Cherry turnover, apricot croissant, blueberry fritter & a crisp
    Mikee B.

This was a nice little bakery in the small town of Wahoo. By the time we got there it was slim pickings but we still got a blueberry fritter, cherry turnover, crisp & a apricot croissant. The blueberry fritter was moist & not heavy like traditional fritters. The best we ever had. The cherry turnover was the perfect balance of sweet & tart. Everything was good & very reasonable. The owner helped us with our selection & was very nice.

10/5 Yelp stars honestly, Sweet Mags is delish, no matter what you try. Except the one time I had…read morean espresso brownie and it was a little dry, but we won't focus on that! I recommend trying everything, there's not one thing over that I'd suggest. The scones are huge, they're moist, they're flavorful, and there are so many great flavors to try. The lemon bar is divine! The decorated shortbread cookies are favorites for Christmas and Valentine's Day. The little rainbow cake slices are perfect for birthdays. I've yet to taste it, but got Nutella hand pies for valentines treats! The cinnamon rolls are heavenly, the cream cheese frosting is lovely. They had a pistachio roll that looked amazing today, so I'll have to come back to try that. This location gets a little difficult with parking, so you may have to park a block or so away if it's a busy time (mornings and weekends). There's always many different treats available but the earlier you get there, the more there are. There's usually a line of a few people but it goes quickly. They have pre-orders online, vegan, and gluten free options also! I want to say they also have custom cakes, but don't quote me on that.

I'm so proud to support Sweet Magnolias because they go beyond just serving delicious baked goods! Today, I tried the S'mores bar, and I was blown away! The graham cracker base and dark chocolate frosting could stand on their own, but the topping of marshmallow fluff and graham cracker crumble elevated the entire bar! It was so good and I can't wait to come back for more!

I suggested Alotta Brownies to a friend for her wedding reception. (I used to be a fan and used to…read moreventure to Fremont just for a sweet treat.) She and her fiancé headed out to Fremont, loved the cake and placed their order. On the day of the reception, the cake arrived with a bubble ... which was said to be caused by the heat ? (although perhaps one should expect this of a hot day if this was indeed the case and do something to prevent such a thing and not come up with excuses.) What was ENTIRELY disappointing and unacceptable was the cake itself. It was over baked, and the outside edges were brown. BROWN. Needless to say the cake was dry and lacked the flavor I and my friend had tasted in the past. My friend told me that the filling flavors were even wrong. Knowing this and the poor attitude that I recently received over the phone when trying to place an order recently I don't see myself ordering from here again.

I hired Alotta Brownies to make my wedding cake and I was unfortunately really disappointed. The…read morepicture I gave them for the example of my cake was not what I had received. My cake ended up being uneven and lopsided. it was not smooth in any place, the flower in the center was supposed to be a hydrangea and it ended up being some weird spikey leaf looking thing. It also looked like it was half way melted. One of my guests saw it and actually asked the baker if it had been melted, and her response was that it was supposed to look that way. It was awful. Definitely not something the owner should have been proud of or even let out of her store. It is quite sad that I wont hang up any of my cake cutting pictures because of how bad it looked.
