If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience with Sun Warehouse in Raleigh was a masterclass…read morein dishonesty, disrespect, and unprofessionalism, topped off with a courtroom drama that could rival the Jerry Springer Show. We were referred to Sun Warehouse by our contractor during a kitchen remodel. We ordered what was advertised as a midnight blue kitchen. What we received was 5 shades darker. When we raised the issue, we were told to "unwrap it in the light" and that we were "difficult customers" for wanting the product we had actually selected and paid for. We returned the very next day with proof in hand, the discrepancy was obvious, but they refused to take accountability. Instead, they stonewalled and dismissed us. What happened next was a comedy of Errors Turned Courtroom Clown Show. Rather than doing the right thing, Sun Warehouse sued us for $9,209.70--more than double (!) what we paid for the entire kitchen (~$4,600). That alone speaks volumes about the integrity (or lack thereof) of this business. They clearly inflated the amount in hopes of intimidation or getting a windfall. Spoiler alert: it backfired. When we represented ourselves in court (because we didn't see the value in spending thousands on legal fees for such a transparently absurd claim), we encountered a deliberately evasive and immature company. They: Refused to respond properly during discovery. Had to be served via a process server after ignoring certified mail multiple times. Attempted to reject legal service at their place of business. Sent mail and documents with the wrong names and addresses, either t through incompetence or pettiness. Even attempted shady intimidation tactics by involving our former contractor, who suddenly reappeared with offers to "help" us. At arbitration, Sun Warehouse didn't even send their attorney. Instead, they sent Miss Arlette J. Fernandez, listed as their "representative." We like to call her The Face of Unprofessionalism. She was 15 minutes late, rolled her eyes when she walked in, and made childish faces at us like a scorned tween in middle school detention. She: * Lied under oath, claiming my husband and I picked up the kitchen ourselves (I was bedridden at the time, and we had only one vehicle--an SUV incapable of transporting an entire kitchen). * Claimed to have surveillance footage and papers but yelled that she'd "show it when she felt like it." (Spoiler again: She never did.) * Snapped at us repeatedly during arbitration and told my husband not to approach to show evidence (which, if you've ever been in court, is exactly what you're supposed to do when presenting evidence). * Accused me of illegal behavior for writing honest reviews, claimed I used a "fake name" online (it was my maiden name tied to an old Google account), and tried to equate a customer's truthful review with criminal activity. If this is the person they send to represent their business, one can only assume how deep the dysfunction runs. The arbitrator saw through their lies and exaggerations, awarding them only $2,500--a fraction of what they demanded, acknowledging the validity of our counterclaims. Justice prevailed. They got nothing more. No inflated figures. And certainly not the satisfaction of deceiving the court. We are satisfied with the outcome and like to share a word of caution: * Customer service is abysmal. Expect to be gaslit, dismissed, and talked down to if you raise a concern. * Professionalism is nonexistent. The behavior exhibited by Arlette was not just unprofessional, it was disturbing. * Integrity is lacking. From inflated claims to courtroom lies to intimidation attempts--they'll go to shocking lengths to avoid responsibility. * The cabinet quality is poor. They scratch easily, chip under normal use, and look cheap once installed. Do not spend a dime here. The short-term savings aren't worth the emotional, financial, and legal nightmare that may follow. When a business is willing to lie under oath, fabricate evidence, and disrespect court proceedings, you can safely assume their internal operations are just as shady. Avoid Sun Warehouse. You deserve better.
