Naomi was the sweetest ever! She made our experience super special. I needed handicap accommodations and she was able to help with what we needed. We would definitely come back and bring our kids! The view to the ocean is beautiful! Highly recommend for everyone to upgrade your room experience.

Cock a doodle doo! You ever wanted a rooster every morning to wake you up? Well heres your chance. Theres a nearby rooster down on the street that makes noise all morning. theres - no hotel lobby - no business work space area - no gym - no pool - and the elevator broke (great for walking up/down 7 floors with a baby stroller) What else... - door seeps in light from hallways at night - door is about 2 feet from elevator so you always hear people - hotel shares space with 'EGGs and Things' restaurant so its super crowded every morning. - wall paint is chipping and old - flashing white light at ceiling from the fire alarm (terrible for sleeping) - carpet is damp - AC unit is super loud and nasally. it also drips water - beds are rock hard and pillows are ultra flat - pee stain on bedsheet - shower water is strangely super cold or super hot - lots of street noise (but this is okay because its in the heart of Waikiki and at a great central location) - rooms are very small, so its hard to get thru door with strollers, luggage and other things - probably also suffers from the oval design of the rooms due to the circular shape of the building At this price point, its all for the location but we were so dreading the nights because the beds were so uncomfortable. Instead of relaxation, we came home with aching pain in our back, neck and shoulders. This place is in dire needs of updated beds, paint, carpeting and plumbing.

A very good experience for my friend and I! Front desk was kind and welcoming. Room is perfect for a place to stay for a weekend. Will come back for our next staycation!!! Thank you Ashton!

Had to hang my own curtain since it seemed the one in room was broken. Light was beaming so bright inside.

I booked this hotel president weekend. When i first arrived i was told my room was upgraded to a ocean view, no charge. So i was stoked! Parking was $45 a night. When i first entered the room, it was tiny. Especially for the price i paid. My room was about $300+. My bathroom had used hand soap in the holder. That was already red flag. I noticed my sliding door had no curtain as seen in pic. I had to hand the blanket. There was absolutely no privacy. I was on the 3rd floor which is right above the eggs and things restaurant And closer to the road. The outside noise was so loud and there was some drunk man screaming for a good 1-2 hours. I am very annoyed and wonder what you could do to fix this situation....

This location can't be beat. The rooms are small, but for the easy access to the beach and the fun amenities they provide for the price I think it's definitely worth it. There's free filtered water in the lobby along with free movie rentals that's perfect for nights when kids are just too tired. They have paddle boards, floaties and sand toys you can borrow on beach days too. We stayed in an ocean view which was quite beautiful to sit and people watch from. Big plus is eggs n things is downstairs so you can grab breakfast and enjoy up in your room. Definitely would stay again.

Better than a Stanley!

I absolutely loved this hotel. Low key and less expensive compared to bigger names in the area, but didn't take away at all from the basics I need-- a balcony, ocean view and fresh air. The view from our room was perfect and the staff were all so nice. As a book lover, I liked that they have a mini library in the lobby. I was already reading a book on Kindle and I finished it one lazy afternoon at the beach, and then didn't have time for more. However, I love the concept. They also give you one plastic water bottle per person, with the name of the hotel on it. To me, that's way better than the famous Stanley because it comes with memories and adventure. They have water-filling station in the lobby, next to the library. There was only one time I was less than happy when a guy in the reception in the morning told me there is a limit of sugar I can have per day, when I asked for extra sugar for my coffee. It hit me the wrong way because a hotel that's charging over $300 a night can afford the sugar. What did he think I was going to do with the sugar, sell it for profit? Lol. My dude, I actually consume that much sugar per coffee. Luckily the good experiences greatly overshadowed this small bad moment. John and Steve were always great and they never said anything when I asked for extra sugar.

Not the fanciest hotel in Waikiki..but this establishment is one of the best bang for you buck and has one of the best ocean views of the beach. It's right smack in the middle of the city so everything is walking distance. Across the street from Duke's statue. ABC store just downstairs off the building, and an Egg n Things breakfast place (that's always packed) just off the front desk. The rooms are small, but clean, updated, and adequate...it has a fridge, coffee maker, but no microwave. We didn't really mind because we spend our time outside enjoying Oahu anyway. What this hotel makes up for and definitely makes it worth it is the perfect ocean view you'll get (if you get the ocean front rooms). Parking can be troublesome if you have a rental car because it is very limited, although they have additional parking that's about 2 blocks away from a sister company. We lucked out and got parking in the building. The host, Shawn, is one of the nicest you'll meet. Very hospitable and very helpful. The staff are all very nice as well. They have a wall with pictures and history of the hotel by the front desk...I recommend you read (or at least browse through it). It gives you an appreciation of the hotel and its owner. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Balcony view of Waikiki

This was the 2nd of our two hotels in Waikiki during our 1 week stay. Hotel #1 (outrigger beachcomber) for its convenience to food & shopping; hotel #2 (Waikiki Circle) strictly for its beach front location. Its an older hotel that offers little in luxuries & comforts but more than made up for it by its prime locale. We pre-booked the most expensive ocean front room 2 months in advance, but at the check in the gentleman wanted to put us on 4th floor which will only have a tree top view of Waikiki. He offered to put us on upper floor if we pony up extra $25 per night. Why am I always the victim of unscrupulous practices? sigh.... Anyways we decided to pay and was upgrade to 12th floor. There was also a resort fee ($25 + 1.18 + 2.56, daily). For a small hotel without any gym, pool or other facilities I don't think that was justified. The moment we entered the room we knew it was prob worth the $25/night ransom. From the entrance alone we already had an unobstructed view of the blue Pacific. Perched from the balcony the view was even more stunning: to the south stood the imposing Diamond Head, to the north the iconic Moana Surfrider hotel, Kalakaua ave (Waikiki main strip) was right beneath us. Right in-front of our hotel is the Waikiki beach & Duke's statue, literally a Brady to Gronk TD throw away. Everyday we sat on the balcony and listened to the sounds of the sea, watching surfers riding the waves Sunset was magnificent as we faced almost directly toward the West, even in the morning and during the day the sight and sounds were fabulous. Even if they charged us $50 extra per day we would have gladly oblige, will even throw in our pet dwarf hamster Sophia on top. The room was dated and had that 1970's vibe: old decor, small bathroom, tiny shower with lukewarm water & anemic pressure. On the positive side it has a Keurig maker and most importantly a safety box. The queen beds were comfy, pillow were not overly fluffy but adequate . They were low profiles so more ideal for my bad back. Daily newspaper was delivered to the door, beach towels are avail upon request, ice machine down stairs but no water station. There is no lobby, 1 gentleman in the booth next to the elevators handles all transactions & interactions. They are probably the descendants of Mrs Kwock the original founder. Next door there is McDonald , egg & things is affiliated with hotel but guests enjoy 10% discount by showing hotel card. If you venture 1 block to the east you will find a hidden gem called "Mac", it has no line & far superior food. We ate most of the time in places further up North near our hotel #1, around Inter Market & Royal Hawaiian Center. Overall we had a pleasant stay & would def consider returning for its prime beach front location.

We stayed here for a staycation for my birthday last weekend. You cannot beat the location and friendly (but not bothersome staff). Something that is overlooked for locals is the amazing access to the surfboard locker! My husband and sons were able to keep their boards downstairs in a safe area and go for a surf anytime (check in with front desk to grab the key). We had to park off-property at a nearby hotel which was a little bit of a trek, but we didn't leave once we got to hotel. If parking lot is full they do have a loading zone they let us use to haul our things to and from our room at checkout. Rooms are small but the large balconies more than make up for it..people watching at its finest :). There was even a 1/2 marathon happening out front on one of the mornings of our stay (complete with loudspeakers and music etc) and we had the balcony door closed and you couldn't hear anything! Overall, we cannot wait to plan another staycation to Waikiki, and looking forward to staying at this fun hotel again!

It blends old Victorian charm with modern amenities. The rooms are understated yet spacious but with bathrooms on the smaller side yet include a toilet with heated seat and bidet. Beds and linens are very comfortable. Mini fridge but no microwave is to be expected. Pool area is small with no hot tub so if extravagant pool areas are your thing you might be disappointed. The breakfast buffet is excellent, but you'd expect that at $53 a person. The food at the Beach Bar next to the huge 122 year-old banyan tree is good but not memorable, 4 stars at best. The High Tea in the afternoon is the highlight for $88-$137 a person. Well worth the experience. Dinner at the same Beachhouse on the Veranda is also excellent and also very pricey but worth it for the special occasion/vacation splurge. The Beach Bar food is hit and miss but on average maybe a bit pedestrian for this caliber of a hotel. Given the location, historical nature, unique dining, and room comfort of this hotel, when rates can be had for mid $500s (2026) a night for an ocean view, I'd normally consider that high given the small pool area, but the historical nature makes those prices reasonable. Experiences could vary here based on room selection. The Diamond Head side Tower Ocean View have the best view I think.

Review: Beautiful property with lovely touches, but rigid service and poor beach access fell short…read moreWe recently completed our first trip to Honolulu, staying at the Halekulani while nearly seven months pregnant and traveling with our 3.5-year-old. As many mention, the property itself is pristine--calm, spotless rooms, excellent toilets, and comfortably sized showers and tubs. The nightly turndown treats from housekeeping (ranging from chapstick to custom coasters) were a delightful detail we looked forward to each evening. Breakfast was included and decent, though it skews heavily toward traditional Japanese options. As a pregnant guest, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of basics like oatmeal, and the requested toast turned out to be basic white bread. We encountered some exceptional team members. Donna at the front desk was wonderfully warm, remembering my son's name from our second day. A lovely woman at the pool with very long hair and a gentleman who plays in a band were also fantastic--he consistently helped us set up cabanas so I could stay out of the direct sun. Unfortunately, two major issues significantly impacted our stay: * Unprofessional Pool Management: The pool manager (who did not wear a nametag) was surprisingly rude. After another attendant helped us secure a shaded cabana the day prior to ensure I had sun protection while watching my son play, the manager confronted me about "saving" cabanas. Considering the hotel was not full, the aggressive tone taken with a heavily pregnant guest was completely unwarranted and unlike anything I've experienced at a property of this tier. * Misleading Beachfront Experience: The hotel advertises itself as a beachfront resort, but the accessible beach area is extremely minimal with choppy water. Between the lack of loungers or shade and the large Mai Tai catamarans constantly docking right next door, swimming isn't practical, nor is relaxing on the sand if you need sun relief. We truly wanted to love our stay, but given the premium price point, the combination of poor beach access and an unnecessarily hostile interaction at the pool left us thoroughly disappointed.

Mr. Mark, the resident cultural teacher at the Ao Cultural Center, took the time to educate us about the native Hawaiian culture with such grace and Aloha. He taught us how to create a traditional Ti-leaf Kupe'e bracelet and even gave my daughter and I authentic Hawaiian names, KaNoeau (The Wise One) and KaUauluwehi (Waterfall of Abundant Nature). The Outrigger Reef Waikiki is more than a hotel. It is a magical experience full of Aloha with outstanding staff that creates an atmosphere that is irreplaceable!!! However, Ambrose said he'd see what he could do and was able to get my boyfriend and I a room early. We've been to Oahu several times but this was our first time staying at Outrigger. Our room was awesome (clean and spacious with a lot of closet and cabinet space) and the balcony came with a pretty good view. It was nice to have some poke and beers on there. You can even cast shows from your phone onto the TV which I appreciated. Location is so convenient and walkable to a lot of restaurants and shopping places and the beach. Yes it is super touristy but that's Waikiki for you. Although we only stayed for one night (on our way to Japan), I appreciated seeing all the activities that Outrigger offers on the schedule that they provide for you at check-in. A restaurant called Monkeypod is conveniently located within the building and they have the best maitais. It's super helpful that an ABC store is also located within the vicinity to grab snacks, drinks, and some souvenirs. Overall the place is really nice and the staff is so welcoming and kind. Would definitely love to stay here again!

Hilton Hawaiian Village: Over 30 Years of Visits, and Still One of My Favorite Places in…read moreHawaii....!!! BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): An absolutely spectacular beachfront resort in the heart of Waikiki! After more than 30 years of visits, Hilton Hawaiian Village remains one of my favorite places in Hawaii. Incredible location, expansive beachfront, wonderful amenities, and gorgeous ocean views. This visit included a fantastic Diamond Reserve welcome, an ocean-view upgrade, and Friday night fireworks enjoyed from our private balcony, cocktails in hand! Five stars, without hesitation! The Details: I've been coming to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort since the 1990s, and I absolutely LOVE this place! In fact, even when I lived in Hawaii back in the '90s, I'd occasionally treat myself to a staycation here. There's just something special about this resort that keeps bringing me back, decade after decade! We just arrived for another wonderful visit, this time for 12 days! We're combining a business trip and convention next week with two extended weekends of enjoying everything Waikiki and Honolulu have to offer. Not a bad way to mix business with pleasure! My wife will be hard at work the whole time...! (On her tan) ;-) This visit was particularly memorable because I recently achieved Hilton's new Hilton Honors Diamond Reserve status. Upon checking in, the wonderful lady behind the counter noticed my status, raised her eyebrows, and exclaimed, "Wow! You're the first person I've met who's achieved that status! Congratulations, and welcome to Hawaii!" What a fantastic way to begin our vacation! Even better, we received a beautiful upgrade to an ocean-view room with sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, Waikiki Beach, and iconic Diamond Head. And as luck would have it, our balcony was perfectly positioned for the resort's famous Friday night fireworks! Rather than fighting the crowds gathered along the beach, we enjoyed the entire show from the peaceful comfort of our private balcony, cocktails in hand, watching the fireworks explode against the night sky above the Pacific Ocean. Absolutely spectacular! It's moments like these that remind me why I've loved this property for more than three decades. Another thing that makes the Hilton Hawaiian Village so special is its incredible location. You're right in the heart of the action, with easy access to Waikiki's restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and attractions, yet the resort itself feels like an entire tropical village. There are numerous restaurants, bars, pools, beautifully landscaped grounds, and one of the biggest advantages of all: a huge, beautiful stretch of beachfront right outside the resort! Unlike many other Waikiki hotels, where beach access can be limited or crowded, the Hilton Hawaiian Village enjoys an exceptional beachfront setting. It's also a surprisingly convenient location for business travelers, including those visiting military installations around Honolulu & Joint Base Hickham Pearl Harbor. I've always appreciated being able to handle business during the day and return to what feels like a Hawaiian vacation in the evening! After more than 30 years of visiting, I can confidently say the Hilton Hawaiian Village remains one of my favorite places to stay in Hawaii. The atmosphere, location, amenities, spectacular ocean views, and wonderful memories keep bringing me back. And this visit, with our Diamond Reserve welcome, beautiful room upgrade, and front-row balcony seats to the Friday night fireworks, is already shaping up to be another unforgettable stay! Five stars, without hesitation! Mahalo, Hilton Hawaiian Village!

Beautiful Ocean Views, but the Amenities Were Disappointing…read more My husband, our two daughters, and I stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for three nights. While there were some wonderful highlights, the overall experience left me underwhelmed. Rainbow Tower & Housekeeping -- Excellent! We stayed in the iconic Rainbow Tower, and the ocean view was absolutely breathtaking! The room was very clean, and daily housekeeping deserves a round of applause. I also found the room rate reasonable, especially considering the beautiful views and beachfront location. Breakfast Buffet -- Overpriced and Underwhelming At approximately $50 per person, I expected much better quality and variety. The highlights were the excellent, high-quality bacon and four tropical juices, including guava, passion fruit, and orange. Unfortunately, the rest of the food was rather bland and uninspiring. The selection was limited, with options such as eggs Benedict, omelets, and loco moco. Overall, it felt like an ordinary hotel buffet with a luxury price tag. Swimming Pools -- Nice, but Good Luck Finding a Chair! The resort offers several pools, including two children's pools near the lagoon. Unfortunately, both were extremely crowded, and finding an available lounge chair was nearly impossible. The seating arrangements simply didn't seem adequate for the number of guests. The oceanfront pool near the bar was another disappointment. Although the pool itself was nice, there were no lounge chairs, only tables and regular chairs. This meant that at least one of us had to remain seated rather than comfortably relaxing by the pool. Not exactly the resort experience we had in mind! The largest pool was beautiful and suitable for adults and children, but equally crowded, making it difficult to find anywhere to sit. Lagoon & Beach -- The Ocean Wins! The resort's saltwater lagoon is convenient for families, but I wasn't impressed. The bottom had an unusual texture, almost like artificial sand, and whenever it was disturbed, the water turned milky and cloudy before settling. I can't speak to the actual water quality, but it didn't feel particularly fresh or inviting. I much preferred the ocean! The beach was beautiful, and we had a wonderful time swimming. There were some waves, so extra attention is needed with small children, but the ocean was definitely one of the highlights. Elevators -- A Frustrating Experience! The Rainbow Tower has a smart elevator system, which sounds great in theory, but during peak hours, it was an absolute nightmare! We waited over 15 minutes just to get an elevator, which is completely unreasonable for a resort of this size and reputation. We were in the 22nd floor. Going up and down became unnecessarily frustrating, especially when traveling with two young children. A modern elevator system should make things more efficient, not leave guests waiting nearly an hour just to reach their rooms or enjoy the resort facilities. This was another major disappointment and something management seriously needs to address. Final Thoughts The Hilton Hawaiian Village offers spectacular ocean views, clean accommodations, excellent daily housekeeping, and a beautiful beachfront location. However, the overcrowded pools, inadequate seating, disappointing $50 breakfast buffet, and underwhelming lagoon made the experience less enjoyable than expected. For a resort of this size and reputation, I expected a more relaxing and comfortable family experience. Would I stay again? Probably not. I'm glad we experienced it, especially the gorgeous Rainbow Tower views, but next time I'd prefer a smaller, quieter beachfront hotel where enjoying the pool doesn't feel like competing for a parking spot!

Five stars across the board. Best service. We booked a stay last minute because of a power outage and then had to book subsequent nights which made explaining and moving rooms a bit messy but front desk was on top of it every single time. Even if I had spoken with a different person, they kept impeccable notes and went above and beyond to help us. I am beyond grateful that even though we had to deal with craziness of the hurricane, this hotel was the bright spot in our day. Cleanliness was also good. Out of the 3 rooms we had, I only called housekeeping once for a minor pillowcase and sheet change which they did immediately and apologized for. I recommend this hotel to all and look forward to staying here for pleasure in the future too.

Stayed here for about a week. The room was a decent size and well appointed. We had a nice view…read moreof the marina on the North side of Waikiki. This hotel is basically the last hotel in Waikiki. You go farther North and you're at Ala Moana park. So the room was nice. The view was nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. So why the 3-star review? All because of the parking situation at this hotel. First off they charge you a ridiculous $47 a day to park!! Not only that but parking is extremely limited. The hotel is 30 floors tall but the parking garage is only 5 floors. So if you go out during the day you'd better be back early or you won't have a spot when you get back in the evening, especially on the weekends. They will valet your car for free if the parking lot is full, but then you have to tip the guy. If they have the room to valet your car if the lot is full, then they have enough space for you to be able to park your car. The gym was pretty basic but you could get a decent workout in. The pool was decent with a nice little infinity pool area.

Hilton Grand Vacations Hokulani is our favorite hotel in Waikiki! It's consistently clean,…read morewelcoming, and very kid-friendly, which makes it an easy choice for our family. Room is spacious with a living room area that divides the sleeping room. Bathroom is twice as big compared to other hotels. The location is also excellent right in the center of Waikiki and within easy walking distance of so many great food options, shops, and attractions. The rooftop pool and hot tub are a nice bonus and a relaxing place to unwind after a day out. The gym is well maintained and has weights, a Peloton, one treadmill, an exercise bike, and two ellipticals. My only wish is that the gym was larger and had a wider variety of exercise equipment. Overall, Hokulani is a comfortable, convenient, family-friendly place to stay, and we always look forward to coming back. Pro tip: you can only ask for a later checkout the day of at 6:00AM. I wish I would have known sooner. Checkout is 10:00AM, late checkout is an hour later at 11:00AM. The receptionist told us all the checkout spots were taken, but was nice enough to let us stay till 10:30AM.

Since the hotel is in such a central location, expect some street noise, especially at night. One of the highlights is the rooftop. Brandon, the bartender at the rooftop bar, was incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome every time we stopped by. The rooftop pool is more of a relaxing lounge pool than a pool for kids, which we actually appreciated. It's a great place to unwind rather than a place for children to splash around. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed. Every room has a balcony, a full-size refrigerator (not just a mini fridge), and a decent-sized kitchenette with the basic essentials. The bathroom is also very spacious with double sinks, a center vanity, a soaking tub, a separate shower, and bidet-equipped toilets. Housekeeping is provided on a designated day during your stay, so don't expect daily service. If you need extra items, the hotel offers a nice selection upon request, including yoga mats, kids' teepee tents, bathrobes, humidifiers, and other amenities. We didn't need additional toiletries, but it's convenient to have a Longs Drugs and ABC Store right downstairs if you forget anything. Parking is valet only and costs $50 per night, so keep that in mind if you're renting a car. Overall, Hilton Hokulani is a great choice if you're looking for a comfortable, well-appointed hotel in an unbeatable Waikiki location. The owner perks are a nice bonus, the staff is friendly, and the spacious rooms keep us coming back.
