Beware!! Disgusting, greedy location - corporate contract with next door neighbor "Brighton Towing" for cars that park in the Walgreens lot. As a paying customer of Walgreens, parking in a space with a 30-minute time limit, my car was towed and required to pay $170 to get back. Cash only, and the person in front of me was charged a completely different rate. The customer in front of me was then told that the towing location had no change available - so the customer either have to wait hours for change, or agree to a higher price. The tow truck drivers wait in the Walgreens parking lot for cars to tow, and their staff treat people with disrespect and discrimination. As a female, I was told to "cut my attitude" because the towing office worker "wasn't in the mood and didn't have time for me." Shame on you, Walgreens. read more

If I could rate zero stars for this pharmacy, I would. Warning everyone that there is a sign that states 30-minute parking is permitted. However, there is no guarantee your car will be there when you return. My car was towed from the lot in less than 30 minutes by a company called "Brighton Towing" located just behind the store. When asked why the car was towed before the 30-minute limit, Brighton towing company employee told us it was "corporate policy". Neither the pharmacy staff nor the tow company claimed responsibility and could not provide any explanation why the car was towed. I was forced to pay $174 in cash to get my car back. Another customer at Walgreens said that the same thing happened to her for $190. Both the pharmacy and the tow company are preying on customers who park in the Walgreens lot. read more

Not a bad location. It is never busy at least when I visit the store. There is plenty of parking. That I didn't like about this particular Walgreens was that they have poor selection of pets food. Other stores have better choices. But overall it is a decent pharmacy. I used to print photos in the past. If you are looking for a Good quality photo printing I will suggest you to go to a photo studio. If you are looking for cheaper prints, Walgreens is definitely the place to go. I know it is weird to review a Walgreens, but I must. This one is the closest to where I live, and so I often have packages delivered there. As an official "FedEx delivery spot" you'd think they have some experience in this - you'd be wrong. I had my meal service delivered and couldn't get it until the next day. Typically, the amount of dry ice they put in the box can keep the contents pretty cold until then, but when I picked it up it was very, very hot. Wherever they had stored my clearly need-to-be-refrigerated item wasn't even room temperature, it was HOT. There must have been some humidity too, because there was mold on all the food and the inside of the box was super wet. Other delivery locations I have used can accommodate these types of packages (especially those who have a fridge area already for their drinks and dairy, Walgreens!!) Separately from the package experience, this place is always understaffed. There is usually what appears to be one employee in the entire store, and the checkout line is always at least 8 or 9 people. Definitely not the quick-stop you'd expect. read more

The pharmacy is the worst place ever. No matter what they will never keep my insurance on file, any of my doctors notes, nothing. Completely incompetent! So rude and zero help. Pharmacies are struggling with a labor shortage, made worse by the high cost of education (they get phD's folks) and increasingly rude customers. This particular pharmacy, operating under stressful situations, was ultra kind, professional, and helpful to my son and myself. I applaud them for their grace under pressure. Allston walgreens is cool bc they charge 79cents for tp per roll. during covid-19 there is a 2 roll limit 10 rolls for $5 so 50 cents a roll but since the 2 roll limit 79 cents each but the rolls advertise the 50 cent price if you buy 10 so my friend complained and the cashier was blah but the black manager was awesome super cool dude made sure we were happy love that dude give him a promotion peace read more

DO NO GO HERE!!! Got my car towed for parking just 10 minutes over the parking limit!!!! I had to pay $129 in Cash to Brighton Towing Company!!! Walgreens employees and Brighton Towing Company are running a NEXUS. As soon as they notice the customer is not in walgreens they intimate the towing company (which is located literally one street down). If you end up with a package delivered to their FedEx center - stay persistent. Had a package containing $200+ worth of goods delivered there and took me 3 visits over 2 days, a 45-minute phone call and finally having FedEx intervene for them to "find it." It had arrived 4 days prior to me going to pick it up and they "looked everywhere" and couldn't find it. The manager was visibly frustrated with his staff. I asked, "Can I know why it was so hard to find?" He replies: "It wasn't." Terrible staff. It's a shame. Good location with decent parking for the area. LOL - past yelper reviews here are ridiculous and made me chuckle. Look, it's a WALGREENS. If you don't like it because the store doesn't welcome you with baskets of fruit and workers fawning over you as soon as you walk in, you can go down the street to the Stop n Shop plaza with the Dollar Tree, cross the street to go to CVS, or go down towards Comm Ave to the 24 hour Shaws. I read a lot of people complaining about the workers here, which is fair. I've never had issues though. I come here about once a week to buy eggs ($1.79/dozen) and turkey bacon (2/$3) and whenever I check out at the front, the associate is there and will always greet me (or respond to me greeting them -- let's be real, some workers just don't do that) and will ask if I have a card, if I want to sign up for one, if I would like cash back, etc... Sounds to me like they covered all the basics as a cashier/customer associate. Also, about this location: - It's open late - Convenient location right at a bus stop - Parking lot - Prices that are comparable and usually cheaper than CVS - Great rewards program Like I said, never had my pictures developed here which was a major concern for a lot of yelpers, but to be honest who develops pictures anymore? Walgreens needs to figure out a way to train the staff at this particular location. They have no idea what customer service means. One time, I asked someone to help me locate something. They told me that it would take at least five minutes for them to log into the computer to check, so they asked me to go to the Coolidge Corner location instead. What!?!? Worst thing is I recently tried to print a 4x6 photo that I intended to use for passport photos. They wouldn't give me the photos, saying that it's Walgreens policy to not give away passport photos for $0.19, since they want to charge $10 for it. (i checked and it's true). My beef is about cash price without insurance: Ciprofloxicin 250mg was $36 while Costco Waltham was $7 Both were generics. Seems like they have a "deal" with insurance companies. This place is okay. That's a really good assessment of it, to be honest. The location isn't great, especially if you're driving. It's on the verge of an especially busy five-way intersection, complete with a public school and a fire station. What's more, the lights are erratic, cross signals make no sense and there seems to be no real discernible traffic pattern. Once inside, it's a mixed bag. I LOVE the product selection. Prices are good, products are spot-on to the area, sales are great and the seasonal stuff is always fun. But there are problems. It seems like nobody works there, really. Maybe two people in total. And one of them is always a terrible, rotten, miserable individual who hates his or her job, will not speak to you and will glare if you ask for help. The other person is always silent and a bit slow upstairs. I really wish there was a better store like this in the area. CVS doesn't have as good deals, nor does 7-11 or Tedeschi offer the right variety of options. I wish this store was better. It needs a lot of work. Right now, this store really sucks in some ways, but I'm stuck with it. read more

They have a relationship with Brighton Towing around the corner and will tow your car within minutes. I made sure to purchase items from walgreens before leaving my car in the lot for 30 minutes. It didnt matter, I ended up paying $129 to get my car back I could literally see it from the walgreens parking lot. obviously the city of allston/brighton/boston is completely OK with this practice. the tow yard is watching the lot 24/7, and they will be on your car so quickly you will be astounded. if you make your living off of screwing over good people day and night, karma has a way of catching up with you. this goes for the tow yard, the walgreens franchisee, and city of boston parking enforcement. read more

If you live in union square, Walgreens is a shining beacon in the night. Easily walkable, open at odd hours, with fantastic staff you really make a connection to. The people who work here aren't dead inside. Parking and towing is terrible no matter where you go in Allston. There is not a morning here where I don't see tow trucks everywhere waiting to pounce on behalf of the city. Walgreens can hardly be blamed for that. read more

I would give this place no stars if I could. I stopped to pick up a mascara when I got a page from the ED given I was on home-call on an urgent consult. To protect the privacy of the patient I was being paged for, I stepped outside to find a spot without people nearby to coordinate the patient being admitted between the ED, consult resident, attending on service. I was back in ~50 mins time to find my car towed. Even though I showed my receipt of the product I'd bought, the pages from the ED, the store and the towing company made me pay to get my car which they had towed while I had to attend to a patient as a physician. read more

I only go to this store when absolutely necessary. It's a pleasant surprise when I leave *not* having been overcharged for something. I'm sure they make a tidy sum doing this, as half the time it just doesn't seem worth it to go back and deal with the surly and/or nonexistent employees. And that's assuming you can even find someone to help. The front registers are never manned, which might be ok if they were paying attention and came to help you quickly...but nobody's minding the shop (literally). The last time I was there I waited for more than five minutes--with all my stuff laid out--before a (theoretical) manager said he'd take me over at the photo counter...which turned out to be where the remaining "employees" were hanging out and giggling. This place is terrible, the customer service is a joke. I would not recommend that any one shop or open an account at this location. The staff is very creepy and unprofessional and make you vulnerable to identity theft and fraud as well as being assaulted. 1,] The staff state your personal information out loud such as your name and address leaving you to possible identity fraud and potential stalkers.[SEVERAL STAFF MEMBERS HAVE DONE THIS MULTIPLE TIMES, ONE IN PARTICULAR] 2.] The staff members may crumble your receipts in anger,even though you asked for them. 3.] The staff members can be rude and can be racist 4.] The staff members may block the aisles leaving carts and other materials in the aisles that may cause the customer serious injury. Be aware of their emergency terminology because code C3 it is always announced when ever I shop at this particular location. I don't know how this place hasn't been investigated yet. read more

I had to get a vaccination here as my usual pharmacy did not stock that type of vaccine. The pharmacist was extremely helpful and customer service from the pharmacy tech was excellent. I often stop into this branch for small items and have always had friendly cashiers as well. It's good to have them in the neighborhood and parking is easy. read more

I've been using this pharmacy for more than a year for a very common prescription and have never had anything but issues. They were calling, texting, and emailing me multiple times a month to remind me to request a refill, and those reminders would continue even after I had filled and picked up my prescription. Once I managed to get all those communications to stop, it's as if they refused to acknowledge me anymore. I would request a refill using their online system, and it would be pending for days. When I would call to inquire, after several minutes navigating their obnoxious phone system and another several minutes on hold, I was always met with attitude and a refusal to fill my prescription within a 1-hour window despite several days of patience. I finally transferred my prescription back to the Harvard Vanguard pharmacy, which is not convenient or close, but has 1000x better customer service. Now that I don't have any prescriptions at Walgreens, I have no reason to ever go back there again and for that I am thankful. read more

They go out of their way to be unhelpful and are completely rude. Are these folks even trained? I ordered a photo print job for a Xmas present through Walgreens.com, to be picked up in the Allston store on Dec. 24. All was set and I had an email confirmation. I called the store an hour before the scheduled pickup time. The store representative said that the machine had been broken and wouldn't be ready in days. He transferred me to the manager. The manager was more pessimistic and said that the machine wouldn't be ready in weeks. I asked her to help me transfer the order to a different store so I could have my present ready on time. She said she was unable to help me with that. Instead, the whole time she pushed to cancel the order for me. I insisted to keep the order as I didn't want to cancel the order as yet --- it had taken me more than an hour to upload the photos and create the order selection. The next thing I knew was, the order disappeared from my Walgreens account. Do not send any photo jobs to this store. You may never see it fulfilled. read more
