Recently visited Wahoo's Fish Tacos in Laguna Beach, directly across the street from Oak Laguna, since I wanted a Spicy Wahoo Burrito. Ordered what I'm accustomed to getting in Temecula, substituting the Teriyaki Steak in the Hawaiian Burrito with Spicy Wahoo. I mentioned to them that the Wahoo's in Temecula honored the substitution, in fact they mentioned it first that I could substitute Fish in place of Meat. They had to summon the manager so I could then re-explain what it is that I usually order to be eaten In-House or by Take-Out. They made my night better by accommodating my request Maybe the Staff will suggest it for patrons who want the taste of a Hawaiian Fish that's known as 'Wahoo' which comes from the Hawaiian word 'ono', and translates to 'Good To Eat'. The Hawaiian Burrito (contents): Teriyaki steak or (Spicy Wahoo), Maui Onion Rings, cheese, rice, sour cream and Spicy Maria's Green Sauce Ambiance was cool, way different paintings adorn the walls than the Inland Empire, and Surf related and the view of the Ocean at Sunset was Awesome. read more

The service was extremely slow. The place was almost empty but it took forever to place the order as the phone kept ringing and the would answer and take an order. Took long time for the food and when it arrived it was very bland. The burritos and bowls both lacked flavor. The fish they tout was bland. read more

Katakana and Alejandra are always courteous and polite, their customer service is top notch. They always make us feel welcome and that's why we keep coming back to this establishment. The food tastes great, their wahoo's fish and shrimp bowls are delicious and the ingredients taste fresh. I highly recommend this location in laguna beach. read more

Just simply Would not recommend. Bad food, there was hair in it. Half the sodas in the machine didn't work & the ones that didn't have an out of order sign didn't have syrup. I spoke to the lady at the register about it & she didn't seem to care. read more

One of my favorite restaurants!! First of all, the price is incredible, you get what you pay for and more. I 100% recommend the outer reef burrito. For my choice of protein I chose crispy flounder and it was delicious. You can't be in Laguna and not hit this spot. You will not be disappointed. There's something for everyone and the ambiance and location is just great. Patio looks right out to the ocean. I WILL be coming back. read more

Wahoos closed near me but when I am in Orange County I always try to stop by to get their fish tacos! Not many places sell fish tacos anymore and definitely not in the variety of ways that Wahoo does (in a salad, fried, grilled) nor with the quality of fish that Wahoo does (they use a Wahoo fish). The owner is Chinese so there are also subtle Asian influences that Wahoo brings to certain menu items. Hope that Wahoo opens up more locations in LA County again! read more

WAHOOOO!! Where do I begin? Should I start with the cockroach in the kitchen or the 2 chefs with no masks on??? Like WHAT?!! Not only was the wait extremely long for what we ordered, but they also just forgot to give us onion rings so we were even more upset when we got home. Half of the order was made for dine-in when it should have been for take-out and the switch to take-out took 10 extra minutes. To be frank, this place was a hot mess. And after the whole cockroach nightmare, which I could have made a huge deal of, they didn't even do anything about it when I showed them the cockroach!! This Wahoo's is awesome. Last night, we called them to order 80 tacos + rice & beans for 40 people, & they were able to take care of the order in only an hour! We had other plans that fell through at the last minute & Wahoo's saved the day. True heroes. They even threw in some extra rice & chips. We love coming to any Wahoo's Tacos location, this one was no exception and we really had great food and customer service. I think the girl who helped us with the order was named Bryanna or something close to that, she was very friendly and got the order right with no problems. The food came out very quick and we enjoyed the food and the beer to go with it. "Salmon Bowl Spectacular!" This restaurant is right on PCH and is very popular with the locals. On Thursday it was fairly busy, but I'm told that on weekends it's a madhouse. It's easy to see why. They have huge selection of fish as well as other protein ingredients. I ordered one of the more expensive options, the salmon Bowl. Including the soda it was about $14 and well worth it! It comes with slaw on the side as well as rice. Absolutely perfection. You are given one of those pager type devices, but the server actually brought me my order personally. Yea! five star service! They have seating upstairs, downstairs, as well as patio seating. A lot of tourists and locals come right in from the beach wearing their swimsuits. I would like to preface this one-star review with a positive recollection of the way this Wahoo's used to be. You see, my dad used to take me here all the time since I was around 6-years-old, and I have the fondest of memories of eating here almost every weekend. It used to be so inviting, and the workers made you feel more like family than a customer; it would seem those days are long over, though, and it is with a heavy heart that I rate this place one star. When we walked in there were no workers at the registers, but they were content to be laughing in the back with one worker willing to stand and stare at us for a while as they shot the breeze. Once a worker was finally sent to us and we ordered, we went and found our seats not knowing we'd be waiting for food for over twenty minutes. That wouldn't be such a big deal, but we ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer that was never announced as being ready. When I went down to check on the chips and guac I asked the worker if it was ready, he laughed at me and yelled into the kitchen with a condescendingly wavering voice, "These people want to know 'If tHe ChiPS aNd GuAcAmolE ArE ReAdY'?" As if asking if chips and dip for an appetizer after twenty minutes of waiting was somehow a ridiculous request. At least they got all the food out at the same time almost thirty minutes later, but I found out they only deliver alcoholic beverages to tables now and not the food. After being mistreated for asking the status of the appetizer I was reluctant to approach the register again, but I did to ask if all the food was there because it was served in to-go boxes and I couldn't see it all. Once again, but this time from the manager, I received more unprofessional and rude attitude. Needless to say it'd take a miracle to get me back to this place, because I couldn't even bring myself to take a picture of the undercooked food. Did I mention there were only five other customers and one takeout order during that time? Rest in peace to this once-great post-surf hangout, and maybe one day it'll go back to what it once was. read more

We were passing by Laguna beach when we decided to grab a quick meal from here and I must say this place disappointed at so many levels. Food: The food was not very good, I found it a bit bland. Not the best Mexican food I've eaten. Service: They were good with the COVID precautions, have to give them that. But the service was bad. They missed half of our order. I was in a hurry so did not check if everything was in the bag, that's my fault but I feel the food shouldn't have been missing in the first place. I think now I know where NOT to stop for food in Laguna Beach. read more

I was so happily surprised when I walked to lunch in Laguna Beach yesterday. The restaurant was really clean, and we were greeted as soon as we walked towards the counter. This has not been the case for the last couple years. I told Miguel what a difference the friendly tone made and how nice Wahoo's looked. I asked what happened and he answered with a smile, "I'm the new manager, Miguel. Thank you for the compliment! What can I get for you?" The Sunset Salad with Blackened Fish and #2 Tacos were really good and the Service was great. Doesn't that make everything taste better? I have always liked Wahoo's but had fallen out of like with the Laguna Beach location in the past few years. It had a grumpy vibe and was usually just a bit dingy. I would eat at Wahoos 3-4 times a month several years ago. It has dwindled to 3-4 times a year and I have run into old regulars like myself elsewhere. This location had become a take out mostly place where the old staff would leave you standing in line for 5-10 minutes while they took phone orders. No one wanted to go and sit there anymore. I will be happy to give Miguel and the new team a chance to be a part of my lunchtime at least monthly again. And perfect timing, I love their Chicken Tortilla Soup in the winter! read more

This was our first place to visit on our trip to Laguna beach. It is easy to find on the main road. You will order and pay before you sit. The drinks are self serve. The food we ordered had an average turn over of 12 minutes. We had some nice local tacos. Their recipes are pretty average. Nothing special about this location. The food here is great for lunch/dinner! Usually consistent, fresh & tasty. They have great options for meat eaters, pescatarians & vegetarians. Love the Kale Kai salad, nachos & tacos! They also have many healthy options too. That being said, the service is the reason for my 1-star deduction. Certainly not the employees' faults, as they were working very hard; however, they definitely need more workers. Every time I have visited, there is a huge wait to order & an even longer wait to receive your food. Today, there was one girl working on the register, also answering phones & packing the bags. The women making the food had her mask barely around her lips only (the entire mouth and nose part should be covered). Surfer kids were running in & out without masks. Understand this is a casual spot (& don't want to be a "Karen"), but I didn't feel like it was the best way to handle a pandemic. Another thing they should consider is allowing seating to those who have their food. We couldn't find a seat after we got our food, due to the fact that 90% of the tables were filled with people waiting for their parties to order or waiting for their food. read more

The decor is like an old beach house with a fantastic view of the ocean from the deck. Can we talk about the food...... Fresh fish, veggies, beans, guacamole, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, chips and salsa, you name it they got it! I usually order one of the bowls, my fav is the grilled wahoo fish w the black beans, veggies add avacado and extra pico on top. The tacos are always excellent but really you can't go wrong with any of it. Don't skip a cold beverage, the Pacifico on tap is ice cold and hits the spot on a hot and sunny day.
