Stumbled upon this place on a weeknight as Thai food was on our mind. The experience wasn't impressive but seeing as it's relatively new, it's not too late to make some tweaks and improve! - first impression was the restaurant was surprisingly warm (24-25C); it didn't help that the kitchen is open concept so the stir fry further heats up the place - I bit into eggshell multiple times in the pineapple fried rice - the shrimp in the pad Thai had no flavour whatsoever; marinade the shrimp! - the regular pad Thai is a bit too sweet even though I didn't taste ketchup; it isn't spicy at all but you can request for their hot sauce which is pretty good - the service was good, although they were clearly understaffed around dinner time on a weeknight It's a new establishment with potential to improve and become a go-to spot in the area for Thai food.

Every time I come here i get blown away with all the colours, and creative plating, it truly matches all the flavours they are presenting. Tom Yum Pad Thai - good amount of sour and sweet, not too much tamarind which is my preference - large portion Massaman Curry - we ordered this because we wanted to try a new curry, it tasted perhaps a little stronger, but very similar still - Just as spicy as the other curries too Chicken satay - comes with 4 skewers - marinated very well, comes with extra peanut sauce on the side Khao soi - hit the spot, i was craving this!! - always love the different textures of crunchy and soft noodles, with so much flavour of the sweet yet spicy curry - presentation is so cool with the noodles standing up lol It was quiet at this location on a saturday at lunch, and very difficult to get parking. Make sure to plan it out ahead of time, we parked on the side streets but a lot of them are green P

They were able to accommodate us even though they were booked with reservations. We each got a main and shared the calamari and spring roll appetizers. The calamari came out hot and crispy with a nice side of their housemade basil mint mayo dip. The veggie spring rolls came out with a sweet and sour sauce that I found was okay, nothing too special. Our mains included spicy green curry, honey ginger beef, pad thai, pad kee mao, pad see ew, and the pineapple fried rice. I got to try a bit of every main and found the noodle dishes were on the saltier side. My green curry had a rich coconut flavour and had an ample amount of thai red chillies however I found it was not that spicy. The curry came out with rice and it was a good portion. However, I feel that I have had more flavourful Thai food at other restaurants. Still, Pii Nong's customer service and food was great and I would definitely consider returning to try their other offerings. They also gave my mom a small jelly dessert and food coupon for the next visit for Mother's Day which we all found very sweet.

I had the tom yum risotto the flavours were good but it was really weird to me how they used jasmine rice. It literally reminded me of a white bowl of rice mixed with sauce... I wasn't sure how I felt about it. The shrimp wasn't well prepared - very rubbery and not deveined. I also got the chicken pad thai. It's not the authentic pad thai you would expect - more ketchup side but I didn't mind it. The portions were outrageously small for $20 though. Not a lot of chicken either.

The menu is quite extensive but after asking for some advice and fan favourites, I ended up with the Tom yum seafood "risotto" and the hubs got the Green curry baked cheese with chicken cutlet. First off, the baked curry was okay... not a lot of green curry sauce. The chicken was fine. Not really a dish that wow'd us too much. The Tom Yum Seafood risotto was very tasty and flavourful. I was told it was a fan favourite so I was very intrigued. Sadly, upon arrival, it could have used a better presentation - they put it on a big flat plate so it looked...kinda gross. Secondly, they didn't use Arborio rice. I get that that would've taken a lot longer to make but using regular rice was a disappointment. But after a taste, I was definitely wow'd by the flavour. I quite enjoyed it, despite the rice. Not sure we're going to be in a hurry to come back but it's worth a try!

The chicken was soft and tender, and the accompanying sauce had a strong ginger taste that made the dish stand out. I appreciated that it was boneless, which made it very easy to eat. My friends tried the Phat Kaphrao (Stir fried meat with rice) and Padthai, both very fragrant and fresh. One thing I noted was how friendly and helpful the restaurant personnel were. They were happy to answer our questions, offer chilli oil on the side, and even recommended the level of spiciness for our dishes. I ordered mine medium-spicy, which had just the right amount of heat for my taste. The restaurant was small, with only four seats. We were lucky because we did not know about it but could still dine in. Most people ordered takeout instead. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and would recommend Phat Khaphrao to anyone looking for authentic and flavourful Thai food. I can't wait to return and order more dishes, this time to go!

How pad thai should be. - Pad Gra Prow: Very good. Rice is the perfect texture. Stir fry portion is delicious. Another shining example of what Pad Gra Pow how should be made. Service was a bit slow, and not the warmest, but was generally ok. Overall, great Thai food worth coming back for.
