I really enjoyed this meal! I have never been to Wajo Sushi before this visit but wanted to get some takeout to try it. The reviews were good. When I walked in the restaurant it had a small, cozy feel to it. I was surprised by the presentation of the meal because I wasn't expecting much for a pickup order. The sushi was delicious and I'd definitely come here again!

Got takeout. They were so kind, had my food ready on time, and were mindful of my allergy. Love the drawing on the miso soup.

I found Wajo Sushi when I was searching around. I did not know it was so close to the area I live. I have to say it was refreshing to see. The service was great! The ambiance reminded me of a restaurant in Korea! The food quality was alright. I wished they had the menu items I was looking for but, it was sadly not available. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a small local shop that isn't owned by a large company!

I happened upon Wajo Sushi by accident, driving home tonight and having not had sushi since many months before Coronavirus began. What a great find! The signage on front is a little misleading in that their grand opening was December of 2019, but that's okay because between the grand opening sign and the open for business sign on a Friday night, my car drove itself into the lot. There's plenty of parking in front and exactly on Milwaukee Avenue in Riverside Plaza. Inside, it's very clean and bright and modern, with a very Japanese vibe. The decor is gray and white with the slightest touch of mauve or pink. It's welcoming, happy and energetic. I dug the cool digital menu board above. It's important to say, also, that the setup and staff are very covid-19 conscious. I ordered spicy tuna roll, and eight pieces came in the incredibly fresh and very pretty order. Alongside, I had two pieces of tobiko maki, piled high and bright and colored like a blood orange. In the corner was the standard blob of wasabi and a smallish pile of pickled ginger. In the opposite corner was finely shredded carrots and cabbage mixed together. Everything was divided nicely by the usual green plastic grass and two slices of lemon. Dinner was served on a cool, see-through purple, disposable plate. All of the drinks are served in bottles in a beverage cooler. There are number of Japanese choices and little tiny cans of Coca-Cola and other interesting things. I took a bottle of refreshing aloe juice. BONUS: there's a small sign at the cash register that says "free soup" and it's for everybody. So, for a starter, I had an absolutely delicious bowl of miso. It had just the right flavor in every way. My spicy tuna roll was so fresh and moist. There was enough of everything packed inside underneath the drizzled orange sauce. The eight pieces were modest in size but filling because of their moisture and nice flavor. They were not too fishy but also not bland, just right in the middle. The tobiko maki were larger in size and filling. The roe itself/themselves (How do you call a thousand little eggs collectively?) was not bursting in flavor, nor was it super poppy crunchy, but the pieces were piled high, very pleasurable to eat and filling. Customer service is always key, and the three staff members were so professional, polite, friendly, and helpful. Prices are very reasonable that Wajo Sushi. Way to go, Wajo! Arigato gozaimasu and see you soon!

The following review is based on experiences before the COVID-19 pandemic: Love the concept, not so crazy about the food. Wajo provides a wide variety of Japanese favorites in a more casual setting. Prices are a bit closer to what you'd expect from a fancier full service restaurant but I didn't find the flavor or execution of the food particularly special. The food itself isn't bad, presented nicer than the fast casual that you'd expect from an Asian supermarket or food court, however the food was nothing impressive, particularly in comparison to Sushi Gallery that used to occupy this spot. I found the California roll to be a bit monotonous in texture, without the creamy avocado and crunchy cucumber that I associate with this dish. The edamame was a little on the soft side. The salad was very generic, lacking a tasty miso dressing and the lettuce could've been more crisp. The tonkatsu was fried nicely, but the meat itself was quite lean and the sauce was mostly forgettable. The salmon poke bowl was a bit too spicy with vegetables like edamame, avocado cucumber, and lettuce that didn't taste super fresh. The salmon was also a bit lean and didn't have a great level of firmness. Overall an alright choice but there are options with better food and prices not too far away in other parts of the suburbs.

Excellent and fresh rolls/nigiri. Prices are fair and taste good. I would recommend you this place if you feel for sushi for pickup/delivery.

We ordered three rolls of sushi, the tastes was good. The environment of restaurant was good and clean but after we ordered at the front desk then sat down, we didn't be served a cup of water or be asked if we need anything to drink so we change our order to takeaway. We like dine in at the restaurant that actually provide service. When we got our food and I guess we met the owner, he was very friendly and make sure we got the soy sauce and chopsticks.

I've had my fair share of sushi, and I must say...the rolls were BOMB. Had the salmon dragon and volcano rolls. 10/10 Also, they threw in a freebie. This is the kind of good vibes I needed right about now with everything going on. Thank you to those at Wajo!! You all rock. Wishing you the best.

They've put the same level of attention and care into their selection of sakes. Service was warm and friendly, but never pushy or bothersome. They sent me a free dessert when they overheard my wife mention it was my birthday, it was a complete surprise. They also very thoughtfully asked if I'd like them to sing (I did not). That kind of thoughtful service reflects the comfortable, laid back atmosphere they've maintained, a welcome change over many high end sushi establishments that can be too stuffy. If you love sushi, you owe it to yourself to visit Kaido.

One can sit at a table or the main sushi counter. The night I visited, it was rather slow which allowed staff to thoroughly wait on us. I asked a couple of questions about the menu. Our server explained that the most popular rolls were the Garlic Salmon, Mafia, and Hamachi Truffle. Most premium maki come as 8 rolls with the exception of Pink Flower and Tequila which are served as 6. All rolls are made to order with fresh ingredients. I also loved that they offered three options for veggie rolls as it's still my preference! To start, we ordered both the Lychee-tini and Old Fashioned cocktails. They couldn't have been more different in flavor profiles. The Old Fashioned was spirit forward yet smooth. It had a really nice finishing note that directly came from the Japanese Whiskey used. The Lychee-tini was sweeter and had good flavor. I also loved that there was actually a lychee at the bottom of the glass. For mains, my husband got the Mafia and Hamachi Truffle rolls per the staff's recommendation. He explained that the Mafia rolls were more of a mild heat. He preferred the Hamachi Truffle roll as it had a more unique and depth of flavor. I got the Black Garden roll without the jalapeño. I loved the freshness of the rolls and thoroughly enjoyed the veggies mixed with the sauce it had. We both agreed that all rolls tasted like they were made with premium, high quality ingredients. Once we finished, the chef came out to ask how we liked everything. Kaido's service level was amazing with staff clearing plates, refilling water, checking in on how we were doing, and just making sure we had the best dining experience. The details didn't go unnoticed and makes perfect sense why they have such an amazing Yelp score! Highly recommend visiting Kaido Sushi and looking forward to my next visit!

This is an adorable sushi/ramen restaurant that appears to be family owned. It's such a cute little space and I saw that it had a lunch menu that I definitely need to try out. I went with my family on a Monday night at around seven and there was only one other patron there. I don't think the word has gotten out yet, but this place is going to get packed when people see and taste the quality of the food. Our waiter was great and super polite. We had great service and our food was timed and served perfectly. We started with edamame and gyoza and everything was outstanding. Super flavorful and very fresh. My son ordered the I Love Salmon sushi combination plate. He said everything was super fresh and delicious. He is quite the foodie and if he says something is good I believe it. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, which was outstanding with big pieces of pork in it and my husband ordered the spicy vegetable Ramen, which lived up to its name! I did like that there were vegetarian options on the menu. This is going to be a place that I go to regularly. I still enjoy the big pieces of fish and mix of cucumbers, avocado, seaweed with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. There was a time it included edamame but doesn't look like it is included anymore. My kids ordered the spider roll, dragon roll and beef udon that came with a california roll. The rolls were a good size and had a good ratio of rice to other ingredients. The pieces of sashimi are good sized with appropriate amount of rice in each piece. The salmon kama is a nice appetizer. It comes out scorching hot and crispy. It can be tricky to eat because of the bones, but worth the work! I really like the design of the booths with the authentic decor resembling Japanese architecture. I don't like that the tables are consistently sticky when we eat there and if we don't get a booth, the tables are wobbly. No matter where we sit, there is always a table with a wobbly leg. The service is always super welcoming and friendly. Our waiter may have been new and still in training because we waited 24 mins from when we asked for the check until it was brought to us. And even then, I had to ask the busboy to remind our server for the check because he kept walking in and out of the room taking other tables' orders and refilling water. Upon realizing the long waiting time, the server was apologetic and still very kind which I appreciated. As we were leaving all the other staff made a point to say thank yous and good byes.

The place itself is tiny - only two tables - but the staff were super friendly and attentive. They were really lovely to chat with! One small thing: the guy working there could probably use an apron, as his shirt and pants looked a little food-splattered. However, since fellow Yelp Elite friend Howard L. recommended BluFish to me, I had mentally put it on my to-try list for a while. Recently, both my husband and I decided to give it a try, and it did live up to the hype! Although the restaurant looked smaller in real life, it was chic and modern looking. We made a reservation for 2 on the same day on a Wednesday, a couple of popular time slots had been filled. When we went at 6:00 pm, the restaurant was bustling. We were promptly led to a 2-person table in the open dining room. My seat had the nice view of the sushi-making station, which was super busy. There was an area with all high-back booths, which seated 4 each. Our area was quite loud, fortunately, my husband and I could still hear each other. Our server, Kassie, was very pleasant, sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive. She truly contributed a lot to a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. For appetizer, I was going to order Crab Cakes, but changed my mind after learning that even with the wasabi sauce put on the side, the crab cakes would still be spicy hot. I ordered an order of Takoyai ($9)(six pieces) instead and shared that with my husband. It came out piping hot and was cooked just right, with a light and crispy skin and perfect texture. Just delicious! My husband ordered a Chilean Seabass entrée ($36) which had a generous portion. I was interested in getting some sushi rolls. You can pick long or short. Kassie answered my question that long was about 8 to 10 pieces, while short being 5 to 6 pieces. I ordered one long and one short to get some more variety, understanding that it would be too much food for the two of us. I ordered the long Green Turtle ($18) -- one of my all-time favorites, and a short Smoky Bear ($14). Everything was delicious, even though my husband said that the seabass was slightly overcooked. The ratio of sushi rice to the other ingredients was perfect, and all of that were fresh, tasty and balanced well. I have recommended BluFish to my other family members and relatives. We will definitely be coming back. I would be happy to try more different sushi rolls from their extensive menu.
