Once again we are filled with pride, happiness, and gratitude for the superior work done by Wake Remodeling. This master suite renovation was our second project with them; the first was an award-winning kitchen remodel. And there will likely be additional projects as we have developed trusting relationships with the company owner as well as the crew. They provide detailed estimates and adjust whenever necessary. Work began on the exact day scheduled. There was a minor delay due to the pandemic - completely understandable. They communicate regularly so that we always knew who was coming, when they were coming, and what they were going to do. If there was a day or time inconvenient to us, it was rescheduled. They cleaned up the work area before leaving every day. Clearly, their goal was to ensure our satisfaction at all times. Any and all concerns were immediately addressed. This was a major renovation of the master bedroom, bathroom, and closet that included replacing the bedroom carpet with hardwood floors stained to match the rest of the house; installing wood ceilings in both the bedroom and bathroom; and a complete overhaul of the master bath. Our shower was in bad shape, our tub took up a lot of room and served no purpose as neither of us used it, and the entire bathroom was outdated. The bathroom remodel was designed for aging in place and includes several grab bars strategically located as well as a high-tech toilet with bidet and heated floor tiles. The tub was removed and the shower relocated to that area. Above the tub was a large picture window that was removed and restructured into a transom above the shower that allowed for both light and privacy. That, of course, required brickwork on the outside of the house. Now, we have a large, stunning shower with treated glass, a seat and two showerheads - one is a wand next to the seat. Moving the shower allowed for custom vanities with drawers that are extremely functional being specifically designed to hold hair styling tools and a makeup area for seating. We asked them to accommodate lighted glass sculptures and their cabinet maker designed a tower specifically for this purpose and the electrician set it up so the cords from the light bases were not showing. Once again, we worked with their gifted designer who guided us through all material selections. She offered options and truly helped with the decision process. When it comes to choosing tile, cabinet styles, hardware, and paint colors she has the ability to pull it all together in a way that generates stunning results. Her guidance was priceless! Fresh paint everywhere, new fan and TV mounted in the bedroom...all perfectly done. Wake Remodeling even has a "cleaner" who comes in when all the work is done to ensure everything is spotless! And when we dinged the walls moving the furniture back into the bedroom, the painter returned and touched it up. In the last 30 years, in prior homes, we have done many, many renovations and experienced both good and bad contractors. I didn't get past the estimate stage with them so keep that in mind. We wanted a basic renovation for our small kitchen, nothing too fancy, just new midrange cabinets and countertops. No changing of layout or moving walls or plumbing. They quickly gave us an estimate but it was dramatically higher than estimates at other places, even specialty ones. I called and asked for clarification because the price given was more in line with filling a much larger kitchen with fully custom, fully solid wood (no plywood or fiberboard) cabinets and top-of-the-line countertops. They couldn't tell us what the cabinets would be made of or how they'd be constructed, which concerned me, but they did say that if we removed our old cabinets ourselves they could cut $20,000 off the price. Were they really planning to charge us $20,000 for cabinet removal? The cost per sq. ft. for their countertops was in line with other places that gave me estimates so I really struggled to figure out what the rest of the price was meant for. Even with a $20,000 discount the cost was higher than all other estimates from area kitchen remodelers. So that was my experience with them for whatever it's worth. If you decide to go with them, I would highly suggest getting very specific details about the materials and construction methods that will be used, also get a list of where each dollar is going to go. EDIT: I do not use my real first name on this site for security/safety reasons so that's why I am not in the records, but I checked the address and this was the correct location. Our initial estimate was $35,000 and when my husband called for clarification, the employee's exact words were "if you remove the cabinets yourselves we can get it down to $15,000." The employee was unable to tell us how the cabinets would be constructed, what they would be made of, or any reason why removing our old cabinets would cut so much off of the price. I'm sorry the manager is unhappy that I did not have a positive experience, but I believe the best path forward is to offer more training to employees who answer the phone. read more

Wake Remodeling did an excellent job with repairing a room that had been damaged by a storm. The work was done very well, and on schedule. I found it very easy to communicate with the contractor (luke Dobbins) and the workers. I did have to get paint colors changed, and they have been very good about working with me to fix the issue. I don't mind issues when they are addressed and corrected. I chose Wake Remodeling because the price was very good, the BBB rating was very good, and they had excellent marketing on their website and on social networking. read more
