This store since Covid has been a complete and utter dumpster fire. I placed an order for prescription refills on MONDAY, have spent 4 hours this week on hold when asked to call them because of a delay in the prescriptions. Finally on Friday at 4:45 PM. I was able to get a hold of someone they told me my prescriptions were out of date and that I would have to call my doctor at 5 o'clock in the afternoon on a Friday to get it refilled, this was not told to me on Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday after an hour hold each day, just that they were having issues filling the prescriptions. So now I am unable to get my life-saving medication for myself or my son because this pharmacy can't staff enough people to answer the damn phone. My business is now at Walmart. I will never shop at the store again. read more

The pharmacy is not organized. I call they say my medication is ready for pickup, I get there, somehow my medication is not ready. They never answer their phone. The drive through is not available. They just seem to me all over the place. I recommend spending your time elsewhere. read more

I go to walgreens for many things. It is quick and convenient. I stock up in the candy isle I get gag gifts and weird decor in the seasonal aisle I get gift exchange items in the as seen on tv section I get birthday party items for kids by walking the store And, oh yeah, deodorant, floss, cleaning supplies, camping last minute things like wet wipes. All of those purchases where I am too lazy to zig zag back and forth at a bigger store, I can get here in a quarter of the time. My time matters. I can buy milk and snacks and beverages and bandaids. I can go in sick and not infest the world. These are all good things. read more

I've been a long-time patron of this Walgreens location. It's the only drive-thru stand-alone pharmacy in town (though there is a Medicap pharmacy across town). This Walgreens has a photo processing center, the pharmacy, some groceries, lots of health products, and some household products as well. This is NOT a 24/7 location. It has regularly closing and opening hours. It also has a staffed cosmetic counter and a drive-thru Pharmacy. Parking is good here, and unlike some Walgreens parking lots, it actually is pretty easy to get in and out of. It's located right next to the North Grand Mall, so on occasion, parking can get a bit full on the mall-side of the store. As for the bright side, though, you can easily park at the mall, get what you wanted in the mall, walk to Walgreens, and then walk back to your car - without wasting all sorts of gas in your car. The mall also has bike parking as well as almost every CyRide bus makes a stop there. This gives you a lot of ways to get to Walgreens if you need to. The interior of the store has always been very clean and organized. They don't get a ton of foot traffic, so everything is usually in its place. Unless it's a sale item for that week, I've rarely had issues with an item being out of stock when I come in to purchase. Items that are super cheap or free may be out of stock, though, but even then, their stock usually seems to last most of the week (Wednesday or so). What you'll pay when shopping at Walgreens depends on what you're buying. If you're buying non-sale merchandise, you'll probably pay more than a big box retailer. However, if you're buying things that are on sale, you can regularly pay LESS than the big-box guys. Keep an eye on the weekly circular to figure out what you'll want to buy that week. This store does keep a pile of the circulars near the door if you want to pick one up before shopping. As another reviewer mentioned, ALL sale prices in the weekly circular are ONLY valid if you have one of their membership cards (Balance Rewards). The card is entirely free and you can sign up quickly at check-out, but some people are really against the idea of having to have it. The photo counter is pretty good, but it's not always staffed. If someone isn't there, just ask another associate to help you out. All of my photo orders have been ready within the promised time, and because Walgreens is so close to the mall, you can come in, sit at the kiosk, figure out what you want printed, go shopping, and come back in an hour and your prints will be done. It's a nice way to save time and get your photos printed at the same time. Print quality is okay; it's not as impressive as other photo printing services, but it's okay. (I might be picky in that department since I'm a photographer, though.) Checking out is usually pretty fast, and if it seems like things are getting backed up, they're really good about calling in other cashiers to help. You'll be checked out within a couple minutes once joining the line - and many times, I'm the only person in line, so I'm out of there without waiting. It really depends on what time you go (like if you go during the rush hour right after most people get off work). Cashiers are usually very friendly and easy to work with; most don't usually even have a problem with coupons either, so that's definitely awesome! Final thoughts: Great Walgreens location. I wish more locations were like this. Everything is so organized, and it's usually a pleasant and enjoyable shopping experience. Employees are friendly, and it's a great and clean location. (As a note, there's also a Redbox located outside of Walgreens in case you wanted to pick up a movie to watch later too!) read more

Clean store, rude staff. Stopped in with my fiancé. First thing Barb said to us when we got to the counter was "just a minute" in a very curt tone. My fiancé was simply lifting the water onto the counter so she did not have to. We looked at each other like, did she really just say that? After she rang up one brand of water he politely told her the other brand we had in the cart. Again, she cut him off to say "just a minute." Really, Barb? He doesn't deserve that. He's the most polite person I've ever met. Maybe this is just how Barb is, but I can't help but wonder if it might be because my fiancé is not white as Barb warmly welcomed another (white) customer entering the store as we left. While my fiancé brushes off these many instances we have encountered in Iowa so far, I cannot. Nursing mamas, take note! I was in from out of town on Thanksgiving and realized I'd forgotten a pump part. This store was open on Thanksgiving morning AND sold extra parts. I was so relieved (literally). Great, friendly staff to boot. I always find a great selection of baby, skincare and cosmetic items at this location too. read more
