General Taos Chicken

Best Chinese food spot in the neighborhood. Customer Service is excellent. They're always smiling, polite, and helpful. I tend to customize my order & they're always willing to oblige & get it right! Delivery: I tend to do pickup, but when I can't I order for delivery. They're prompt & the delivery driver is always nice & calls you when he's literally at your door & not like blocks away. I always tip via my card since you know what & the delivery person always thanks me for that. It's nice that they know ahead that they got a tip because I feel bad not giving them cash upon delivery. The restaurant inside is nice & clean. Plexiglass, mic, and hand sanitizer are being use. Now, for the food! I've had a variety of things here. From Generals Taos Chicken to the Buffalo Wings. I've yet to be disappointed. There's a reason I always choose them when in the mood for chinos. The chicken is literally white meat! Not that weird Grey stuff & it's more chicken than batter! Always a plus. Seasoned well & when asked for spicy they definitely comply. The chicken wings here are on point! They make a good Buffalo chicken Wing! Honey wings & garlic wings too. The fries are always crispy & not soggy. They have a delicious fried scallop! It's huge & it's not like other chino spots. If you know, you know. My SO loves their chicken and Broccoli. Veggies are always cooked well. Not soggy or under cooked. Just right. This is my go to spot for chinos! Pics to verify!

'Eat to live not live to eat' is always popping up in my head when I have no choice to pick a good place to eat. Another day working in a suburb I have no idea what should I eat in the area. Wah Hing Kitchen is a typical Chinese place. Looks clean and everyone seems friendly. I ordered a house special chow mein and chicken with sting bean for togo.

Been my local spot for 20+ years. Always good service. The food is good. Delivery, when needed, is more than satisfactory.

Hit or miss. Some days it's really good and other days it lacks major flavor. They need to work on consistency.

Hours on Yelp are not correct, restaurant was not open. Not rating food or service as I attempted to visit on a Monday night at 7pm-ish.

Food is good, quiet and clean…read more Service is impeccable. My fiance and I drink water like fish. Our glasses were never empty. Warning to all with a pineapple allergy like me: do not eat the duck sauce. If you like spicy ask for hot mustard instead. Orange chicken was crispy and flavorful. I did not find it spicy, but my spice tolerance is very high. My fiance had the chicken with broccoli and it looked amazing. Try the cold noodles. They are chewy and delicious. For me the fried dumplings were good, but not great. Worth a try but nothing to rave over.

I ordered the cured pork with garlic shoots and dry fried green beans. The cured pork was quite salty, and paired well with the buttery, tender leeks it was cooked with. The dish was not overly oily, and was pleasant over white rice. I enjoyed the chewiness of the pork which allowed you to experience the complex flavor. The green beans were well fried, with characteristic texture signature to this dish. The seasoning was very well balanced and not overpowering to the natural sweetness of the green beans. I would recommend either dish. They were both slightly toned down iterations when compared to the times I've eaten these dishes at other Sichuan restaurants in flushing, but still well seasoned and well cooked. The service was very warm and friendly, and many other customers seemed to be returning regulars.

However, the delivery experience has been very uncomfortable. On my last order, I only had $13 left in my bank account and paid $11 for the food. When the delivery driver arrived, he immediately demanded a tip. I explained that I didn't have cash, but he insisted that I send him a tip through Zelle. He stood there and refused to leave until I did it. He literally watched me open my banking app, saw that I only had $2 left in my account, and still waited while I sent those last $2 as a tip. He even checked to make sure the payment went through before leaving. I want to be clear that I do tip when I can, because I understand that delivery drivers work hard. But sometimes money is tight and people are just trying to afford food. Being pressured and essentially forced to tip is extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional.

I got an order of scallion pancake that is somehow both over and under cooked and just filled with oil. I got a lunch special of chicken with broccoli in a garlic sauce. When I tasted it, I had to check that it was chicken. This was the fishiest, worst chicken with broccoli I've ever had. I called them to make sure it had no fish, they laughed at me and said no but the flavors don't lie. It's in the garbage now uneaten

But when you don't have the luxury of a car and you don't want to pay 40 dollars on UberEats for good Chinese food, you'll be convinced to try your luck in the area. Not gonna lie, I chose Dumpling House because it was the closest Chinese food near me, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The women who greeted me at the counter was friendly and took my order: one large hot and sour soup and a small house special fried rice. I wouldn't recommend coming on a hot day because the shop can be hot if you're waiting for takeout, but the wait wasn't too long. After about 15 to 20 minutes, I was walking home with $11 dollar takeout. The hot and sour soup is pretty good and I've had a lot of hot and sour soup in my life. The consistency is not too thin or thick and the flavor is balanced (not too sweet or sour). For 5 dollars, I think it's a steal. The house special rice is good and not too greasy. For some reason, it still tasted Americanized even with the Asian ingredients I was used to. There was some chicken, barbecue pork, mixed veggies, egg, etc. and the ingredients mixed well despite it tasting American. Even though I got a small rice, I still had some leftover to eat the next day. Despite my obviously biased Asian tastebuds, I was very happy with what I got and I will definitely be back for some more hot and sour soup!

My strong proclivity for dumpling noodle soup continues as a predilection of Chinese comfort food…read moreas my cultural roots origin. When life is lackadaisical and you need an uplifting force or encouragement for catharsis to be resilient as an awakening, dumplings are summoned. It brings presence to every bite for awareness and genuine aliveness. My emotional pain cannot be disconnected for healing. As I sat in silence I checked my email waiting for my order fulfillment and arrival. This business is a local cafe, not quite a restaurant but very Asian specifically a medley of Chinese dumplings and heavy Japanese decor atmosphere. I was very bewildered of this dumpling business is Japanese or Chinese cuisine, or possibly both incorporated? Asian fusion? Japanese beckoning cat, maneki-neko 招き猫, is heavy presence for decor atmosphere throughout the entire cafe. There is one large Japanese beckoning cat with one paw raised in a beckoning gesture by the cash wrap register. This beckoning cat is adorable! The menu is very simple offerings but does not describe the contents in detail. It is not a extensive list as it is a cafe. The server/cashier advise to order first, sit to eat and pay last like a full service restaurant. This business has been listed in my Yelp bookmark to try for a long time. The slightly warm temperature has teased me to induce Spring Fever as the first full day post Daylight Saving Time, 2026 and I was outdoors for walk as exercise. Sauces and condiments are available at a station counter. There is one large TV. Background music is somewhat loud audible and sourced by Spotify. Customer service is average. There is one unisex facility on the premise and is relatively clean. There is a small parking lot in the front shared with neighboring businesses. This business is located in a small shopping complex named Metro Plaza. Chicken dumpling noodle soup, $12.00 The dumplings were pan seared fried, unfortunately not traditionally boiled especially for noodle soup. The dumplings are average. The noodles were rice vermicelli with half boiled egg and scallions in Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen soup base broth. The Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen soup base broth and half boiled egg is a replica of Japanese Ramen noodle soup. It was served piping hot. Chinese soup spoon Tangzhi ladle where the end is at a angle is provided with one disposable wooden chopstick as utensils. Jasmine Tea, cold $1.50 This was awful! It was one tea bag filled with ice. I did not taste the Jasmine aromatic flavor. Stay away from ordering any drink as Song Dumpling Cafe is good for dumplings. It is certainly no bubble tea business to obtain quality Chinese tea. After my MTA NYC Transit SBS Q52 bus ride, I walked from Woodhaven Boulevard moving east on Metropolitan Avenue to gain access.
