This is probably one of my favorite Walgreen's and it's probably because i am a little biased about it. It's right down the street from where i live and it's next to Stop and Shop. Very easy to get to and always lots of parking spaces do you don't have to worry about finding a spot of getting ticketed. Stuff are always stocked and staff are generally friendly. You will almost always find what you're looking for. I had a bunch of printed coupons from the printer. Some places don't accept them but they do here. If I could give Walgreens zero stars I would. They don't keep medications in stock and it always takes days to get them delivered to the pharmacy. They lie about the delivery date. Worse, they claim that my asthma medication needs a prior authorization and when I call my insurer, they say it doesn't. Then Walgreens claims there is a limit on how many I can get total. Not true, per my insurer. This medication is filled monthly and Walgreens always messes it up. Always. I really hate them because they aggravate me and make me wait for days for a medication I need ASAP. Why can't Walgreens get its act together? read more

Pharmacy staff were nice! I got my vaccine appt quick no waiting, and it didn't hurt! Thanks :) Always something fun in here. The prices are better if you enter your phone number, or look things up online and submit the order for pickup, because sometimes online prices are a bit lower. Like any drugstore nowadays if you buy makeup, check first that someone didn't open it to test it. Sad but with lipstick etc at $15 to 20, people apparently are not willing to take a chance of getting the wrong shade... Photos- imho they're usually pretty good here compared to other stores in the area! Wherever I order photos, I call ahead to check that the machine is working and someone is on duty to run it. It's pretty fantastic to be able to get same-day posters, greeting cards, prints etc and they often have discounts on the website. I love the peel n stick posters. Went for COVID booster and flu shot. The pharmacy team was hard-working, capable and friendly, but the way the system is set up leaves a lot to be desired. They seemed to be understaffed, juggling filling prescriptions and giving shots, and they required two identical hand-written Vaccine Administration Records, even though I arrived with mine fully filled out. It took a full hour beyond the appointment time, while the same process at CVS was much better organized and essentially in-and-out. read more

One time I got drunk and came in and bought a bunch of random shit. I paid for it all, and was walking out, when the alarm bells started ringing. It was like a scene from a CDC thriller. I fully expected steel shutters and clean suits. I got body-searched TWICE. In the end, the sweater I'd bought earlier that day at old navy had a security tag they forgot to remove. From day one the pharmacy experience has been less than acceptable. Never once have I received the correct dosage my Provider has subscribed. They didn't even explain why they were only providing me half dosages and that's if they weren't cancelling my orders all together without my knowledge. This making me miss a dose. Making contradictory claims that my insurance company wouldn't cover which was entirely incorrect . I found the customer service to be unprofessional and inconsiderately lazy. Decent pharmacy but horrendous photolab! This is mainly a review of the Walgreens photolab. The pharmacy itself is similar to other chain pharmacies. The staff at this particular location are very nice. The photolab is a veritable disaster. Understaffed, it's hard to get help if you get stuck using their automated self-service stations. The interface for the system is slow and confusing. I can't imagine how painful it must be for older customers who did not grow up with computers or for younger customers that are just learning how to use them. The worst thing is the quality of the prints. I went there to print 1080P high-definition prints from a digital camera. I printed a 4x6 inch and 8x10 inch print. I could have gotten better quality from a color inkjet printer. The 8x10 inch print is unusable... grainy with color bleed and over saturation of whites. Just to be clear, the original digital image was outstanding. The 4x6 inch is barely usable. The gloss finish is uneven. I was planning to use the pictures for a mother's day gift for my wife but I'm going to have to print them elsewhere. What waste! Stay away from Walgreens for your photo needs. You have to work pretty hard to screw up digital prints. Congrats Walgreens, you guys found a way. read more

I absolutely hate coming here. They are so close to me so I kind of have to use this place.. They never have my shaving cream, they have few toiletry items, and the organization of this store makes absolutely no sense. Plus it just seems dirty. (Although I feel this way about most walgreens and their organization) When do end up buying something from here it's super overpriced that sometimes I just go to stop and shop instead (it's right next door). The lines at the register are always a pretty long wait and there will only be one or two people in front of me.. But it takes forever. The pharmacy is even worse. There must just not be enough people working back there because the line is ridiculously long and when it's not the person who filled my script messed up and I have to wait. I understand that part of the screw up was my doctor, but a phone call letting me know from the pharmacy would be nice. While the staff in the main part of the store is generally helpful and friendly, I have had TERRIBLE luck with the pharmacy staff. Normally I get all my prescriptions through the mail but I had a mix up once, and had to use this walgreens out of necessity. My doctor called the pharmacy first thing in the morning and told them it was imperative that I get my pills ASAP. When I called them back a few hours later to see when they would be ready, that acted like they didn't know who I was and couldn't find my order in the system. My doctor had to call them back TWICE. When I called them back around 1 pm to confirm that they were working on my order and to ask when they would be ready, they said they wouldn't be done until 5:30 PM! A full 8 hours after my doctor first called! Completely ridiculous, especially since this particular medication comes pre-packaged so there is no measuring or anything involved. Yesterday I called to order a refill of Flonase. I received a cryptic voicemail not long after I called saying that my order had been delayed. There was no explanation. I went to the pharmacy to ask what was up and they said that they were out of Flonase, and had been out for like 2 months. They said it was backordered. When I asked the pharmacist what I should do, she said that every walgreens in the area was out and I should go back to my doctor and have them write me a prescription for nasonex. She was extremely rude and unhelpful. WTF walgreens?! I called a CVS this morning and they were extremely helpful and thought it was ridiculous for any pharmacy to be out of such a common medication. They said they had plenty in stock. I am NEVER going back to this Walgreens pharmacy again. read more

I thought this store would be very convenient for me to pick up my medication as I live on The Hill and my grocery store is right next door to this Walgreens. Instead, this pharmacy is been the most inconvenient thing that has happened to me. Every single time I go to pick something up, the store will have a new problem for me. My most recently problem was that a vacation override could not be handled and they refused to help (not straight out refusing to help but giving attitude, leaving me on hold for 5 minutes, telling me they have a "system error" nobody has ever heard of) and the technician gave me attitude and then hung up on me. It was extremely rude, and called at least 3 times to try to sort out this issue. They also told me it's not their job to call my insurance--it's funny because I am a pharmacy student and I worked as a tech before--it is EXACTLY their job to call the insurance in this case. I then called my insurance and they told me I am wasting my time calling and that the pharmacy needs to call the insurance. Awesome sauce. After almost 30 minutes of this back and forth, the pharmacist called me saying she can TRY to fill it tomorrow. I asked if it will be done by around 4pm or so, she says "I don't know." Horrendous. The insurance company finally said "enough, the "system error" nobody from this company has even heard of cannot guarantee my prescription from being filled, so it was finally transferred it to a CVS. Let me just say I had a lot of respect for Walgreens before my experiences at this store in particular, now I definitely cannot say the same. read more

Wow, I'm the first to review this Walgreens? I hate it so much! I know there are a lot of Mission Hill Yelpers so I'm just really surprised that nobody is as "what the?" as I am... This store is always a MESS. Merch all over the floor. Open containers. The toy section looks like a hurricane hit it. I have nothing really bad to say about the pharmacy... picking up a prescription is painless, but as a retail store this place leaves much to be desired. The kids working there making minimum wage or whatever definitely hate their jobs. A lot of inappropriate yelling/swearing back and forth to eachother. Security guards that just could not care less what's going on. Cashiers that can't crack a smile EVER. Totally unhelpful management team. Don't buy the freezie mugs, they just crack in the freezer. read more

Running on absolutely no sleep and the promise of filling a prescription for antibiotics, I managed to get myself to the Walgreens at Brigham Circle. Once there, I realized that I didn't have all of my required insurance information with me. It was also at this time that I caught my reflection and discovered that I legitimately looked like I had just crawled out of my grave. Despite my undead appearance, the woman working at the pharmacy was incredibly respectful, helpful, and patient while I called my parents to fax over the stuff I was missing. Everything worked out immediately and within 15 minutes I had the pills in my hand. Even though I was at fault, they really took care of me. The store itself is a little bit untidy...but I mean, whatever. Who's going to Walgreens for the decor? Its a really, really reliable pharmacy and a hell of a lot closer than the CVS on Mass Ave. read more

Probably some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I've been to the store several times since it is so close to my house and the employees are extremely rude and unhelpful. One woman argued with me when I said there was a coupon she had missed. In the end, she finally ended up calling the manager opening up the draw and finding the coupon that did not go through but after having to defend my position. Secondly, I placed a photolab order and the products ended up falling apart shortly after receiving them after having to wait several hours after the specified pick up time. When I called to talk to the manager, the employee said that they did not know when he would be back and that he just comes and goes as he pleases. Very disappointing. read more

I have never had one positive experience here and I've been coming here for the past 2 years. Prices are way too high, ($12 .50 for a can of spray tan that Amazon sells for $8.00), shelves are often un-stocked, line at the pharmacy moves at a glacial pace (I age ten years before I make it to the pharmacy window) and when you finally do get to see the pharmacist they probably won't have your prescription in stock or won't be able fill it without making any mistakes. This store is so ratchet, they even keep the laundry detergent locked with a three alarm security tag (no exaggeration). I came in to take my blood pressure at the pharmacy, but it turns out they don't even have an electronic cuff that you can use, instead I had to wait in line, ask the pharmacist, who then took 15 minutes to try and locate a mandatory form for me to fill our before I could wait (again) for someone to take it manually. Waited 20 minutes and gave up, if my blood rows sure wasn't high before, it certainly is now. read more

HATE this Walgreen's...& if it weren't ridiculously close to my apartment, I would avoid it like the plague it is. Have had difficulties refilling a monthly prescription here more than once. One time they only had a 5 day supply of my monthly supply & didn't tell me until they rang me up... at 1/2 the price of the full prescription. I mentioned this to the person ringing me up & he assured me if I brought in the paperwork I wouldn't be charged the full amount the next time (wrong)... & while it was a 5 day supply, a full refill was not available after that 5 day period. Also, they don't call you to tell you that your prescription is out of stock & won't be in for days - No, they make you wait in line forever to find out. The last time I was in here, they told me they needed 3 hours to refill my prescription. OK, I come back after 3 hours & they tell me that it will be another hour & then wait a minute - do we even have the drug in stock? ... I left, transferred my prescription to CVS & have been happier ever since. I wish I could say these are the only issues I've had with this store, but sadly, it's not. Whenever checking out at the front, there is always a 5 minute wait even if there is only 1 person in front of you - the cashiers here are slow. read more

The customer service and level of professionalism in this pharmacy is absolutely abysmal. No matter what time of day, there is always a line when I come in (that's fine, this is a city); however, they typically have only one or two of the five registers open, and some of the cashiers are some of the absolute slowest cashiers I've ever seen. When you have a line 8-10 people deep, is it really necessary to have slow and in depth conversations with your customers? MOVE ALONG PLEASE. The area is a little rough so it is expected that the crowd should be a little diverse but we never have any big issues at this location. We go there to get prescriptions, ink, and other random stuff that they don't have at Stop & Shop. Walgreens is generally Walgreens. This one is right by my work and charges fairly reasonable prices for stuff I have to grab before heading in. It's set up really poorly, though. The grab and go stuff (e.g. bottled coffee drinks, sodas, and miscellaneous snacks) are on the far side of the store, and I have yet to find the Kleenexes. What really grinds my gears, though, is that I have never once been in here when the cashier wasn't too busy doing something else to focus on her customers. She is either on the phone regarding a personal matter or talking to a friend who is standing by the register. I don't expect a ton of personal service and I'm not much of a talker, but at least a "Hello" would be nice. She doesn't even know what the item of the day is and just asks me if I want to purchase this "item of the day." No, I don't think I want to purchase something you can't even name. I get that real life happens and that sometimes personal stuff can't be avoided while at work. I've been there. But, every single day? That said, I'll be back next time I'm headed to work and really need some cold meds or a bottle of Diet Coke to get through the day. There's not really much of a choice. While the store itself is clean and the staff are nice, the pharmacy is awful - every time I try to refill a prescription and ask for the earliest time to come by, I am told it's 3-4 hours, which is simply unacceptable. I have been to many different pharmacies and Walgreens over the years and have never seen this kind of delay - I am not sure why it should take so long to fill a simple prescription, and if they are understaffed, they should hire additional people (they are across the street from Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, for godsakes!). I have also seen long lines at the pharmacy while the pharmacists are on the phone, and instead of other pharmacists coming to the aid of the long line, they fail to distribute work appropriately. It's a shame because this is a central and busy location, and I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future. read more

The pharmacy here is terrible. The staff is poorly trained and none of the prescriptions I have sent there have gone through properly. Today, I was told that they had not received the faxed prescription my doctor's office sent yesterday. I called and spoke with my doctor's staff who personally called the pharmacy while I was on hold. They were told that the fax machine was down. She personally conveyed the prescription to the pharmacist. I just called 2 hours later and the prescription is still not available for pick up. Incompentency at its worst. read more

The only problem I have with this place is their "1 HOUR" photo department. The men that work in this part of the store refuse to develop and print anything in the amount of time the signs outside & inside say they will. I also have my doubts about their knowledge of developing the film rolls themselves. I don't think they agitate it correctly because (and I'm an art student, I've studied & practiced photography, I know what I'm doing when I take a picture) many photos I've taken that I knew had plenty of light have come back completely black from them or just not at all. read more

This is pretty much your run of the mill pharmacy. The location is great, but a lot else about the store leaves a lot to be desired. They have two registers, but rarely open up the second one. Nearly every time I'm in there, there is a line of four or more people. Service is really slow. Other than that, check prices of things at the Stop and Shop four steps away... I went in yesterday and bought shampoo from Walgreens before grocery shopping- lo and behold I found the same product at Stop and Shop for over $1.50 cheaper. read more
