Several years ago I was basically forced into having my wisdoms out WHILE PREGNANT. The dentist knew I was pregnant and told me it was the Perfect time because I was in my second trimester. He specifically said "it's the perfect time." Well that perfect time turned into a hell of a two hour procedure which at the end all of the Novacaine had worn off and the dentist was seriously irritated that it was taking so long and that I was in pain - he gave me nothing for the pain and sent me on my way. I drove home sobbing. Being pregnant then I couldn't take Advil and was forced to take Tylenol. I returned to the dentist several times over the next two weeks in extreme pain and was met with an eye roll and the statement that nothing could be done. I am convinced that it was this traumatic procedure and the amount of medications that I had to take for the pain that led to my son being born with autism. Unfortunately, I went to this dentist office for several years and can confirm every single cavity or crown procedure that I had done there needed to be redone multiple times because of how bad these dentists are. I don't know why it took me this long to write this review but people need to know about the risk of going here - sure they have GREAT hours for working people but it's simply not worth it. read more

Dr Jeff is an amazing dentist! It's already nerve wracking to go to the dentist sometimes but Dr Jeff makes it such a great experience. He made sure I felt comfortable, was gentle on my mouth, and when looking for sensitive spots, he'd ask before going in. I was so worried about the reviews but I had a situation that my filling gave way and part of my tooth chipped off :'( this was literally a week from joining HDS so obviously nothing is ready to be kicked in yet not even cleaning so I was at a difficult place. Not exactly how bad the situation is I Yelped and searched to find Waialae Dental Care is open in fact opens seven days a week and close 7pm on weeknights and 5pm on weekends. I called and immediately they had a slot available within 30 minutes just enough time to drive over and check in. The staff was a delight and new patient sign up was a breeze, due to my situation they decided the best option was to go in for a cleaning which is free for new patients there the doctor can asses and recommend the best direction to take care of my situation. I did have Dr. Hawkins and he was great was through and straightforward with what I should do as I needed a lot of work. Once done I did have payment to take care of which was none but did have a referral as well and they did let me know of other options like an upcoming "Black Friday" deal which was so unheard-of in the dental world...bizzare! I'm still on the fence of this place nothing bad like some of the reviews I've read but it's super convenient schedule for folks that do need to work in order to pay for all this makes it easy but parking is painfully small. I used to really like this place bc I didn't have dental insurance due to being an independent contractor. I was recommended here by a client of mine and was happy to see her every time I came. However, upon this last visit I had over a year ago, I was told that almost every tooth had an occlusion and that I had gingivitis and needed gum surgery... I was mind blown because I very rarely get cavities and never needed a root canal or even a crown put in so how can it be that all of a sudden I need such invasive work? ... I was told all of this would be close to $3000 which was ridiculous! Anywho, I was very skeptical and decided to get a second opinion elsewhere. The dentist I went to was SHOCKED by the news I gave her because she said she hadn't spot a single cavity! And even showed me all of my X-rays showing me my gums were nice and healthy! So idk why Waialae Dental Care tried to rob me but I'm glad I didn't buy into it. No longer recommending this place to others. read more

It has been three years being a customer at Waialae Dental and they have been very successful in treating all types of issues with my teeth from Crowns, Root Canals, Fillings and more. All I can say is that Flynn who gets me into appts. when I have time off and fit me in. Leah was so excellent in pricing and willing to work out payment situations that made it affordable for my family. I always look forward to Kuni with her wonderful smile and laff that takes the pain of having my teeth fixed and filled and pulled. Look, I am 72 years old and have seen countless dentists and very fussy and ask 10k questions because I have had bad experiences with places that have lied to me and made me feel I had to have work done using fear. I first came in for a regular cleaning and filling and everyone I interacted with was very pleasant and did a good job of working on my teeth. About two and a half months later, my gums became very sensitive and bloody so I called to make an appointment to have them looked at. After doing some research online, I had decided I was experiencing menstrual gingivitis (very common if you look it up). I still came to my appointment to make sure the dentist agreed with me. When I arrived, my dentist for this appointment was Dr. David Hoang. I explained that my gums were sensitive and bleeding and upon looking at them, he asked me when my last cleaning was. I said I had come in to this same office 2.5 months earlier and he was shocked and said really?!? Are you sure?! I confirmed that I was sure and he suggested that I come back in for a deep cleaning. He told me a deep cleaning is necessary when people "neglect" their teeth. Being told I have been neglecting my teeth was obviously hurtful (if not blatantly untrue) and did not make me feel comfortable enough to share that I thought I should be diagnosed with menstrual gingivitis. My experience with Dr. David Hoang left me feeling unseen, unheard, and belittled in a way that is unacceptable from a medical professional. Nonetheless, I scheduled the appointment for the deep cleaning and the dentist I was given was Dr. Olivia Hautamaa. Upon arriving, I explained my situation to her and that I suspected menstrual gingivitis may have been what caused my gums to become sensitive and that the two previous dentists who I had seen only 2.5 months earlier for my cleaning/filling did not suggest that procedure. She listened to everything I had to say and assured me that she would look at my teeth and then decide if I required the deep cleaning. After looking at my teeth/gums she told me that my gums looked really healthy and that I definitely did not need the deep cleaning. She said it is very likely that I had experienced menstrual gingivitis and that if it ever happened again I could call to make an appointment and ask to be scheduled with her specifically. She listened to me intently and gave me excellent care. Had this review been based only on Dr. Olivia Hautamaa it would have absolutely been 5 stars. Unfortunately, I had the worst experience in a doctor's office that I have ever had with Dr. David Hoang. If you are scheduling an appointment at this office make sure to ask for another dentist (especially if you are a woman). read more

I recommend not to go to this dentist if you are HMAA holder. I asked if HMAA is accepted, and they said "Yes, we accept HMAA". But an year later, a bill of $527 came to me for my 2 sons cleaning fee. I tried to find what had happened and came to know that they accept HMAA but they are out of HMAA network. At the time I took my sons to cleanings, they never explained to me that they were out of HMAA network and payment would be much higher. If I had known that they were out of network, I would have just gone to other dentist as my HMAA plan covers for 2 cleanings per year, of course for free. I asked why I wasn't given the correct information in the first place, but was casually told "we accept HMAA". They refused to give clear explanation, and threatened me to pay, otherwise, I need to deal with third party collection service. Very dishonest, unethical service provided. I recommend not to visit this dentist as you will be charged fees you wouldn't have to pay, and they care nothing but to charge you. After speaking with the manager, we came to an agreement that I pay half of the amount, $264, which I did, as I no longer wanted to deal with this issue and they kept on saying that this will be going to collection agency if I don't pay. But hey, cleanings for $264, when it's supposed to be covered by insurance??? I truly hope that no further victims like me will be charged unnecessary fee for given wrong information of "Yes, we accept HMAA". read more

Just wanted to come here to update my review, this review is mostly) towards the billing/services, but also some of the staff. I got my regular cleaning done about a month ago, and that same day, the nurse had walked me to the front and told the lady behind the counter. "She's gonna come back after lunch to get her 2 fillings done" first of all, no one asked me? She just assumed! I had a bunch of things done that day so I told the lady behind the counter that I'd have to reschedule. Now, as far as rescheduling I've never ever had a problem they always help me with ease. One PRO about this place is that they do send out text messages to confirm your appointment a few days before then. I do like that. So I called to confirm my next appointment, because I had gotten a missed call from a weird number but the voicemail said it was waialae dental trying to confirm my appointment. Long story short, I was transferred 3x total, and I was getting very frustrated because I asked what the total of my fillings were going to cost. The First Lady didn't know so she kindly transferred me. The second lady, said $400 at first, I asked "why so expensive for 2 fillings" she then told me it was 3 fillings. Of course I was confused because my previous visit they told me it was 2 fillings. Besides the point she then told me the price was $500 but my insurance was covering $400 of it... so they price went from $400, $500, then back to $130 something? I was so confused, I had asked if they were overcharging me, and she asked to call me back while the looked into my account. I said no, I wanted to get an answer ASAP, she transferred me to a man without warning and I had to explain once again. ALL IN ALL he apologized for the confusion, and explained that I had paid $230 during my last visit which covered my fillings cost. I'm still a little confused because so many numbers were being thrown around. I'll still come back to this place only because of the Convenience but next time I think they should be more clear with there patients on how much things are WITH there insurance and stop giving run arounds. This place is incredible, from the time I walked in to everyone at the front office to the nurse that walked me in. They all made me feel so welcomed andike I mattered, not just a stranger coming in, meeting Dr Chan for the first time, I really thought I would just be just another patient. However, he made me feel so warm inside, like I REALLY mattered and what I'm going through was very important to him. His compassion to what I was feeling was the up most important, making me understand all that I would need and what he needs to do so I'll feel and look better for myself. A big weight had lifted off my shoulder as soon as I met Dr Chan and I never imagined the impact not only his thoughts but his care and concern for me amazed me. Right now, I'm feeling more confident that I will definitely continue this journey with him and be proud that I made this step to better myself. Dr. Chun is great! First dentist I haven't wanted to punch in the face. I have intense anxiety about the dentist from past trauma from dental surgeries and have admittedly let my teeth suffer because of this. It had been over 10 years since I had seen a dentist. I had a tooth break and needed to get it extracted and he was able to do it pain free. I also had a consultation with him after...he was understanding and non-judgmental about my anxiety and devised a plan to bring my dental care up to date. Just recently had my last appointment to fix several oral issue and I can smile again without worrying about the shape of my teeth. Throughout the process he always made sure that my comfort was taken care of and was thorough in what he was going to do and what it would take to do it. I understand things get busy on the weekends but I wasnt seen until 30 minutes after my appointment time. Then I had the owner as my dentist? He left multiple times because he said other patients wanted to see him but what am I paying for if not to be attended by my dentist. My appointment took an hour and 45 minutes. For a majority of the time I was in the room on my phone waiting for someone to come tell me what was happening. Then I was over charged and given a copay of $80 when my insurance covers 100% of my cleanings/xrays/exams. After speaking with my insurance and being told the dentist made a mistake. I asked for a refund and was unable to get it for two weeks. They said they would update me and call me when they could fix their mistake but never did. I called about 4 different times and on the fourth time I was able to get my money. The people are nice but the service left a bad impression. read more

On August 28, 2023 I met a doctor at the Waialae Dental Care for a biopsy done on my left cheek due to a bite. It has been 2 weeks but no results. I will not reveal the doctor's name for this review. On September 11, 2023, the doctor called me to schedule a dental cleaning. I mentioned to the doctor I already had a cleaning done. It seems MISS TOMA this Is not the phone call you are waiting on today. You are waiting on the results of the biopsy. The doctor's unprofessional bedside manner was inappropriate and not acceptable. The doctor was very sarcastic and his tone of voice changed to me and this Is what he said. God damn it you are SO impatient. I told the doctor you just hurt my feelings. Dr Lewis Cedric sees more than one patient at a time. Not sure if he changes gloves as he goes back and forth from one patient to another. When I came out of the restroom, he was no longer at my station. His assistant said "Dr Lewis went to see another patient". I came down with a tongue and throat infection called thrush (fungal infection - it could have been covid) on my tongue and throat. My primary care doctor mentioned I could have gotten it from the dentist. I will start at the beginning because there are many things that are wrong with this place from start to finish. I called Waialae Dental Care to schedule an appointment. A guy answers and proceeds to ask me the standard questions of booking a medical appointment. I'm ASSURED twice on the phone that they take my insurance so I book. Now comes the day of my 6 year old dental appointment. He was there just for a cleaning. Everyone seems nice and I begin to fill out the paperwork, the lady at the desk informs me they do not take my insurance. I discussed with her I was told multiple times on the phone that they do. I asked if I could have the man's name who booked my appointment so I could refer back ,and understand what the mix up was. The lady told me all she could do was give me his " initials". I feel like leaving, I'm starting to feel deceived but my son really was excited to get his check up so I agree to there plan. The plan was hanging on the wall X-rays, 2 teeth cleanings included. The price is 175 but I was given 145 because of the misinformation, it still seems steep for what is offered but I say okay and pay. They do X-rays and now we are waiting for the cleaning. The cleaning was short and not very detailed compared to the times I had received teeth cleaning services from other locations but oh well. The lady at the front desk walks in and try's to sell me on getting the same plan my son has. I decline letting her know the original reason why I was here was because I was told my insurance was taken, and since they do not, no thank you. Finally the Dentist comes in. He does not tell me his name. He reviews the X-rays briefly ,and inform's me my son has 6 cavities (this number is important for later). I was surprised because where he said the cavity's were there was none. I asked what should be done about it and he suggests pulling ALL 6 TEETH or to get caps on all 6th teeth. He says he can start right now and picks up his tools and acts like he is about to go in. I ask "wait, how much will that cost"? He says he doesn't know and I inform him I will wait to get the summary to see if I'm interested. He slams the tools down and walks out I did not see him for the rest of the visit. I get the summery it's over 2k. I decline. Now over a month later I get a random bill from Waialae dental saying I owe $500 dollars with no reason attached to it. I start to do further research on this dental establishment to find others that experienced the EXACT same thing down to the amount of cavities (6) we were told was had. I go in to Waialae Dental the following day and the advertised plan I was given was taken down the guy at the front was confused shrugging his shoulders when I asked him direct questions regarding the plan I was given (he was the guy that handed me the 2k summary previously) Finally the lady that had helped me sign up the first time was there. She told me she took back the bill but could not give me an exact reason why I was charged an extra 500$. Her only reason was that is how much it would have cost if I did not get the plan? That's absurd and highway robbery at best. So you are telling me a first x-ray and teeth cleaning would have been 500$ when it's usually given 0-80$ okay. I ask for my son's X-rays that I had requested the first time but never received. I asked her to print them out and she said that they don't do that which I believe is against HIPAA regulations. So when I told her that then she did print it out the X-rays for me (the X-rays are a tiny print out copy ) btw and not the actual X-rays.I asked questions regarding why was I not given a summary of the services my son received the day of the services given/ paid for. I was informed " they do not do that". This is the first medical office to not give a summary of the producers given and cost the day it is given and paid for. I had to ask for the summary after I was randomly charged over a month later. I noticed a trend in the treatment my son and I experienced. There is a trend of false statements from billing to medical procedures. I would stay clear of this place protect your mouth and wallet and if you are dealing with them now DOCUMENT everything and get a second opinion before you commit to a medical procedure. Really hit or miss. Totally depends on the current wave of employees/doctors, who you get, and if you run into any trouble with the work you have done or your insurance "not paying out as expected." Some doctors/hygienists are excellent. Super high turnover rate though. Upper management and even doctors are always changing. No consistency. Billing is confusing, no direct contact for billing concerns. First cleaning is not free. Medicaid/Medicare not accepted. Lobby is uncomfortable and uninviting. Rooms are freezing. Parking lot is small, and the overflow is a mile away which makes no sense. Then there's the McDonald's line which is usually blocking the entrance, maybe it's a sign? Do not recommend, unless it's an emergency and you just really need a tooth pulled at 3pm on a weekend. read more

I had an infection in my tooth that needed to be extracted right away because of the pain. It was a Sunday and I called Waialae Dental Care at 3:32 pm. The receptionist told me to come the next day at 8 am. I asked if I can come in that day since I was experiencing pain. He told me he can take me in if I can come right away and drove over in 15 minutes. I was in the chair by 4:00. The assistant spoke Japanese to me, it is my first language, and was super nice. The Dr. was very professional. The procedure took only a few minutes without any pain. My co-pay was only about $70. April 9, 2021, on Friday evening I started having a toothache, and by Saturday evening the situation had worsened to the point where it felt like my molar was being jack-hammered. I used a small mirror and I could see the crack in my filling so I called Waialae Dental on Sunday morning that I was having a dental emergency the receptionist said they would like to put me with my usual dentist, Dr. Wong and the soonest appointment was on Monday 4pm. Strangely, the receptionist asked me if I wanted to SCHEDULE A CLEANING TOO! I was like, NO, I am having a dental emergency, why would I want a cleaning? To get me through the weekend, luckily I had some painkillers from a previous dental surgery that I didn't use, otherwise I'd have to go the E.R. By Monday morning the pain was so severe I called at 8am to ask if they had any earlier openings. She said 10am and I took that appt. (That's why I gave them 2 stars for fitting me in) I didn't take pain meds prior to driving for safety reasons, and the pain was getting worse. But I was certain that I would be in good hands and the dentist would numb me up soon. I was in the waiting room for over 20 agonizing minutes. The girl that brought me in from the waiting room asked me how I was doing and I told them not so good and let them know I was in a lot of pain. The girl asked "oh is it when you drink something cold?" I said NO it is constant and she said "oh is it when the air touches it from talking" and I said NO it is all the time with my mouth closed or open. She said the dentist would be right in. At 10:49 AM (more than 20 agonizing minutes of waiting in the chair) The dentist came in and I explained to him that it started hurting really bad Saturday and I saw a crack on the 1st upper right molar. I told him I was in A LOT of pain. He looked in there, tapped on my teeth asking which ones hurt. He said he DIDN'T SEE A CRACK. He said he would need to take X-rays. They took several Xrays. Dr. Wong seemed very busy and I could hear that he was with different patients. I felt like my dental emergency and pain was being completely ignored, and I was in so much agony that I was texting my husband and was actually contemplating picking me up and leaving my car. But I toughed it out. At 11:12 AM (another agonizing wait) the Dentist came back to say that my tooth was cracked and I would have to go to a specialist. I gave him the name to my Endontist for referral and told Dr. Wong I was in A LOT of pain and that I didn't take any pain meds before my appointment since I was driving. At 11:33 AM Dr. Wong came back and gave me a referral slip and a prescription for pain meds (I was hoping he would bring me an immediate fix because I was in NO SHAPE to stand in line at the pharmacy and I had pain meds at home) So I drove myself home and took a pain medicine asap. I was able to get an appointment the next day, Tuesday, at Island Endodontics Dr. Noz Yamauchi. The crack in the filling/tooth was clearly visible to the naked eye, and Dr. Noz photographed my tooth, put it on the computer monitor to show me. I wonder why Dr. Wong told me he could not see it? I told him Dr. Wong didn't see it and that after he looked at the Xray he said it was cracked. Dr. Noz said that was strange because the Xrays don't normally show the crack. Anyways, I had a lot of trust from my last experience with Dr. Wong because he put a crown in nicely in 2019 for me. But not sure if he was just way too busy to care for me this time. But when a customer is in THAT much pain and if they couldn't help you, they should get you out much sooner. I spent over 1.5 hours there and left in more pain than when I got there. read more

I was in terrible pain, it's a Sunday, and my own Dentist is closed. What did I do? Googled Emergency Dental near me... up pops this place, and it's only a block away! I called at 9:30, got an 11:00 appt, and by 12:00 I was done. I needed a root canal on a tooth that was crowned, and Dr. Lewis did an excellent job. He drilled a hole in the back of my crown, performed the root canal and sealed my crown back up so well I couldn't even tell where he had gone in! He is educated, professional, and has a great chair side manner. He communicated with me throughout the procedure. Told me what he was doing, asked repeatedly if I was ok, and basically assured me I had made the right choice by coming in because my tooth was so bad. He prescribed Amoxicillin and Ibuprofen. Hooray! I feel so much better! With my HDS insurance covering 70%, my copay was $228. Not bad for emergency service on a Sunday! I am so glad I found this place, and would definitely recommend Dr. Lewis to anyone who needs dental work done. The entire staff is very professional ! read more

The staff and real were super friendly and let me take advantage of their new patient free cleaning special. Needed a regular cleaning so I did some looking around and decided on this place. The staff was friendly but it seemed to me some of the techs were a bit inexperienced. It took them a couple tries/re-dos to get my X-rays done right. The cleaning itself was done by the dentist himself which was new for me. The hygienist has always done my cleanings in the past. The cleaning itself took well over an hour plus the X-rays, I was there for over 2 hours (which is the longest I've ever been at a regular checkup before.) I was told I had some cavities so I came back in a few weeks later to take care of them. Again, a VERY long process, over 2 hours again, using tools I had NEVER seen in all my years going to the dentist. After the fillings were done, they took more X-rays to make sure everything was OK. Unfortunately, it was not... the dentist had not properly filled one of my cavities and said he would have to remove the filling and do it again. I needed to reschedule and go back a THIRD time which was pretty annoying. Ever since they refilled that cavity and "fixed" it, my tooth has been SUPER sensitive, I can barely floss in there it hurts so bad. The good : I really love their long hours. They are open 7 days a week, until 7pm. This makes it so easy to work around any schedule, especially if it is difficult to take off work or pull kids out of school. The neutral : they have a sign that says "walk ins welcome. " I called a month before my son's appt to see if I could get an appointment either before or during his. They were unable to accommodate. Obviously, I understand they can't free up a booked spot, but it seems odd to advertise as open to walk ins. The bad : I've been here twice with my son and both times they did everything to nickel and dime me. They seemed hyper -focused on up-selling services and products. We found a new dentist, yet they scheduled us automatically without us wanting an appointment! I called and cancelled after getting the notification. They still call asking us to make an appointment. I left a standard 3 star review for one visit. It was nothing too great or bad. But it seems my experience is continuing to go downhill. Sis and I went for a cleaning Nov 2019. We chose this because 1, cleaning benefit expires at the end of year. 2, close to home. 3, had same day appointment available and we happened to be free at the moment. After cleaning they offered to make us our next cleaning appointment. We declined because we knew we were moving to another island Feb 2020. They said ok, we all left on good terms. The wonderful month of May rolls around the corner and I get a missed call from them. When I got off work and went home my sister tells me they called her to confirm dentist appointment which we were both confused by because we didn't book any, she had them cancel and even reminded them we are no longer residing on Oahu. Its now September. Guess who decided to call and ask if we wanted to confirm our appointment...? *face palm* I will never recommend this business. I suggest everyone reading stay away. I'm sure if given the opportunity they would be selling our contact info to third parties. read more

Years ago it was run very well and it was a good experience.. since then it has been about quantity and not quality, upselling you on services you don't need. I recently was billed for services I had over a year ago. I contacted the offices on 3 different occasions to find out what it was for only to be told we'll get back to you. My dentist is still not seeing patients and I needed to have an infected tooth extracted. During the procedure I almost chocked on the pieces of my tooth as it broke apart. 2 days later a suture came out. I called and left a message at 7am and 1pm and got no response. Poor patient care. read more

Just had the best experience here. After skipping the dentist for 7 years (because of my general hatred of needles, pain, things scraping my teeth), I made an appointment here based on recommendations from friends and it was awesome. They were able to see me the next day for an appointment, my first cleaning was free, and the whole process was simple. My Dental Hygienist was really good at putting me as ease and explained what she was doing, every step of the way. She was really knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I made a follow up appointment in 6 months and am totally not dreading it at all. Also, free parking out front! read more

I had a surfing accident that resulted in a busted lip and broken front tooth. Waialae Dental Care was open on a Sunday and took good care of me. I was seen by Dr. Dennis within 3 hours of the incident. Staff are courteous, friendly, and most importantly, good at what they do. Dr. Dennis and Anna took good care of me as they got me setup for a crown and putting in a temporary tooth. They were also able to stitch up my busted lip so I didn't need a separate trip to urgent care. Wish I didn't need their service today but I'm glad I went to Waialae Dental Care! read more

Continuity of care for Invisalign is not consistent. This is the third year for my son's Invisalign treatment (it should be done in a year according to the agreement/contract). I understand that the treatment may last a little bit longer, but never expected to take that long and still not even close to be done. Waialea Dantal Care has poor continuity of care for their patients. Especially, for the Invisalign patients. The original dentist who takes care of my son's Invisalign left the Waialea Dantal Group about three month ago. As of today (3/10/2022), no new dentis is assigned from Waialea Dental Care to continue my son's Invisalign treatment. They do not have in house imaging. Each time the patient needs the teeth image, Waialea Dental Care has to schedule with another imaging place (in our case is Cor Imaging) to take pictures. Then, Waialea Dantal has to wait for the images to order new trays. Therefore, the patient may need to wait for few weeks or months to receive their next set of the trays. My son just took the image at Cor Imaging on 1/21/2022. As of today, 3/10/2022, my son still did not receive his next set of tray yet. Also, the turnover rate of the front desk staffs are very high. Inexperienced staff make appointment for you with a dentist that can't do the Invisalign work. My son went to the Cor imaging to take pictures on 1/21/2022. As of today (3/10/2022), we still did not get his next tray yet. In fact, the front desk scheduled an appointment for my son to see one of their dentist for my son's Invisalign on 3/7/2022. After the appointment, Waialea Dental office front desk told us "sorry, the dentist can't do Invisalign, he is not qualified to do any Invisalign work for the patient." Come on!!! why they bring us in if the dentist is not qualified to do the Invisalign!!!??? Apologies from a front desk staff will not work for my son's Invisalign care. I requested their manager to give me a call on 3/7/2022 to discuss the situation and potential solutions for my son's Invisalign treatment. However, three day passed, no call from Waialea Dantal Care. I am so frustrated with their service. We've been going to Waialae Dental for about 4 years... our family of 5 are all patients here, and the first year I actually referred my ex and a friend. You can't beat their business hours- open 7 days a week, and now until 9 pm! You don't have ONE dentist here. The only time you will see the same person is if they are the one who referred you to come back in. So every 6 months when I went in for cleaning, it was someone new. In the past 4 years, I have had 5-6 different dentists clean my teeth, and they all have found new existing problems that I need to take care of right away. This is just an estimate, but so far, out of pocket, I have spent about 6-7 thousand. Mind you, we switched over from a dentist where I already had my major work done. At the beginning of this year, at our first cleaning, again I was told I had major work needed to be done. $1008 later, I had a follow up appointment because my permanent crown came in. My fault, I put the wrong date in my calendar and missed my appointment. No problem, they could take me at 6:00 that evening. Got there early at 5:40. Checked in. Waited. And waited. And waited. At 6:30 after no one saying anything I went back up and told them I needed to leave - then someone said oh, they'll go check with the dentist. Came back and said oh sorry, it should be another 15 min late. I said I'm not waiting, and they can call me later to reschedule. I didn't hear back from them for another 2 weeks, until my husband went in and said something to his dentist at his invisalign fitting. They called the next day, I rescheduled and went in. After sitting down, the tech started to pull at the wrong tooth!! I am not even going to go into what happened with my hubby, Terry H had his own Invisalign issues, he can write his own review. Last week Saturday was the last straw. Terry, my daughter and I went for our cleaning and X rays. After being told by another dentist that I had 2 worrisome teeth that should be taken care of, I told them I'm not scheduling anything else until later. My daughter on the other hand, had 5 cavities, 3 that should not wait otherwise it could turn into a root canal. Ok, when it comes to the kids, I always get paranoid and don't take a chance. Scheduled the appointment for the 3 cavities for this past Monday. I dropped her off and told her to call me when she was done. She called me 30 min later, and told me that she was done. Whaaaat??? She went in, they gave her 2 shots of novacaine to numb her up real good (she has anxiety) and then said she actually doesn't need any work done!!! She said they refunded my card, and would call me later to explain. Nothing. No one called me all afternoon, so I called that evening and asked to speak to the Manager. No one was available, so explained the situation and asked for a call back from the Manager the next day. They assured me, while click clacking away into the notes, that someone would call me back. Nothing. I waited an extra day, and still nothing. Called back again last night and explained it AGAIN to another person, Theo. He apologized, took notes again because he said nothing was in my file and said for sure someone would call me back today. It is now 4:00, and no one has called me back. All I want is an explanation as to how this could happen. Why would they subject my daughter to getting 2 shots of novacaine... if she doesn't need any work done? I am so over this place... I have already called GEHA to give me a record of all my claims from this business. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Not even people I don't like lol. read more
