I showed up today with my mom because I had a gift card and wanted to see if I could find a decent moisturizer here that didn't break the bank. Their prestige makeup is always very alluring, but a tad too expensive for me. Since it's the holidays, they were set up with their products that would make good gifts, front and center. I was buying something for myself, however, so I didn't really pay attention. The store is very well organized, though! Just as I started looking for the perfect moisturizer, one caught my eye almost instantly. I like water based, gel moisturizer, so the one from Neutrogena I saw was ticking all those boxes. I grabbed the box and went up to the cash registers. Though there was no one there at first (totally understandable, as the staff was out on the floor helping other customers), I didn't wait long. A store associate who was finished helping someone came up to the register and apologized for the wait, which was nice of her. We chatted about some things we ended up having in common and she was probably the nicest, most pleasant staff member I've ever met there. It was great that she didn't rush me through the checkout process like a lot of retail workers do this time of year (as a former retail grunt, I totally understand why). Many caffeinated and de-caffeinated teas available here. You can get pretty much however much you like, but they also have prepared bags available. I found them because we got a gift of one of the decaf loose teas which we found to be terrific. The teas all have names and different purposes. I think they are mixed by the two ladies running the place but could be wrong. I picked up some more of the tea we are already familiar with. While I was there they were giving shoppers a sample of another tea. It was very good. I did not buy any today, but they have a nice selection of organic spices available as well. They also have bath salts and various other skin care related products. Credit cards accepted over $5. They have a private parking lot so parking is no issue.

As it is, it was the closest pharmacy to my house for ages. It was fairly new, in that it wasn't around when I first moved in. There seem to be a Rite Aid on every corner now. The employees were friendly and it was clean, shiny, new and well-stocked so for that reason it scores 2 instead of 1. However, it's a big ugly corporate cookie-cutter chain with absolutely obscene prices on a lot of the stuff, and I always preferred Walgreens which is usually, bizarrely, right across the street. And if you need bleach for your clothes, don't come here, go to White Aid.
