Limited menu but good to visit not keen on bench seating but staff are kind and accommodating. Not brilliant takeaways though!

I like this place…read more If you have visited Japan & Korea etc and have been missing the atmosphere of a ramen shop, this will suit you perfectly. It does a very good deal on a 'stop the clock' idea, which means you can sit and eat for two hours, from the moment of your first order. The cost is £15.80 which can't be bad. Personally I recommend the Bulgogi, thin sliced BBQ steak. Ushikata! I have hesitated in recommending Teppan Oriental because its very appeal is that all the customers are apparently Korean, Japanese or Chinese and this adds to the atmosphere...

Dishes are often cooked at the diner's table on metal grills that are built into the center of the table where diners can enjoy doing there own grilling/bbq at the dinner table. The Chinese Hot Pot also known as Shabu Shabu in Japan, and in Singapore and Malaysia the Steamboat. Like fondue but replaced with a simmering metal pot of stock at the centre of the table where diners place their ingredients into the pot to cook. The cooked food is usually eaten with a variety of dipping sauces. Typical Hot Pot dishes include thinly sliced meat, vegetables, dumplings and seafood. Here in Teppan we have a vast choice of ingredients, dipping sauces and stock.

The "Trip Advisor" stickers were the first clue. The menu of "Pan-Asian Street Food", "dishes from…read morethe street stalls of far East Asia", was the second. The third clue was the location, somewhat off the beaten path in Oxford. What were these clues leading up to? The fact that I'd love this restaurant. When I returned that evening the first question asked was whether I had reservations. My heart dropped a beat admitting that I did not and then returned to normal when they brought me upstairs in an already full restaurant to seat me at a delightful 2-person table overlooking the street below. I faced inward though, wanting to observe everything that others were ordering. I sampled only edamame (£4.2), Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap (£10.5), Thai Green Curry (with tofu, £12.8), and a Boba drink but this was the type of place - in every regard - that I'd have liked to sample the entire menu. Perhaps you won't require as many clues as me to give PAN PAN a try. Perhaps this 5-star recommendation will be enough. I highly recommend this spot. (Note: Reasonable 10% service fee is automatically added to your bill).

When we go out to eat we normally argue over Indian or Chinese food so this was perfect as it has both!! Situated above the new Buddha Bar which used to be Natraj indian Restuarant, in the Beford place area. The decor inside is very modern and upmarket and looks really nice, it has a nice atmosphere and the service is good. On the two occasions we have been be have opted for the buffet which is half indian and half chinese. On both occasions the food has been wondeful. Both sets of food have obviously been cooked by someone who knows what they are doing and there is a good range. Chinese wise i remember there being - Steamed rice, fried rice, chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, beef in black bean sauce, pekinf duck, another main dish, spring rolls, prawn toasts, prawn crackers and a few other bits. Indian - Pilau rice, onion bahji, pakoras, naan bread, korma, tikka, another hotter curry, popadoms and then salad. The only downside to this is the expensive price which was around £17.00. I know it is a mixed buffet but for southampton this is a bit high. However i think this will go down as there were not many people in there. Drinks were also not cheap. Worth a go if you have the cash tho!

Decor is really nice and waiting staff were very nice and welcoming. We had a mix of Buffet and menu - buffet which included Indian and Chinese dishes (over 20 dishes) was very well priced at £13.95pp and a la carte menu was also well priced. Our bill came to under £65 for 4 people including drinks and this is well below what you would expect to pay for a nice food and venue. worth a visit - we'll definately book next time

It was probably way I went. Looking for surly spices going around burning people and collecting ASBO's sounded like a good night out if I'm being honest. Much to my dismay it was far more civilised than that and found it to be a Thai restaurant too. I like Thai as I'm newish to it and am still finding myself ordering whatever looks good rather than going for a usual dish I like. Beef with hot thai bean sauce was my weapon of choice and I wasn't disappointed. There was a small Spicy riot in my mouth, but nothing I couldn't handle and found it very tasty indeed. The staff were polite and served as well, nothing out of the blue though. It did take a little longer than I would of liked but that may of been due to the large number of bodies that were taking up my air and my time, so it was understandable.

The interior is modern and very well furnished. Not a typical, authentic setting for this kind of cuisine, it's still pleasant enough and certainly kept clean and in good condition. The staff here are friendly enough, although given the nature of buffet dining, there's pretty much very little they have to do. Staff are keen to offer refills on drinks, but this isn't entirely innocent. With the quite cheap prices on buffet food, the drinks are a little bit more expensive and carry a bit of a premium. The food is pretty average. That's an honest opinion. Really don't think it's anything to write home about, and i'd hardly call it authentic and flavoursome. The poor quality of the food is detrimental to the whole experience quite significantly. After all, you do go out to eat the food, not take in the surroundings.
