However, I'm sure that CVS keeps the student and staff population well prescribed and toiletried. Actually, maybe a should up the rating as they carry the Sunday New York Times! Starbucks stopped selling papers and I've come up empty at both big Hyvees in recent times, so seeing "All the News that's Fit to Print" smiling at me here was a real bonus. I've come in for other stuff too, mainly related to pain relief, allergy, shaving, dental, etc. You know, the usual that one would expect at CVS, Walgreen's, Rite Aid, etc. There also a nice small parking lot on the Welch Avenue side if you don't want to fight it on the street on Lincoln Way.

This CVS is located in Campus Town and is in a pretty great location, especially for all the…read morestudents. They stay open pretty late and have their own parking lot (for customers only, otherwise get ready to be towed!) so that's always a plus! The staff is nice and always willing to assist. Sometimes it seems like they're a bit understaffed, especially in the evenings. Nevertheless, a good store for your basic everyday needs.

This seemed strange to me because other Walmart's pride themselves on being trucker friendly. This also cause a loss in sales because all these truckers would have came in and purchased food for the day while they were waiting to be unloaded. This experience has left a bad taste in the mouth of the 15+ drivers dropping off product to the new site. This is what happens when one Walmart manger feels "big" and makes decisions that do not support the original motto Sam Walton wanted for his company.​

There are employees constantly making sure everything stays that way. Unfortunately, because of the mass quantity of stock, the quality is sometimes overlooked; mainly in the produce section. The produce can be hit or miss whether or not it's gone bad and just hasn't been pulled or is good with a few "bad apples". The samples are definitely a nice touch while shopping and the employees handling them tend to know about the products, thankfully. Some employees seem to do everything they can to avoid being asked a question, while others go out of their way to help you, so service can be hit or miss as well. The food court is great! Lol. The low prices for the food are awesome and the food tastes great, so win-win there! Overall, this is a clean store with quite a bit to choose from, I just wish the fresh produce was better kept up with as well as the employee interactions.

My decently healthy and mobile Dad uses a walker. When I come to Ames for a visit, I usually get a…read more"to do" list to help him out. That often includes a trip to Walmart (wine, cat litter, etc.), the Bank, take him to appointments, and in this case arrange to get that walker fixed. This time around, only a series of brake-related adjustments were required, setting him back maybe $30. Next time the walker goes out, a full replacement will be required of which Choice Medical has a number of options. I'm happy to help out and really appreciated the guy who fixed the walker. And as we're all on the same escalator, good Karma is very important.
