After a quick 15-minute inspection, they claimed the water pump needed replacement--even though the car has only 39K miles. They said it had leaked previously but wasn't leaking now. $500 to replace. They also recommended replacing the cabin filter for $112, even though it's a $10 part that takes about a minute to change with no tools. The oil change was priced at $91 for just four quarts of oil and a filter. When I received the inspection report, the promised undercarriage photos were missing. The technician claimed they "wouldn't post" and had been deleted--yet other photos were included. This wasn't a true pre-purchase safety inspection but rather an exaggerated upsell on repairs. I usually don't post reviews, but this experience needed to be shared.

The fiasco…read morestarted with Robert Steffen many months ago when I took my classic auto in for a transmission leak. He kept it a while & then sent it back to me. The transmission still leaked, but it was a smaller leak. I had to take the car back again and it was now winter. I was assure that the car would be kept inside, in dry storage. Robert proceeded to take nearly 3 months to finish up- in the meantime, I was asking him what was going on and if my car was OK. He assured me it was just fine. And another bill for $1288.00 . When I picked the car up it was FAR FROM FINE - completely wet on the inside with mold and mildew growth, the headliner falling out, and panels ruined. Robert is unapologetic and obviously doesn't care that he ruined the interior of my nice classic vehicle. One of his first responses was " I guess I can't take nice cars here anymore!" I tried to file an insurance claim but my insurance doesn't cover that type of damage . It would be easy for Robert to step up and do the right thing; but obviously he doesn't care about the people that pay his wages. In addition, there were chips in my driver side door. Just to repair the basics, not the whole scope of damage his negligence caused is over $3000.00. I would be very careful and dealing with the shop and this man because he has zero integrity as a human being .

He was patient with me on the phone, asking a lot of probing questions. Beginning with the battery, which was in working order. Keith theorized that it might be the starter switch. But, they wouldn't know until I brought my car in. I brought my car in expecting to pay hundreds of dollars for parts and labor. But, before they began anything diagnostic on my starter, Keith had my battery checked. ... I though this was weird, because it was working "just fine". Or, so I thought. Hudson Car Care found that the side of my battery was bulging! They charged me a fair price for a new, quality battery, installed it for free, and sent me on my way.
