This is an introvert's dream come true! I can just walk in, go up to a screen to place my order, and minutes later it's ready to grab and go? YES, PLEASE. We came here one night when we were just "food stuck" (y'know that feeling: you're too tired to make a decision about dinner, as you debate about what to get, it keeps getting later and you keep getting hangrier...). Takeaway really was as easy as mentioned above!
We ordered...
+ Edamame: it's a pretty small container!
+ Avo Baby Rolls: it's like a dozen MINI sushi rolls with just rice and a piece of avocado! Very easy to crush a box of these!
- Veggie Sushi Collection: this had the avo baby rolls, the veggie maki (picked carrots, avocado, green beans, and mint), and the veggie dragon roll (which is the same thing as the veggie maki but it's topped with crispy shallots, a spicy sauce, and a teriyaki sauce), as well as ginger and additional carrot shreds and avocado slices as a salad. I wasn't a fan of the veggie maki (I thought it was strangely soggy, and green bean/mint are not flavor profiles I prefer in my sushi); the crispy shallots and spicy sauce on the dragon roll version helped improve the taste, but I wouldn't order this again.
+/- Vegetable Fusion Gyoza: these were about as basic a veggie gyoza as you can get, but when you're ravenous and it's almost 9pm...
- Extra soy: I think it was like an additional £1 for every extra soy sauce (and they're VERY small bottles - the same size as one avo baby roll).
I don't think this location, at the time of visiting, had the Spicy Edamame (with ssamjang chilli sauce) because we definitely would have gone for those. Lots of non-sushi vegan options that would keep us coming back though: veggie meatballs with coconut and the veggie gyoza noodle bowl for example! read more
