Went here on Saturday, 25th 2020. Was looking forward to a good cup of coffee. Was very disappointed. I ordered a mocha latte with almond milk. They were out of almond milk. No big deal, items run out sometimes. I chose skim milk instead. The drink tasted watered down, could hardly taste the chocolate, and coffee was very weak. I know coffee and it was not good. My other friends said their coffees were also weak tasting. However, staff was very friendly and my husband said the blueberry muffin was great. Would not go back for coffee though:( read more

Great place in a quaint little town! We traveled from Miami for a North Carolina winter trip, and visited Saluda for a few hours. Stopped at Wakey Monkey for a light lunch and loved everything we ordered. Matt grilled up some sandwiches and whipped up smoothies for our 3 kiddos, grandma had a delicious frittata that she couldn't stop raving about, I had a tasty butternut squash soup topped with goat cheese and couldn't resist taking a cinnamon roll to go! Really bad and I mean bad coffee. The food is decent but the coffees always taste way too acidic. I visit coffee houses all over western north Carolina so I'm not a snob but I do like good coffee. The service has declined since changing ownership. Last time my wife and I visited we were treated poorly, they forgot one of my coffees and acted like I was inconveniencing them by asking for it. Did not feel welcome and will not be returning. read more

Great coffee and super friendly service! However, the cashier didn't seem to pay attention to us when we were ready to pay.

This is probably the best place to eat in the town of Saluda. We stayed right above the owners of the joint- they have their own chicken farm right in the front yard and were even very accommodating of us coming to meet their feathery friends. The restaurant itself was extremely clean, with a variety of price wise dining available- not many items run more than $10, making it an affordable and repeatable experience. Once we found the Wakey Monkey, we went every day, the guys are great, and you have to try the curry they make!! read more

Omg this place is absolutely a must go! The chocolate croissant is absolute heaven with the right amount of chocolate! We also tried the cream cheese blueberry danish- to die for! What an adorable cafe in an adorable town! We found this spot unexpectedly and it was the perfect place for a yummy breakfast. I had a warm oatmeal and quinoa bowl and my husband had an egg and cheese croissant. Both delicious! The two employees wore masks and enforced customers to as well which was great.
