I love tapas because I'm awful at making up my mind what to choose in a restaurant. This is the…read moreperfect solution - lots of little dishes to share! I went in on a Saturday lunchtime and found the service very efficient without feeling rushed. It was surprisingly quiet, so we forgot about the world around and were able to concentrate on the delicious food. The dishes are in the range of about £3.50 - £5.50 each and they're usually split into 2-3 bits, so can be shared if necessary. I recommend getting bread as well - it's great for soaking up sauces and is nice, soft ciabatta style with tomato sauce to dip it in. Particularly recommended: - deep-fried chicken soaked in garlic - not at all greasy and very tasty - potato with layers of goats cheese, ham and tomato - prawns with scrambled egg and asparagus (much, much taster than it sounds!) The sangria comes with a good amount of fruit in it and at £3 a glass is cheap and plenty enough to last a meal (if you can resist another one, anyway!). All in all a really nice place if you're into tapas and a great introduction if you've never tried it.

My favourites are the selection of cheese, the garlic prawns and the little ham croquettes. Try a jug of sangria with it - it's very well done here and compliments the food greatly. This is a lovely place, decorated in a way inkeeping with the food and very private. The tables are well spaced, so you don't feel cramped or overheard. I like this place for dates or for a meal with a good mate. Always busy, so best to book it unless you've got time to have a drink at the bar first (which is no bad thing here). Go for a great, relaxed meal on one of Oxford's loveliest streets.

Fun restaurant. Very buzzy at night, more mellow during the day…read more The menu is made up of all sorts of tapas style food from all ocer the world, and steaks. Hummus, meatballs, shrimp, tempura are examples of 20 or so choices. You can order any number of dishes, each od which is large snack size. We ordered meatballs, vegetable tempura, honey spiced chicken wings, olives and spice rubbed chips. Each dish was as tasty as the other. Service was wonderful, immediate and very friendly. But we went in at 2pm on Saturday, so the place was very quiet, which meant the staff were not busy at the time. Nice food, fun and lovely service. Reasonable price (£30 for the meal, which included one large glass of wine). Highly recommend.

Between 4 of us we ordered 14 dishes including roast tomatoes with halloumi, chorizo with goats cheese, lambs kidney toasts, cider braised pigs cheeks, plaice goujons with lemon mayo, mexican wrap, roasted vegetable kebabs. Prices range from £2.75 to £3.95 per dish and everything was well-cooked and very tasty. It's a great concept and if you've ever read a menu and wanted more than 1 thing on it or just wanted a whole bunch of starters, - you'll love this.

Quick glance: + Italian tapas!…read more+ great value for money + good for group + home-cooked quality Full Review: Like Italian food? Going in a large group? Want to try a bit of everything instead of just one main dish? Higgin's Pantry is the place! It offers a variety of Italian (and Mediterranean) dishes in tapas-portion, as well as full-sized pizzas and pasta if you want just mains to yourself. Or you can do it family-style, order from both and share! The food reminds me of something that would come out of Nonna's kitchen. Nothing spectacular but tasty and filling. The complimentary bruschetta at the start was perfect to whet the appetite. The portion size is bountiful; you can easily share a regular-sized pasta between two and ensure you save room for dessert. The tapas come in generous portion sizes; make sure to give the baby calzone a try. When we dined there one evening, there was a group of merry Italien men having a great time at Higgin's at the table behind us. I think that's an impressive endorsement!
