Very negative experience with Michael (as per my receipt) at checkout…read more
Huge attitude about bringing my coupon on my phone. I'd been told by 2 other CVS stores not to send coupon to card anymore due to multiple issues, which they knew about because it happened with other customers too. At Paoli and Newtown Square CVS locations this seems to be comprehensible and understood, that tech issues arise and happen, and those managers told me to bring my coupon in specifically with the barcode on my phone. At the Lima location, doing this was like the Twilight Zone.
Michael was FAR more invested in the old adage "The CVS associate is always right..." (no wait...that's not how it goes) than listening to my account issues, and totally dismissed and rebuked everything I said, like I was a liar or an idiot. Totally unprofessional and thuggish. This was straight out of Chappelle's PopCopy skit. I honestly wondered if this kid has a drug abuse problem because he was so brutally, belligerent (like people I have known who did have a drug abuse problem, oh, and all the characters on that Chappelle skit).
Basically, the kid could not seem to compute how tech issues could arise, and said over and over, "If you send it to your card, it goes to your card," like it is Sesame Street simple. Despite my repeated replies that no, it actually doesn't, and missing loaded coupons has happened already several times this year, he just continued to argue a really pointless argument until I pretended he was right, because that's how you have to act with a psycho.
So after being lectured for following instructions from managers of other CVS stores, I was ready to walk out because, honestly, I was buying a hair item that is regularly half the price CVS charges at several other major retailers. We had time to kill while waiting for a Pappone's order across the street, and that's the only reason I was there. Even with their 30% off coupon, the product still cost more than the other major retailers' REGULAR price, and he was arguing me over a $1.38 discount. Really? This is honestly why I sincerely sensed he has a drug problem or something because it was so absurd.
After telling me he would allow my cell-phone version of the coupon "this once" he then told me I couldn't show him a bar code on a phone... uh, what did you mean by saying you would allow it and then saying otherwise? He kind of blinked, and seemed to remember where he was, and that he just told me he'd take it, but he redundantly stressed the point that it was one-time-only, blah blah blah... (though, again, managers of 2 other stores told me specifically to do coupons this way, and a 3rd store in West Chester took my phone barcode, no prob, just last week). But this dude at Lima had to be right in contradicting 3 other stores... whatevs! You win, ONE STAR!
He then said, "Well, I know this is your coupon because it went with your account, and if it wasn't your coupon, it wouldn't ring up with your account..." like that helps his point? Whiskey tango? (Twilight Zone music)
Luckily this is not my local store and I won't have to go back.
This is the PopCopy CVS!
