I'm visiting from out of town and my girlfriend came here a lot while growing up. This is your perfect small town donut shop and my girlfriend said the interior has been the same since forever. Eating the donuts brought back memories for my girlfriend. Me, I'm not a big donut person and the donuts I tasted were fine, nothing was bad, and it all went well with my morning coffee. I liked they one which was like a cinnamon roll with strawberry jam on it. Like someone else said, it's worth giving a shot, but don't expect to be blown away. It's not going to be the best donut ever, but it's not a terrible donut either. They were out of apple fritters when we got there in the morning, that would be something I would like to try next time we're back in town.

"A Sweet Retreat in Blair, Nebraska" Nestled in the heart of Blair, Nebraska, Jim & Connie's Blair Bakery is a hidden gem for all lovers of baked goods and donuts. This charming bakery and donut shop has become my go-to spot for delectable treats that won't break the bank. The first thing that strikes you about this bakery is its inviting atmosphere. The cozy interior exudes warmth and a delightful aroma of freshly baked goods, making it impossible to resist stepping inside. The staff is incredibly friendly and eager to assist with your selections. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the pastries and donuts! This place offers a mouthwatering array of baked goods that cater to every palate. From classic glazed donuts to assorted creations there's something for everyone. The best part? The prices are incredibly reasonable, ensuring you can indulge without worrying about your wallet. The quality of the treats here is exceptional. Each bite is a burst of flavor, and you can tell that they use high-quality ingredients. Whether you're in the mood for a flaky croissant, a gooey cinnamon roll, or a sugar-dusted donut, you won't be disappointed. If you're a coffee lover, you're in for a treat as well. They offer coffee and some other drinks. It's the ideal way to start your morning. In summary, Jim & Connie's Bakery is a delightful bakery and donut shop that checks all the boxes. Affordable prices, delicious treats, friendly staff, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit in Blair, Nebraska. I can't recommend it enough, and I'll definitely be returning for more of their heavenly creations. Please bring cash! I think they only take cash or check (I am not 100% sure about check). Please call to verify. Also you can call to reserve your donuts. I heard they usually sell out their donuts by ten o'clock.

Great prices and delicious doughnuts! We came here on a Thursday from Elkhorn to explore the Blair area and our first stop was this bakery that EVERYONE from Blair has been telling us to go to. Very much a small town doughnut shop including regular patrons who were known by name, cash only purchasing, and decorations that looked like they came straight from your Grandma's house. The interior is really tight and while there's one table, you really feel like you can't sit there because the space is so jam packed. We ended up eating the doughnuts in our car. They tasted fresh, flavorful, and just the right amount of softness/airiness. Prices weren't listed (I heard they charge however they feel) but our first batch of doughnuts was only $12 and then the second time we came in it was about $6 so I'm going to venture to say they were maybe $2 each? Overall, would definitely stop in the next time we're in town but would not necessarily make a special trip for them.

Overall I am really glad we made the trip up from Omaha to finally try these doughnuts. The best part of the experience is the charm in the atmosphere inside. Most of the donuts are on trays or in baking dishes in the glass case, and the entire interior decor reminds me of my grandma's house times 100. There are so many knickknacks and cookie jars and roosters everywhere but it has a very homey feel. We loved the local color here. There's a small table inside for communal seating, and a roll of paper towels on the table. The flavor of the donuts was great, but we did feel they were on the greasy side. The apple fritter was enormous but was also oily on the bottom. The glazed donut which I thought was only a little greasy was still warm like a Krispy Kreme doughnut, but not as sickeningly sweet. They only take cash or checks, so remember to bring some with you. And we were told they sell out fast, so we did call ahead and have them set aside a couple donuts for us since we had a longer trip up.

The most heartfelt little bakery that makes you feel like you're back at grandma's house. Such a cute atmosphere. The donuts or some of the best that I've ever had in my life. The owners were so sweet and friendly!!

Stopped here this last weekend when I was spending the fourth with my sister, brother-in-law and their kids. It has a small town feel with the local farmers sitting around drinking coffee. That's the highest praise a small place in the Midwest can get. If you can get the farmers there, you've got steady customers. The donuts were delicious and huge. One of, if not THE, best donuts I've ever had. The picture doesn't look that great and that's my fault, it got a little warm in the car. Connie was great and it seems like her family works there, as well. Do not skip out on this place if you are anywhere close to Blair!

The decorated shortbread cookies are favorites for Christmas and Valentine's Day. The little rainbow cake slices are perfect for birthdays. I've yet to taste it, but got Nutella hand pies for valentines treats! The cinnamon rolls are heavenly, the cream cheese frosting is lovely. They had a pistachio roll that looked amazing today, so I'll have to come back to try that. This location gets a little difficult with parking, so you may have to park a block or so away if it's a busy time (mornings and weekends). There's always many different treats available but the earlier you get there, the more there are. There's usually a line of a few people but it goes quickly. They have pre-orders online, vegan, and gluten free options also! I want to say they also have custom cakes, but don't quote me on that.

Knowing it's near Brother Sebastian's helps. There was a table set up right by the door that reminded me of a kid's book called America's White Table by Raven. It's a symbol for and remembrance to service members fallen, missing, or held captive in the line of duty. It made me stop and think for a minute. The server behind the counter was very helpful, describing the various goodies. It was hard to choose. I ended up with a chocolate chip cookie, a cappuccino chocolate candy cup, a loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread and one of their specialty items which I can't name. It's a small bowl-shaped croissant. It was delicious. Tomorrow, I will be making toast for breakfast to sample the bread.

Guests are welcomed in by the inviting store front and once inside the aromatic smells bring you to some of the most delectable bites experienced in quite some time. On a whim, we stopped after lunch which is unusual because we both had filling lunches and skipped any offers of dessert at the restaurant. But, there was something about the old fashioned black and white signage and exterior that lured us in and once the amazing smells hit us, we were destined for a purchase. After consulting the helpful bakers, we decided on a gluten free peanut butter banana muffin, three turtle cookies and a cinnamon roll. Keep in mind we had turned down desserts at lunch! Our eclectic assortment was beautifully boxed and we left the bakery. It should be noted that the box remained sealed for half of the 100 mile trip home. We broke down and shared one of the turtle cookies--a chocolate chunk cookie with a mound of pecans in the middle and caramel drizzled over the top of the cookie. It was heavenly! I did not get a bite of the muffin but my husband and son apologized. Once they started eating it they could not stop. The cinnamon roll was good but we will load up on cookies and muffins on our next trip to Norfolk. The industrial feeling interior of the bakery had indoor seating toward the front and display cases in the back. Clean and bright, this local bakery has customer service figured out. We will be returning to Norfolk but we will skip lunch and head to the bakery first!
