    Too much rice.

Great food. Mad about the large amount of rice they put in the burritos but other than that, solid food.

I stopped by this little fish taco joint when I was in the area and definitely not disappointed. I know it's a chain, but I think it's one of the only ones in NJ so it doesn't count for me. I love that they have outdoor, dog friendly seating area. It's great especially in the summer when you're out and about. The best part though? The food is bomb. Even though it's a chain, it's got a really fresh quality ingredients! I love that the fish tacos come with slaw and not just plain cabbage. Also the rice and beans that come on the side are absolutely delicious. Honestly overall a great place to stop by for a quick meal. Also, the prices are really reasonable! Especially for the quality of food.

Asada 1988 style and spicy chicken with citrus slaw. Outstanding!

When in Middletown there's only 1 place to get street tacos and beer, that's Wahoo's. They ah e a neat little outdoor area and a bar to sit and eat outside. The interior is roomy and kind of fun. I've been here several times abs tried most of the menu so I can safely say everything is very good. The price points are fair I'd not at bargain levels and you get your belly full to boot. The staff is friendly fast and attentive. Don't miss a chance to tru Wahoo's.

My bestie, goddaughter and I got together for dinner and took a ride to this restaurant. When we arrived I parked in the plaza lot. We walked up and there was indoor and outdoor seating and we choose indoor. The restaurant is set up to order your food at the counter, pay and they will bring it to you at the table. I ordered the Alaskan Flounder burrito teriyaki style. My friend ordered the steak quesadilla. While we waited I went over to the bar and ordered the espresso martini which was good but not enough lol. When the food came it was very good. The owner Rimy came around and checked on us several times and he was very nice. I will say the food and drink was very affordable. All in all I enjoyed my time.

Hubs and I have been wanting to try this place for a while but never got a chance to because we kept forgetting about because we live far away. Well, we finally remembered to come here and give this place a try. He ordered loaded nachos, which is described as your choice of protein topped with jack & cheddar mix, beans, jalapeños, served with salsa, sour cream & guacamole. Hubs said that it had chips, salsa and beans. What's there not to like? However, we could've added any protein to it and it could've tasted the same. He chose the fish as protein but had no clue as to what kind of fish it was. Overall, it tasted like a plate of nachos with a protein on top of it. There was nothing exhilarating about it but it filled him up. Daughter ordered the salmon bowl, which is Alaska salmon grilled with light soy marinade, served over rice & citrus slaw with a side of homemade aioli. She says that it's been a long time since she had cooked salmon and this filled her up. However, she felt it could've used more seasoning. She thought that it was good but it could have been better. Lastly, I had two enchiladas, which is any protein served with rice and beans, garnished with salsa. You can also substitute one side with citrus slaw or salad for an extra charge of 50 cents. I also had fish as well but didn't know what kind of fish it was. I chose to keep my sides and not substitute anything. I had a choice of red or green salsa and chose green. It was ok, no big deal. I felt this place was more Tex Mex/Southwestern kind of food and I'm not crazy about it. Service was ok and quick. Maybe, I'll return to try other items on the menu, eventually....

We were looking for a nice lunch in the area and definitely found it! Deliciously fresh fish tacos and just enough food to fill us up. Really cool place inside for either pick up, dine in, or just grabbing a quick drink at the bar. Really cool place. Friendly place. We'll be back!

Carne Asada with rice and beans

This place doesn't look like much from the outside as it is nestled between a TJ Maxx and a Livoti's. Their menu looks like they have a ton of good options ranging from tacos to bowls. It also tries to present itself like a Southern California beach taco spot. I would also highly recommend sitting at the bar and trying some of their drinks. Finally, I had a bowl with carne asada, rice, and beans. I opted to add avocado slices for a couple extra cents. The carne asada was in a sauce with sautéed vegetables (onions, peppers, and mushrooms). The steak could have used a little more seasoning but the rice was good. The beans were just normal black beans from a can. They could have tried to add some flare to it. Nonetheless, great spot and I am looking forward to trying more food in the future.

I loved the salmon bowl, fresh and tasty- the burrito on the other hand was not so great. Pricing is good, cute atmosphere and outdoor dining. Definitely a cool spot for summer dinner

After reading the reviews, we wanted to give this place a try for dinner…read more The place is small and very minimally decorated, with the restaurant being comprised of plain white walls and 3 gray tables that seat up to 4 people. There is also a 2-seat table near the back as well. A mounted TV sits above the middle table and right below it is a small wooden panel that has the shape of a mermaid carved into it. The ordering counter is off to the side and has an adjoining display case that holds soda cans, condiments, bottled water, and a couple of bags of lettuce. We ordered the following: Crab cake platter. These were 2 jumbo lump crab cakes and the order came with fries. Daughter ate almost all of the fries. I had to fight her for it. LOL. This order was delicious and freshly made. Tuna tataki, which is seared rare tuna with pepper crust, ginger and soy sauce. Daughter liked this a lot. This was a nice presentation which made us wonder if the chef worked at a 5 star dining restaurant instead of a shack. Surprise, surprise! A lot better than we expected. Pint of New England clam chowder, which has clams, bacon and potatoes. Daughter loved it and thought it was delicious. Hubs said that he usually prefers the Manhattan clam chowder but he loved this a lot. He loved that he was able to munch on clams at every spoonful and that it wasn't too thick for him. Manhattan clam chowder wasn't available when we were there. Hopefully, they'll have it the next time we return. Sirens House Salad, which has spring mix, tomatoes, bell peppers, red onions, carrots, parmesan and croutons. The dressing was homemade balsamic vinaigrette. We thought this was pretty good and I was obsessed with the croutons. They tasted fresh and crunchy. I liked everything about this place. Everything tasted freshly made. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu!

We ordered the Pasta Al Forno as an appetizer & Chicken Scarpariello for the main dish. Was quoted 35-40 min when I called it in, arrived ~30 min, paid & food came out near the 40 min quote. The pasta - for us the cheese on top was perhaps over toasted as it was on the dry side. Flavor was fine otherwise. Not sure I'd order this for a main dish without added protein though. The Chicken Scarp - excellent. The chicken & potatoes were very tender. The mild sausage makes this dish come together, it adds a level of savoriness to complement the balsamic sweetness in the sauce. I also like the long angled slices of sausage nicely seared on each side, it was not expected vs other versions that I've had. Meal also came with bread to soak up that chicken sauce. Also noting the place seemed packed, only 2 spots on their lot were open plus it sounded busy inside. Will try it next time onsite with one of my many fine bottles of wine. :)

It always looked like such a cool place, and I had been really interested in checking it out. I finally made it there the other day, after a brief afternoon at a local beach. When we arrived around 6:30 pm on that Friday evening, we could see that the back deck was very full and that the parking lot was also close to capacity. We were able to, thankfully, grab a spot and walked over to the restaurant, climbing the stairs to the second floor where we met the hostess. We were told that the wait for outdoor seating was 40-minutes, while indoors was 30-minutes. Glancing around, the inside dining room was casual and nautically-themed. The tables and bar were bustling. The balcony was just as busy, but offered live music, so we determined that it would be worth waiting the additional time and added our name to the list. In the meantime, we decided to hang by the outdoor bar but were unable find a spot. Thankfully, a duo was vacating one of the few high-top tables in the bar section, which were first-come, first-serve. We grabbed that table and settled in to watch the beautiful sunset over the boats docked in the harbor. The staff and the few patrons we encountered during our visit were all very friendly, which only emphasized the laidback vibe of the waterside venue. The food, however, was mediocre at best. When our dinner was delivered, we did not receive any silverware, so we had to grab that from the bar, which was also from where we had placed our order. I had requested the Pan-Seared Salmon, which was well-cooked and served with thin stalks of asparagus, dry jasmine rice, and a huge amount of buttery garlic herb sauce. It made sense that the fish was served in a bowl, because there was so much greasy butter that it would have leaked all over if it was on a flat plate. Thankfully, the bartender had given me a few side plates, so I was able to move my food out of the oily bowl. My friend also had some issues with her meal. Her cup of New England Clam Chowder was flavorful, but watery and mostly broth. Her Fried Flounder Sandwich was heavily breaded and served with an unripe tomato and mushy, oily fries. From a beverage perspective, they had surprisingly interesting cocktails, but I was thrilled to see my favorite beer, Kane Head High, on tap. We simply loved the view, live acoustic tunes from P.D. Brody, and the overall relaxing atmosphere. However, we felt that the food could have been better executed. The menu offered all kinds of seafood and higher-end bar food, but the preparation left something to be desired.
