Recently attended a wedding that had a Butterfly Bakery wedding cake and macarons…read more I was blown away by the cake- it was a gorgeous, three-tiered, heart-shaped cake with three flavors: classic wedding cake, carrot and red velvet. Each flavor was decadent and delicious- coated in a sweet buttercream frosting, yum yum! The macarons were equally delicious! They were soft and the cream was airy and flavorful. My favorite was the chocolate- so good. The colors were also so cute. The pastels really complimented the vibe for the wedding. I heard that the service was amazing, too! Everything was on-time and the Butterfly team coordinated nicely with the wedding planner. The vibe of the bake shop is friendly and cute.

I'm really disappointed with how far this place has fallen off. This used to be my favorite spot…read morefor cupcakes, but the last few times I've visited, the quality just hasn't been there. Several flavors--including the cherry cheesecake, wedding cake, and princess--were dry and lacked the moistness I used to love. The carrot cake was so soggy it tasted underdone. What surprised me most was the owner's response after I shared my feedback with an employee. She actually called me, but instead of trying to make it right, she told me nothing had changed with the recipe and maybe the ovens just needed calibrating. No offer to replace the cupcakes or even a simple apology. In my experience, a caring owner would have at least offered a refund or replacement to make things right. Unfortunately, it doesn't feel like customer satisfaction is a priority here anymore. My family and I will take our business elsewhere. I decided to check and sure enough the owner changed around the time I started having a poor experience here. FYI, Maybe you are over mixing your batter and it's not the oven.

Three, old guys on the hunt for a good donut. When one noticed the name "Hurts Donut" he determined…read morethat would be our destination. He laughed hard when he first saw the name and was curious why we other two weren't enjoying the joke. I had never had the "Hurts Donut" trick pulled on me nor had our third buddy. Now I know about it and I didn't have to suffer the sick joke as a kid. Oh, about the donut shop... Good luck finding it. Siri got us to the exact location but there is no sign out front a large building that houses several businesses. The scout we sent to make sure we were at the right place happened to notice a young lady outside this big building wearing a "Hurts Donut" shirt. He waved us in. We were unanimous in that, of the wide variety of donuts in the display, none looked appetizing to us. We cannot judge if the donuts taste good since we did not buy any. We did spot a huge apple fritter in the corner of the display and we bought that and shared it. This fritter was really good. (Had it not been that employee's break time when we arrived, we may not have found Hurts Donut.)
