All I can say is going to this dentist is enjoyable as he does not LOOK for things to go wrong and then work on teeth for no reason like many of the other dentists I have gone too. Here is the thing to keep in mind... if you go to a place where there are many rooms and dentists, beware... they depend on volume and production and billings... I say no more. Go to a skilled professional and ask friends for referrals. Nishime and his crew are pros! read more

I did my initial consultation with Dr.Nishime this week. The office and exams rooms are very clean and comfortable. His office staff is very polite and professional. Most importantly, the appointment was exactly on time. Dr.Nishime did a very good job of explaining the procedure of extracting two teeth and implanting the posts to the bone in my jaw. I was impressed with his very thorough explanation of the step by step procedure that is involved and that he will be doing both tooth extraction's and insertion of the posts on the same day in just 3 weeks from now. He made me feel at ease and my impression of his excellent restorative dental skills that I heard from several other of his patients was reinforced by meeting him and hearing his initial consultation. read more

Thought my left side cheek was hurting because my dentures were rubbing against it, but after Dr Nishime checked it he said it was just a cold sore, and that was a great relief for me. The main thing he allowed me to have a last minute appointment to solve my problem. They are so helpful to me to solve problems with my implants. Thank you Dr. Nishime, I certainly appreciate all the care you give me even though my implants were put in years ago. read more

Dr. Nishime has done miracles with my challenging mouth. Where every other dentist i visited told me implants were not possible for me, Dr. Nishime met the challenge and has completely restored my mouth and smile. He remains completely current in the latest procedures, cares endlessly about discomfort and since i travel from another island, makes scheduling work easily. His staff, everyone of them, is as kind as Dr. Nishime. I highly recommend his remarkable services. read more

I was referred to Dr. Nishime by a friend and it was a pleasant and quick visit. I had to replace a broken retainer and Dr. Nishime said he could do it for me right away. Staff and environment of the office was very friendly and welcoming and even walked me through the process of what they would do to replace my retainer (making a mold, letting it set and then making the new retainer). I knew exactly what was going on and the whole thing only took an hour. I was in and out and able to go about my day without having to wait and everything was done with top notch quality. Dr. Nishime's office has been one of the best dental experiences I've had and I would highly recommend them to any one! read more

I have enjoyed pain free dentistry with Dr. Nishime and his staff for years. I went in for a cleaning yesterday, was greeted with smiles and aloha, followed by my hygienist appointment. She is the best ever. As always in a timely manner she cleaned my challenging mouth effectively and painlessly. Dr. Nishime paid me a visit and we went over a plan to correct a new problem with my gums. I have to drive from Ewa Beach and it's worth it. I invite you all to experience a pleasant Dental visit yourselves. Jeannine C. read more

I flew in from Hilo for an appointment with Dr. Nishime after almost 15 years of no dental care. I have a paralyzing fear of dentists. After finding out his office offers sedation dentistry, i made an appt via their website. I received a call the next day to confirm. The staff are incredibly kind and professional. My experience from booking thru the receptionist, to meeting the hygienist to my actual exam with Dr. Nishime was the best I've ever had. There was no judgement or condemnation despite having a number of problems. They were gentle, very kind, understanding of my fear, and did everything possible to alleviate my anxiety. I have booked some extensive work with them and feel 100% confident that I will be taken care of, from my fear all the way through recovery. I can't recommend them enough, especially for people with high anxiety and fear of dentists. Try this practice. You'll be so glad you did. read more

Dr. Nishime and his staff have been incredible on service and quality work for the past 5 years we have gone to him. They are always extremely meticulous and don't make you feel like you are just a body to rush through and get payment from. His equipment is always up to industry standards and he keeps up on new methods constantly as he attends conference annually. I used to live overseas, so I have had my fair share of good and lousy dentists. I will never go back to dentists with 1) huge hands and 2) who are cheap because they give cheap quality service. We have been very happy with his work, and the work of his dental hygienist as well - fast and efficient! They even referred us to an incredible pediatric dentist for the little ones! We feel very safe in Dr. Nishime's hands, and know that he delivers quality work every time in an ethical manner. read more

I was due for a dental check up and my boyfriend found a new dentist in the same building he worked at. We both made an appointment to get our teeth clean and checked, our first visit was good. My first visit they did a X-ray and CAT scan to keep in record also did a clean up. Then Michael Nishime came to check my jaw and mouth cancer then I told him about my concerns. I had two bottom wisdom teeth that has been bothering me and causing pain. I also experience my jaw locking up. I been wanting to take my wisdom teeth out and with no hesitation he said we could definitely take them out. He told me to schedule with the receptionist for my surgery day and that was that. My surgery day came Nov 16, 2015 Monday at 8am I arrive and check in. I pay before my surgery amount of $304.15, after few min I get called in and the dental assistant tells me she is going to start the gas and that I will start to feel relaxed. Michel Nishime comes and starts the surgery. He numbs my mouth first, I here someone in the back taking pictures and Nishime telling her closer and need flash. He took pictures of both side of my cuts in my mouth. I didn't feel the gas anymore and felt more aware of things then later I feel him sticking me up and assistant giving me water to rinse my mouth. Then he comes back and says to me "we couldn't take out the wisdom teeth, it is to close to the nerves and it is to dangerous to continue. For now it will be a sitting dog until it gives you more problem we can figure out a solution." then he walked away and went to his next patient. I was shocked and wanted to ask lots of questions but my face was so numb and swollen and drowsy from the gas I couldn't say much. The assist gave me mouth wash and few ibuprofen then told me how sorry she was that they cut me open for nothing and kept apologizing. She also told me they will refund the money, I mean I hope they don't charge me to cut me open. They only gave me prescription paper to pick up a mouth wash and gave me 6 pills of ibuprofen and a ice pack to put on my face. They asked me to come back in two weeks and off I go. I still didn't understand what just happen to me. I got home and I was so swollen and I start to feel pain as the numbness starts to wear off. I text my boyfriend saying Im in pain and ibuprofen isn't doing anything. Thinking why they didn't give me anything else for pain. My boyfriend worked at the same building so he went up to the office telling them I was in pain and if they could give me something stronger. The assist reply back to my boyfriend saying "why is she in pain we didn't pull out any teeth", then walks back and come out with a paper to prescribe me stronger pain med. Boyfriend walked out angry thinking why they couldn't have given me painkiller first time, they did cut me open and scraped my gums. I waited at home till he got off work till 7pm crying in pain. I was really sad the whole week that I had to miss work, in pain and that I didn't even get to take out my wisdom teeth thats been bothering me. I shared my story and everyone told me how messed up it was and did he not see it in the X-ray. Everyone said I should get a second opinion from another dentist. I call an oral surgeon that my mom went to and they referral me to call Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, Inc. because they do consultation. I schedule an appointment with them on November 23, 2015 Monday and saw Dr.Pampalon. I took a copy of my X-ray and CAT scan from Nishime to the Oral Surgeon. First thing I asked was if he can see the nerves touching in the CAT scan. The answer was yes and that you could see the nerves touching in the scan so I don't understand why Michael Nishime even continue to do the surgery and why he didn't see that in the scan. Anyways I got my wisdom teeth pulled out at the oral and maxillofacial surgery associates and they did such a great job and I wasn't even that swollen after the surgery and they called to follow up with me and to check how I was doing. Michael Nishime didn't even follow up or called to apologize but sends me a bill to pay for a Expensive CAT scan that was no use for him and could have prevented from cutting me open if he just saw it in the scan then He could have just referred me to a oral surgeon and I didn't have to be swollen in pain for almost a month and missing work. Never ever going back and wouldn't want anyone else too. read more
