the app and go pick it up...but the hot dog doesn't hit like Costco. You bite into it and it does not have that snap of the casing. Taste wise or was okay...and the drink is about 30oz (twice the size of Costco which will make sense as you walk around the store and see the customers that shop there). The cafe needs to add some healthier options. But I guess that's their clientele. Soooo...at $15-$25 for a year membership you get what you pay for. I did really enjoy the gas savings and will get my membership fee back 10x with that savings and maybe when I have a BBQ or go camping, i'll stock up on meat which seemed pretty well priced.

A temple on the new glasses started going askew about 2 weeks later so I ventured back to Martin's, at my wife's suggestion, to seek a swap-out--the askewed glasses for an identical replacement pair. No go without the receipt, cashier said. When I pointed out that I obviously also had the glasses pouch from the purchase--perhaps a sign I'd bought the glasses there--the cashier didn't engage; he went silent, staring into his big screen.
