Avocado toast with poached eggs
Amy S.

Found a gem! We were heading to our bookmarked spot when the sign said closed. I was already hangry so time to find breakfast quick. Did we get lucky! Just a few does down was this... or new destination while here. I had the avocado toast with poached eggs and Joe had the croissant. It was delicious and he said the cappuccino was also great. The service was wonderful with everyone checking on its as they passed by. I have a feeling we will be back in the next couple of days. Enjoy!

Came to the "W" café for a quick lite breakfast and coffee. It is a little off the beaten path on a side street around the corner from Schloss Schönbrunn. The service was good and the food excellent. The problem I had was the bill. Each and every single item you request from water to condiments such as butter and fruit spreads are separately charged. The prices are fairly steep for what they offer (Euro conversion to dollars): Croissant = $2.35 Fruit spread = $1.76 Honey (sugar substitute for coffee) = $1.18 Lemon slice (for still water) = $0.59 Cappuccino = $4.95 Green tea = $3.30 Avocado toast w/poached eggs = $9.40 The workers asked us how we discovered their restaurant... and even though it was delicious and the service good, we chose an alternate early morning eatery for the remainder of our stay.

Seems like a cool place but the service is very grumpy. I'm told that the Viennese are just that way and not to mind.

After several nights in Vienna without having tried schnitzel, I was on a mission to find an…read moreauthentic spot on my last night here. Found this cozy spot a few blocks off the Stadtpark and figured I'd give it a shot. So glad I did. it was pretty packed when we got ther, we were able to get a high top table after just a few minutes wait. Ordered the beef tartare and schnitzel. Be forewarned, they don't skimp on the portions here. The tartare was delicious and came with a salad and about a half of stick of butter, which was interesting. Schnitzel was big enough to feed at least two people and left me feeling like I had finally experienced a real local meal. Wine was also great and made me wish I could have stayed there drinking it all night. But alas, I had an early flight to catch the next day...

Quite tight seating. Restrooms are not accessible by people with limited mobility. No baby changing stations. The food is okay. The schnitzel was fine and so was lamb. Okay to eat but not memorable. Caprese salad was tasty. In conclusion, if you are passing by and hungry, feel free to stop by. If you are looking for a memorable lunch/dinner experience, plan to visit a different establishment.

We were looking for a spot for dinner that was close to Schönbrunn palace and noticed this…read moreonline-it's a short, easy, 15-minute walk from the palace gate to the restaurant situated in a pretty little village just outside the palace walls. It's a big lively beer hall with big long tables and lots of groups enjoying themselves after work. Our table for two, situated upstairs in this massive place was the exception. Waiters were efficient and we they provided us with English menus to make choosing from their dozens of options easier. Like other Austrian restaurants we've visited this trip, the portions are massive-they make the US-sized big portions look small. My wife's chicken "schnitzel" (thin pounded chicken breast) was two large pieces that each covered the 10" dinner plate and was served with about a pint of German potato salad while my fresh fish (fried perch) wad two 8" long pieces, about an entire head of steamed broccoli and a couple of cups of buttery parsley potatoes. In addition we ordered their version of a caprese salad (tomatoes and fresh mozzarella with basil) that also filled an entire large plate. I suppose owing to the size of the restaurant (must seat at least 300-400), the food arrived super quick-salad in about 5 minutes and main courses very shortly after. With a couple of glasses each of a local red wine, the entire meal was less than 50€! Unfortunately we couldn't even eat half the food although from our perch on the 2nd floor looking down across the balcony, we did observe lots of local people, including women, who did! Bottom line, festive place with a great value.

We sat outside in the shade and enjoyed the buffet. We were pleased to find a green salad and a hot veg dish among the regular Austrian fair. It was good. I would recommend it to others who are hungry after walking in the schloss.

The place is known for traditional Vietnamese food with the highest quality, and I find their portion sizes to be great and large. Inside the restaurant is richly decorated with Asian ornaments and designs. Faux flowers and plants also make the environment pleasant and relaxing. The servers I have met have always been very warm and courteous. I have been here many times so I am very familiar with the place! So, let's get down to the food. First of all, I like to enjoy tea when I eat out. Here featured is my favorite tea I like to get at Hanoi, called Lo Han Kuo, which comes from leaves of what is known as Chinese "magic fruit/longevity fruit" sweetened with a cube of brown sugar. Then as an appetizer, my partner likes to get their sweet-sour soup with chicken that gives a spicy kick. Meals are served with silverware, chopsticks, vinegars, chili sauce and of course, Sriracha hot sauce. I personally like to order Pho Bo, a rice noodle soup with beef and scallions with Thai basil leaves, lemon and bean sprouts served on the side. Absolutely delicious!!!!!!!!! My partner really likes their crispy duck with fried rice noodles and vegetables. For the portion sizes, I find the food to be well priced.
