Disappointed timeshare owner:
Kathleen at the front desk…read morechecked us in, she was fabulous, friendly, funny, had a great time with her. Concierge staff was super nice. Housekeeping folks were great. Location was great, shopping, cat cafe, good restaurants right along the street outside of the resort, easy access to three ABC stores, one with a deli, beach and Waikiki access for a short up to 1 mile walk, free hula lessons, lei making, bingo, a game room with Switch and Xbox S, and a couple of 1Up Arcade boxes whose controllers don't work so well, a pool table, and a small library on a book shelf. We tend to wipe things down when we get into our room, and hats off to housekeeping, the wipes came back pretty clean. We had four people in a two bedroom and it was decent. We weren't bumping into each other except in the kitchen. The gym was small but functional. 2 treadmills, bike, and elliptical, free weights to 25lbs, straight and incline bench, weight machine.
Now, onto the bad. First, the resort itself. For a fairly brand new resort, the furnishings were cheap. The kitchen table was wobbly to a fault. The wicker kitchen chairs were meh. The paint job was not well done in our room, lots of poor caulking. Let's talk about the kitchen - the washer and dryer are in the kitchen behind a folding door, situated in such a way that the dryer door won't open all the way and keeps trying to close on you. Hitting your head at least once on the dryer door is a foregone conclusion. The washer was surprisingly spacious while yet looking small from the outside. The dryer's lint trap was busted and kept coming apart every time we tried to clean out the lint. The fridge and stove were ok, no issues there. Some of the pans were past their prime and so stained and a little rusted looking that we didn't use one of them. The kitchen sizing itself is rectangular and two people at a time in it was a squeeze.
Living Room: The couch (and possibly pull out bed, we didn't use) was a little uncomfortable to sit on. The balconies all looked down into the street and small shopping mall, but was mostly blocked by the palm trees on our floor. There was a chair on each of the three balconies, but there wasn't much more room than that.
The A/C unit was powerful - set at 76, we would freeze, set at 78 would get a little hot. The living room and each of the bedrooms had a 3 wing ceiling fan which surprising did a good job on low and high settings once you learn how the wall switch works.
The bedrooms were okay, the beds comfortable. The guest bathroom was not very wide, but usable. The master bathroom with built-in soaking tub was big enough for two. The shower was just a bit bigger than a cruise shower, but it had hand holds for those who are less than coordinated or need assistance (not me, but I like when they plan for those guests). The toilet closet gets a bit warm with the door closed. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. They didn't look like much, but they did alright. Has a closet with hangers which was appreciated.
Second, supplies. Of course you can order free sundries, but we had to order almost right away because our room wasn't well stocked for more than a day or two stay - we stayed longer than 1 week. Our shampoo, body wash in the showers, and bathroom sink hand soaps were already low when we checked in and we ended up running dry on them. I do appreciate when places offer these things - saves us packing - but would it be too hard to ask them to top them off or at least fill them 3/4 when 4 people will be staying in a 2 bedroom room for longer than a week? We didn't want to hassle having housekeeping staff enter our room, so we ended up using our own soap/shampoo.
Third, valet parking. As an owner I have to pay to park my car. I know lots of places do it, but a 7 day stay at $60/day is $420 to park your car and that's before any tipping. Where is the everything included promise when you buy a timeshare?
Fourth, and perhaps the worst of all was the constant push for us to tour. Oh, they vehemently denied it was a tour - said it was an update for things we already pay for, but it's ALWAYS a tour and sales presentation - don't kid yourself, and unless you are cold, direct, and rude, it's never 45 mins, it's always 2 hours! Then they say they will comp us with 2-3+ days of our valet parking if we attend. So it's a presentation to show us what's new that we are already paying for, but will only comp some valet costs IF we attend a presentation that's meant to benefit us? I call bull. Then there was the pushy nature of staff trying to get us to attend one of these sessions. From the guy at check-in to the calls to housekeeping all came with repeated attempts to get us to attend. Saying no was not understood. STOP trying to sell me more time, I have enough and I'm already an owner and your customer. I really dislike that!
I would still stay here again as it's a great location, and I deal with the bad items I guess.
