We had an absolutely incredible stay at Aston Waikiki Beach Tower -- easily one of the best experiences we've ever had traveling. The view from our room was unreal... hands down the best we've ever had. We've stayed at beachfront resorts before, but nothing compares to how close to the water we felt here. Waking up and seeing the ocean right in front of you is next level. The entire property was spotless -- seriously clean from top to bottom. The beds were super comfortable, and everything just felt well taken care of. What really made the stay special was the staff. From the moment we arrived, the reception team welcomed us like family. They even memorized our names on day one, which says a lot. Anytime we needed anything, they were there immediately and genuinely happy to help. The valet team was also amazing -- super friendly and always on it. Little things like that go a long way. Location is perfect -- you can walk to everything in Waikiki, which made the whole trip so easy and enjoyable. The pool area was clean and relaxing, and having FREE parking is a huge bonus. Overall, this place honestly felt better than some 5-star resorts we've stayed at. It made us feel at home in the best way possible. Stunning Views and Total Convenience!! We first discovered this place via VRBO for our wedding, and coming back three years later was just as special. It's pricey, but worth almost every penny for these reasons: The Upsides: -The View: True panoramic, beachfront, unobstructed ocean views. - Free Valet: Finding parking in Waikiki is a nightmare; having a free valet spot included is a huge win. - The Units: Huge, charmingly decorated, and they have an in-unit washer/dryer (my favorite feature!). - The Vibe: Centrally located but surprisingly quiet. The Downsides: The only reason it's not a perfect 5/5 is the "luck of the draw" with maintenance; we dealt with a broken toilet during visit one and a 23-story trek down the stairs during a false fire alarm this time. We had an amazing stay at the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower. Our two-bedroom suite was spacious with a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, and beautifully updated bathrooms with bidets. The pool is on the smaller side, but is heated and never crowded. Although the hotel doesn't have on-site restaurants, there are tons of options nearby. The location is perfect, though the hotel's insulation could use some improvement, as it was a bit noisy at night, but the view of both the beach and Diamond Head made up for it. This place is awful. We have had great experiences from staying at the Aston in Maui. The place is a dump, there is mold on the floor and as a first night here when there was a person laying on the floor on the phone for two hours, I called the front desk to complain, and they asked if I was drunk. They obviously are a failing business and the amazing stature of other Aston's allows them to appear great. Would not recommend. read more

This hotel is in a perfect location for reaching tons of foodie spots, the beach, the boardwalk, and the zoo... The rooms were perfect and the kitchen plenty... Staff were helpful and always had a smile. The parking for the week was super reasonable, and plenty for sure... Note that the parking is open to the public also, so if you're driving in the area and need parking, this is the place!!! The Only one thing keeps this place from being 5 stars is the elevators. Sometimes, you would be waiting what seemed like an eternity to catch one of them... I think they should have a service elevator for staff because the carts take up space, and with all the people staying here, every inch of the elevator is definitely needed. If you're looking for a place to stay that is reasonably priced, close to the beach (two minute walk), and has a full size kitchen, this place is for you. The two bedroom suite was perfect for our family with kids under the age of three. Huge living room and enough space for the six of us. It was our home away from home. Amazing service right from the minute we arrived. We gave our name, they were ready for us. Gave us shell necklaces, welcome drinks, and wet towels. The front desk person walked us right to our room to show us around and how things worked and gave us a goodie bag with full size reusable water bottles, beach/water toys for the kids, and toiletries for sunbathing. There were also complimentary cans of Hawaiian drinks in the fridge. Awesome! I've never felt so welcomed at a hotel. The main bedroom was beautiful, but the smaller room was less decorated and had a musk to it. They also had bidets in both bathrooms. So fancy. I loved it! We would definitely come back again. My family and I stayed here a few weeks ago and it was beyond our expectations. Staff and service were very friendly and attentive, to the front desk, valet, and housekeeping. Loved the central location in Waikiki where dining, shopping, and of course the beach are all within walking distance. The condo style hotel room was spacious, clean, and very cozy with spectacular views of the ocean. We selected a 2 bed/2bath room for our family of 4. One room had a king bed and the other had 2 twins, plus there was a Queen sofa bed in the living room. It had all the amenities of living in a condo, with modern kitchen appliances, washer/dryer unit, and bidet toilets! The only minor complaint is the noise levels of neighboring hotels where some nights you can hear the live DJ music at Alohailani and the exotic sounds of a hula show at The Marriot, unless you keep your windows closed. Overall, we were very happy with our accommodations and will definitely choose to stay here again. read more

This is a top notch hotel if you are staying with a big family and wants all inclusive suites. The suites we got came with full kitchen and a Zojirushi rice cooker. The rooms were super clean, modern and had an amazing view. We got upgraded to the ocean view 2 bedroom suites. The staff are extremely friendly, courteous, and takes covid protocols very seriously. Which made us feel more comfortable staying here even more. It is located right across the street from Waikiki Beach and has an amazing view of the beach and ocean. A great place to stay with multiple people. I have stayed here several times in the past and it was wonderful. Close to just about everything. A beautiful view of Waikiki from up high. January, 2024. This trip we needed two rooms (3 people) because we were traveling with a friend who has some mobility issues. We needed a bathroom that would accommodate her (room had 2) plus needed a reliable parking space. This place fit the bill. Everything was clean and kitchen was nice to have. I have stayed in many place in Waikiki. This place was super expensive. I think more than it was worth. Parking was reliable and reasonable. Staff were attentive and friendly. (Patio runs the width of the room) Larger room (approx 1200 sqft) Full kitchen (with plates, small appliances, cookware,etc) Large living room for a movie night (plus couch is a pull out bed) Valet parking Friendly and helpful staff Cons: Bedrooms/bathrooms need updating and do not have a view of ocean (at least the tower I was in) Pool is very small Grill needs to be reserved (and staff was 15-30 minutes late to start up grill for us) Housekeeping unpredictable (1 day did not show up, and the rest of the time they came at different times of day) Elevators can take a while, depending on crowds Valet parking has same issues as elevators read more

Great busy location for a nice stroll day and night; quick walk to the ocean. Warm welcome greeting which was unexpected and was a very nice touch. Room was beautiful with a nice view and in good condition. Staff was friendly. Only had issues with housekeeping. Day one was great. Day two they said they couldn't come back an hour later and recommended we let them take out the trash and change towels for that days' service. However front desk had no issues with them coming back, so they did. There was an issue with them leaving the hard lock on our door without removing it when they left and the manager happened to be there as we were leaving our room and realized the door was not fully locked. After they were done that evening, the 10+ throw pillows were piled up, stove wasn't cleaned and they didn't refill the laundry pod, which was different from the first day that they serviced. Day 3 they did not come at all until we asked around 6pm. They said they checked twice, but the do not disturb sign was on - we were somewhat in and out that day I guess? We returned that night and smelled some kind of chemical/gas smell. Had someone come check and they did smell something unusual so they sprayed Lysol in the vents. Front desk person insists it was oil in a frying pan from next door and everything was on electric. We know what cooking oil smells like, and that wasn't it. Thankfully they understood we were uncomfortable sleeping there for safety and moved us to another room. So, after all the experience, we would say 4.5-5 stars. read more

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to spend our 4 day trip in Oahu here on the 32nd floor. The suite was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had the most amazing balcony view. This living space came equipped with a nice living room, dining area, fully furnished kitchen, the craziest toilets I have ever seen [in a good kind of way]!! The hotel also provides a fitness center, private pool that is perfect for your little ones, and events such as wine tasting, hula lessons, & ukulele lessons [all complimentary]. Customer service was courteous from the very start of our stay until the very very end. Hospitality really doesn't get any better than this. 5 solid stars. This was conveniently located with wonderful staff, but I missed the amenities of a true hotel. If you need anything you are guided towards the expensive abc stores on every corner. Got the Ocean Front 2 Bedroom Suite, but our view was of the roof of the round building in front of us. The housekeeping on Day 2 just dropped towels and emptied trash, no bed making, no cleaning, thought that was odd. Room was spacious and good layout but was virtually without decor, pillows were super mushy. Great for families that need a lot of space. My family and I stayed here for almost two weeks. We were greeted with shell and kukui nut leis and my sister was given a personal tour of the room. Valet service is available and the hotel is right across the street from Waikiki. Beach towels, spa, pool, grills, and gym were available to us as well as the residents of the condos in the same building. The entire staff was friendly for the entire time! There might have been one staff member that wasn't nice, but everyone else made us feel so welcomed. The lobby smells amazing!!!! You can't find that scent anywhere because I asked. We had spectacular views of the ocean and the keiki's had all their meals on the huge lanai! Our time here was a great way for me to spend my birthday! This is the second Aston hotel I've stayed in and Beach Tower is my favorite so far. The room has modern fixtures and the floor we were on did not seem very busy, so it felt really private. I can't wait to come back! Be mindful of the pool loungers. I cut my leg on one of those chairs while trying to walk around it. Reservations were made for two nights at around $200 per night with available discounts opting for an ocean-view room (why else come to Waikiki?) The hotel is literally across the street from Kuhio beach and a block from the zoo. The breakfast buffet was novel in that you select coffee, cheap FZN pastries, miso soup, yogurts and fruits. Stuff them into a little plastic cooler and enjoy on the beach. Most folks tried to find a lounge chair skirting the pool to eat, making a huge mess for staff. They have a few mediocre restaurants as an amenity on property. We loved the great views of the pool, diamond head, and sunset from the penthouse 40th floor. Small rooms and bath. If you have vertigo, get a mountain view on lower floors. (See posted photos.) Access walking on Kalakaua Avenue was great for people watching, close to restaurants, sunsets and wonderful when you are tired with just an elevator ride home. Like other "discount" hotels in any major city it's very busy, so you may need to wait in line for reception, valet, breakfast, elevators, movies, restaurants etc...Otherwise, stay in a resort double the price, for realistic expectations. read more

I don't even know where to start. If I can give a zero star I'd be more than happy to. Stayed here for a week and had multiples suites spending over $20k for the stay. The hotel was under construction as we weren't aware. There is no gift shop, vending machines, gym, the pool was closed, and NO PLACES TO EAT! The staff is very unprofessional, they have no communication skills whatsoever and they are very rude. The refused to valet our van because it was too big, while there was a van larger than ours already valeted. The best of all, they kicked us out of our hotel on the 4th night for being too loud, without any warnings, no calls, or security visit. I did not stay at this hotel so I can't rate the quality of the rooms. However, their security guard wasn't friendly and was rude. My husband and I were walking along with street (the main one right where the beach is), I tripped, fell and scrapped my knee. We went into the path way so I can sit and inspect my injuries before we continued on our walk. The security guard approached us and asked us if we were there to see anyone. His tone and facial expression made it seem like we weren't wanted there and weren't their type of clientele. I told him that I fell and my husband was cleaning and bandaging my bloody knee up and we would be on our way. He didn't seem to care and walked away, all the while giving us dirty looks and stood by the opening on the area we were sitting to make sure we left. Because of this, I would never stay here when I visit Hawaii. Why can't people be nice??? read more

Wow! This hotel is by far the best in Waikiki. It's located right across the street from the beach and surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping centers. They offer free valet parking and overnight guest parking isn$5 a night! Customer Service from the time we checked in to the time we checked out was excellent. Our third stay in Honolulu and once again, The Residences provided exactly what we needed. This time we had four teenagers and two moms, so the washer/dryer and full kitchen were important. While we didn't ever cook - no rental car so we didn't do a full grocery shopping - we made good use of the dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The hotel towers above the Kuhio Beach section of Waikiki, so from the balcony we had both exquisite views of Waikiki and a birdseye perch to watch our teenagers on the beach below. Families, take note: for kid-friendly snacks, there is a McDonalds at the base of the building and an ABC Store within a stone's throw. Beds were comfortable, even the pull-out couch in the living room (my domain). Lots of storage places. The remodel has definitely improved the site as everything was quite clean, new and comfortable. No, it isn't inexpensive - what IS in Waikiki, especially in such a prime location? The staff consistently provide exquisite, warm and friendly service. read more

What a great property in Waikiki if you are staying with kids. We rented here via VRBO, and it was perfect. Our family of 4 felt it was great and close to all. We could walk to Kapiolani park, the kids got up in the am. and surfed, while hubby and I sat on the balcony and wathced them from 12 floors up. Our family took a trip to Oahu and stayed in Waikiki. After reviewing hotels, we decided to stay at the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower. It was such a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, everything was great. The service we got from Wil at the front desk was superb. We were upgraded to an ocean view room with a nice balcony. We had two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious living room and kitchen. Everything was clean. The pool was a little bit small, but who wants to be hanging out at the pool when you have the vast ocean one minute away! The location of the hotel was great. The beach was right across the street and we were on the main road with all the other hotels, restaurants, and shops. First reaction to the hotel was alright. The lobby is decent. I checked in and received my keys fast. Trying to get into the only elevator at 3PM before the weekend was a nightmare. They have one elevator for 11 floors. It took at least 20 minutes to get to my room after receiving my keys. Walking into my room- I knew what to expect. But paying for an extra $50 or so a night for a nice ocean side room is pointless. I'm on the 5th floor. With the smallest beach view and a massage tree in front of my window. I called downstairs to try to replace my room and they said to check in tomorrow AM to get a better room. Hoping to either get a refund on the money or I will leave this room for a non beachside view which is most likely the same but cheaper. read more

I stayed here once last year while running the 2011 Honolulu Marathon with friends whom were visiting from the mainland. While I didn't want to drive and find parking at like 2:30am half asleep in my running clothes, my friends (whom also were running the marathon) invited me to stay with them, so I was pretty much in screaming distance from the start line to the finish line. More recently, a couple of other friends stayed here per my recommendation and they really liked it. I crashed with them too, just because I liked this property, better than the others - although I could have said Sheraton or something, just to Yelp another property in Waikiki. The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower is located right on Waikiki Beach and there are panoramic views of Waikiki Beach and the vicinity. For me both times, I felt like I was at a staycation, even though I was crashing with friends overnight. The experience was very good overall for both times and the staff was more than welcoming, so that was a wicked good plus. The room we got felt like a spacious apartment, with 2 bedrooms, living room, and a kitchen that felt like your own personal oasis of awesome in a can. Everything was clean and very much immaculate. There is limited parking at the property, so it's good to take advantage of this one. This property is basically within walking distance for any of the major shopping areas in Waikiki. The main drag in and out of Waikiki would be along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues, along with Duke's Lane and many other small in and outs in Waikiki, so there's plenty of stuff to do while in Waikiki. For me, since I live like 2 miles from Waikiki, I don't know what can be considered fun to do here, except for eating at other hotel's buffet, especially the Oceanarium restaurant at the Pacific Beach Hotel. Yum! But anyway, the room here at the Aston was above average and I would recommend friends and other Yelpers to consider this property when choosing a place to stay when visiting Oahu. The Aston Waikiki Beach Tower is a condo-style hotel with large suites, full kitchens, washer/dryer, but limited hotel services. It's usually described as a 4-star hotel. From what I've seen, I would call it a 3-star hotel. The rooms are large, but in terms of quality, probably closer to a typical 3-star hotel. Hotel services are limited: no room service, no restaurants, no massage parlor or spa, no business center, no ATM. I booked a "2 Bedroom Premium Oceanfront" suite on Hotels.com. The photos were similar, though they were mostly not of the same room. The check-in process was mixed. When I arrived in an Uber, one of the staff members just stared at the luggage. They seemed to have trouble finding my name in their system. Once they did, they said early check-in was available for my room (around noon, whereas their usual check-in time is 3 pm). They stated that power would be off because of maintenance until the regular check-in time, which was more than a fair trade. We went up to the room on the 36th floor, with a brief tour. They gave me a bag of goodies, which had some sunscreen, after-sun lotion, large water bottles, and a book of coupons. Complimentary beverages in the fridge. What they didn't tell me was that the elevators were also partially unpowered, so I was stuck there for a bit. Calling the front desk didn't help. They said they were unaware of elevator issues and would send security up to get us down. After 15 minutes, no one showed up, so I took the stairs down to the 35th floor and called an elevator from there. The suite is large and had great views from the expansive balcony. The full kitchen and washer/dryer were very useful. There are several mostly minor issues with the room, although some were pretty annoying. The main balcony spans the entire width of the suite. It's a private balcony, covered, several chairs, a lounger or two, and a table. Can be entered from either the master bedroom or the living area. Large floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows. Great view of the ocean, Waikiki beach, the Waikiki skyline, and the sunset. Aston is across the street from the beach, so it's not the closest ocean view I've had, but it is the highest floor out of all the rooms I've stayed in. I could hear the ocean fairly clearly. The view ranks 2nd out of 5. My ocean-front corner suite in Outrigger Reef was slightly closer to the ocean, and was the winner here. Halekulani's ocean views were nice, but not quite as good. The kitchen is large and fully equipped. Electric stove, oven, ventilation hood, dishwaser, garbage disposal, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, water boiler pitcher, toaster, lots of utensils, plates, cooking tools, etc. I did some light cooking, but the kitchen is equipped to do a lot more. Compared to the other two hotels that had kitchens, Aston ranks 1st out of 3. My room in The Ritz has higher quality equipment in their full kitchen, but not enough equipment to do much real cooking. The Luana has a kitchenette (partial kitchen). The washer/dryer were useful. The Ritz has an edge in terms of in-room laundry. Aston's washer and dryer are older, and they only provided one packet of laundry detergent powder at a time. The bathrooms are sort of ordinary. The toilets have pneumatic lids, but were otherwise normal toilets. Thin toilet paper. Standard shower/tub combos. The showers have minor water temperature issues. The room isn't great for working on a laptop. The desk is small, somewhat awkwardly placed, and has a glass top, which makes using a laser mouse difficult. There is only one electrical outlet at the base of the desk lamp, and it is very low on the base. I had to stick some paper under lamp to prop it up and expose the outlet. No USB ports. The nightstands in the master bedroom are fairly bare-bones. One electrical outlet on the base of each lamp, except they seem to turn off when the lights are off. Wi-Fi is fairly good. 250 Mbps up/down. By far the fastest Wi-Fi of the five hotels. The connection dropped occasionally. Cleanliness is a problem. The room wasn't horribly dirty, but it was clearly the least clean of the five hotels. There was a dark red stain on the blue sofa. The floors are mostly wood. When I walked around barefoot, the bottoms of my feet became covered in black grime. The AC is pretty powerful. It is more than capable of keeping up with the Hawaii climate. The room stayed around 69 F (it was pre-set and I didn't find the controls until the second day) even when both balcony doors were wide open, during the afternoon. It is loud, though. The Ritz is the closest to Aston in terms of room features, in that they both have kitchens and in-room laundry. My room at The Ritz is clearly better in most ways. Aston is closer to the beach, has better ocean views, has a larger kitchen, and has more space. The Ritz is better at everything else. The price was similar. I'm very disappointed in this hotel. The place smells horrible and the staff is rude besides the valet. I was told to leave because of something people I don't even know did. All they like to do is target people and be no help to you. I would never stay here again. read more

Why the one star? Well to start the got damn elevators don't work, second there's no amenities within the hotel basic needs were not met no water no food not even a vending machine. The hotel lobby smells super weird and the staff especially the mangers do not know how to hold themselves even with all the money your spending Theres always the hotel right next door. read more
