I recently transferred my prescriptions over to this Walgreens because it is so much more convenient at Indian Trail and Lake Street, and it's open 24 hours. The parking lot can be hectic getting in and out depending on what direction you're coming/going from, but the convenience of this location trumps the parking lot debacle. Ideally, I use this pharmacy for refills and I never have any problems. Using the drive-thru lane is relatively quick too. The pharmacists are friendly and helpful. The line at the pharmacy can get long, and they definitely don't fill prescriptions as quickly as other pharmacies. Dropping off new prescriptions is a bit of a hassle. This is not a location where you'll want to sit and wait. At my last drop-off, they asked if I could come back two hours later. When I returned, they wanted "five more minutes." It's frustrating when I have to stand in line just to hear that! Some of the pharmacy techs (or whoever is manning the register at the pharmacy) could use a spit-shine in customer service and appearing more polished. I've only stopped in for convenience items like gift cards, and the employees at the register are generally pretty friendly. This Walgreens also sells Milani cosmetics (not all locations do), so I always take a peek at what's in stock. It's no secret that the neighborhood surrounding this Walgreens has a high Hispanic population, so I always enjoy jamming to the latest Latina hits playing overhead while waiting. BAILE! read more

I went to get a prescription filled. As I was in line I witnessed the pharmacy employee rolling her eyes at an old man, because he was paying with dollars and change. He gave her too much change and she was so mean talking with him. The employees name tag was Desiree. She was young, maybe this is why she did not have good communication skills. I just can't believe how she treated this elderly man mad . When my turn came I got a few eye rolls and smart remarks because my address was different. But I grinned and bared it and tried my best to ignore. I was in pain and needed this prescription filled fast.. but how she treats customers is so in acceptable. read more

If the line gets a little too long, the cashier would called for help with a code of "C3" (I assume stands for see 3 people) and someone would open up another register. The cashier I've had here have been very friendly and helpful. The store is well stocked and products and sales are correctly labeled. Slow and sometimes rude pharmacy staff. Other staff is nice. Store is fairly dirty and many items are picked over.

The store is generally clean and the staff mostly courteous and competent. the parking lot is sometimes a problem, but it's a small, narrow parking lot at a busy intersection so you can't expect much. I started bringing my prescriptions here when it was a true 24 hour pharmacy. The store may be open 24 hours but the pharmacy hours are now about the same as other stores in the area, so they have lost that advantage. I used to be very happy with their prescription services, but the last few years they seem to have major issues communicating with my doctor's office. I don't know if the fault lies with their computer system or the store staff, but it needs to be fixed. Today I went into the store to pick up two of the three scripts I have been trying to get refilled. The lines were long and there was one person scurrying between drop off, pickup, and drive thru. This was not because he was the only one in the department. His coworkers were also scurrying including one young woman who's job was apparently to walk around with a clipboard and ignore the growing lines. She was really, really good at that. The last time I witnessed that level of organization, there was a clown car involved. I also pulled up GoodRX on my phone because one medication had gone up steeply in price, only to find that Walgreens was the most expensive of the ten pharmacies listed. As a general rule, I am a fan of Walgreens. Not only is Walgreens based out of the Chicagoland area, but every time I go in there I always find awesome things at great prices. Ever since the Jewel across the street from this Walgreens closed I have found myself stopping in here for the things I normally would have bought from Jewel. While their Grocery department isn't anything to write home about, they do have the bare essentials, and they never seem to be out of stock. As for the rest of the store they have a huge selection of all sorts of different items for less than you would find just about anywhere else. I recently signed up for their rewards program and I have found it to be very useful. I regularly get coupons for prescriptions, and I also get coupons for 20% of contact lenses! yay! I have to recommend that the next time you find yourself at this Walgreens you check out the amazing array of Mexican candles that they have in their candle section. They are really cool. I also recommend picking up t-shirts and sandals at Walgreens as I have bought one of my favorite shirts at Walgreens as well as some very cute sandals that have held up better than almost anything I own. The reason that this Walgreens in particular gets 5 stars is the employees. There is this one older lady who's a cashier there who is very friendly and always makes you feel welcome. She once told me all about how she just LOVES her job, and as a former cashier myself I can't tell you just how rare that is! The only thing I like about this location is the fact that it's open 24 hours when most others in the area have bizarre hours. The pharmacy department is always understaffted. Home sick from work and picking up a presciption your doctor called in at 10 am on a Tuesday? Stopping after work around 5 o'clock? Just driving by at 9 at night? In any of these scenarios, you'll wait forever (even if you called in your refill 2 days ago) and the same dark haired male employee will tell you that someone will "be right with you." This guy conveniently is always stepping out on his break EVERY time there is a rush. Their drive thru is uselessly slow to the point where they shouldn't even have one. Their drive thru even once returned my debit card to the other lane! They sped off before I realized it and their employee didn't even apologize. By the time I called my bank less than 10 minutes later, there were already 2 fraudulent charges on the card! The last two times I've been in the store, every advertisement over the intercom has been in Spanish. People are welcome to immigrate, however they are also welcome to assimilate and learn the language of the country they are in! I always leave here in a bad mood even on the best day. Two days ago my roommate walked into this Walgreens that she attends regularly and upon leaving a employee failed to notice her cane in the checkout and loudly asked her "what happened" heard throughout the store to his surprise she's disabled. When he heard her explain that- which legally she doesn't have to say a word about any mobility device, he said "DISABLED?!" extremely loud again. He was working the register with the cigarettes and asked if she was from around the area. She was so embarrassed she left as fast as she possibly could without saying a word and to this day is still bothered. read more
