Service was nice, vibes were good. Rice noodles were not soaked properly before cooking so they were a little under done but the flavor was alright.

Good Thai food place with unique and fun decor, uncomfortable seating if you get the stool and high table. I got a Tom yum soup which, in hindsight, is probably meant to be shared (it was quite large but tasted rather authentic, and I just returned from Thailand). The food was tasty, my friends mostly ordered their pad Thai and were happily satisfied. Students get 20% off their order, but still isn't the most affordable. I suppose this makes sense since it's within walking distance of most of the Oxford colleges and is near high street. The service was good, the staff were very nice, accommodating, understanding, and attentive. Will visit again

A good Thai restaurant in Oxford. My Thai friends brought me there. Using their words "it's not authentic but the food is good". The vibe is really nice here. The service are good too. I personally think the food is pretty good. It's on the sweeter side to fit more people's taste but it's still tasty. The price, on the other hand, is relatively high comparing to all the other Thai restaurants nearby.

Went here last night for dinner after eyeing this place, and was kinda disappointed. I went on a weekday after normal dinner hours and the service wasn't great. It was hardly busy too. I will say I love the inside, it's so cool and authentic. I really enjoyed how they tried to make you feel like you were in Thailand, as soon as you enter there's a auto rickshaw to your right and everything else is basically made out of wood. Also love the music choice. I ordered the sukiyaki noodles with tofu and one of their mango vodka cocktails (forgot what it's called I think it's their Phi Phi Bellini?) and was disappointed with the portion size as well as how long it took for it to come out. Also when they came to check up on us after we got our food, it was kind of half-heartedly done. Also surprised that getting water wasn't a given. The food itself however was pretty good.

Thaikhun is a place for any wanderluster with a love or desire for the east. After spending far too long admiring the ornaments and decorations covering the walls while drinking a Chang beer we started to look at the extensive choices on the menu. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of vegetarian choices with plenty of both vegetable and tofu options. For starter I went for 'Por Pia Sod Tofu' (fresh spring rolls) while my boyfriend went for 'Moo Dad Deow', fried pork marinated in palm sugar, coriander, pepper and soy sauce. While you are dining the experience continues, complete with the waiters/waitresses wearing your typical Thai travelling pants and the authentic music playing in the background. After taking forever to decide on a main I finally went for the Tofu Panang curry with Jasmine rice and my boyfriend went for Kao Ka Prao Gai (chicken with thai basil and chilli). I have to say the Panang curry was incredible; full of spice and so much flavour with the tofu cooked to perfection, I can honestly say it does rival some of the meals that I had in Thailand, it was that good. My boyfriend's comments on his meal pretty much echoed my feelings as well. Despite being extremely full; as always I managed to find space for dessert, because I can not say no to dessert and I especially can not say no to fried bananas and ice cream. My bloated stomach and I regretted nothing. Thaikhun also have an extensive cocktail list in particular the Phi Phi Bellini; mango vodka and passion fruit puree topped with fizzy prosecco, sounds delicious and I will be making a trip back to sample a few.

I wish I had more stars to give - the place is amazing! I won a Twitter competition to get a meal for two & what a prize - we were treated to anything we wanted from the menu including drinks - unfortunately both of us were driving do we weren't able to take full advantage of this! We ordered prawn crackers to nibble on while we looked over the menu. We chose three starters to share (chicken satay, fried pork & salt/pepper squid) - the pork was incredible, we couldn't get enough of it!! For my main I had the panang goong (prawn curry) with coconut rice - again totally delicious. To finish we shared a mango sorbet & coconut ice cream which we really didn't need as we were both so full but it was lovely. I washed all this down with a gin cooler & a mango smoothie. The atmosphere & decor in the place was fantastic with do much to look at all around the place. I would highly recommend visiting on your birthday as you will be treated to happy birthday being sung to you at your table - ooh and definitely order the self serving beer pump for your table!!!!

Standard home cooking, simple and fresh. The coconut rice we ordered had a strong coconut fragrance and taste to it, proper stuff! The stir fry is fresh and standard - a little bit salty but coconut rice neutralised it well. The chicken skewers were a little dry but marinated well before cooking. There were two sauce dishes provided with the skewers, one was the standard satay sauce, but I want to mention is the second sauce, it is clear watery looking, with tiny bits of chopped carrots inside, but the light pickle-y and sour taste of this sauce together with the satay really transformed the skewers! I'm surprised with this new flavour! Overall, the skewers + 1 dish + rice came to £20, not the cheapest for the quality. Overall solid 3 stars.

Had a craving for Thai food, so came in here, and it seemed like many others thought the same - it was pretty ram packed. We were lucky to be offered a table when we came in, as on the way out others had to hang around the upstairs waiting. The decorations in this place are worth seeing in itself, many items seem to be transplanted straight from a Bangkok marketplace. Definitely makes for an amusing gander whilst waiting for food. Some of the staff also wear some Thai style pants/trousers, which adds to the charm. I had stir fried pork while my friend took the green curry, both dishes came with jasmine rice. The pork was quite spicy, though they do warn in the menu. We also had fish 'cakes' which actually resembled meat balls, they weren't anything special in my opinion however, and didn't really taste anything of fish. The staff here were friendly, but a bit forgetful (had to ask for water a couple of times), possibly given how busy it was that night, but that's understandable. My friend lost something here, but they found it and offered to mail it back via post, so some good customer relations there!

Noodles and soda! (£9.50 for noodles, £2.50 for soda)

I was debating between 4/5 stars over price point, but this place just isn't four stars. I'll start off with the caveat that this place isn't cheap. I originally was planning on going to Noodle Nation but had a last minute craving for good Thai dessert. The restaurant interior is beautiful and while slightly trite has plenty of art and decor that remind you of Thailand (one of the seats resembles the floating market boat). The restaurant is always upbeat and simultaneously spacious amongst it's 2.5 floors (hard for restaurants to achieve this duality). I asked the waitress for recommendations, and she was honest and spot on. There's nothing I love more than when a waiter or waitress are decisive and right. Per her recommendation, I chose the sukiyaki noodles over the pad Thai and couldn't be happier with my decision. It was absolutely delicious, and I'm definitely coming back. The service was extremely quick for a sit down, and I was able to get in and out within 35 minutes. Had I not also ordered the fried banana, that would have been 25 minutes. I recommend going with a friend or two and going family style but warn you the food may be too delicious for you to share.

The front door is interesting an has an interesting history with the building dating back to 1637. I was greeted when I walked upstairs and given a menu. I ordered Veggie Spring Rolls (Popia Tod), the Tom Ka with chicken and Pad See-Ew Noodles with chicken. It didn't take long to get my order and it was all still hot when I arrived back at my hotel. They also wrap it all quite tight so nothing spills out. The Spring Rolls weren't what I was expecting. I thought they were going to be fresh spring rolls but they are fried; it does say on the menu but I didn't read that part. It came with a plum sauce but would have been nicer with some hot mustard. Unfortunately, they do not do fresh spring rolls. The Tom Ka soup was quite good. It's a bit heavier than most Tom Ka soups I've had and I would have preferred it to be a bit spicy. The Pad See-Ew was fantastic. They serve a very generous portion and it's just delicious! And like the soup, it would be nice if it was a little spicy. I'm sure they can make it spicy if you ask them and I wish I would have asked. The food is very fresh and delicious and I would absolutely come back here.

We were thrilled to get the call while visiting that they were open for lunch and we could get in! It was well-known by the current and former residents that this place is all that. As in, two of our party dropped everything and immediately called a car, despite an impressive list of wedding-related errands. It was all we'd hoped and more. The five of us enjoyed the papaya salad to share, and then each got either the duck confit panang or the pork belly stir fry. Believe the hype. The sauces were layered with so many flavors. The ingredients were juicy and perfectly cooked - tender meat, crisp veggies. Every bite was just as good as the next. The space is small, but not crowded (probably why it can be so hard to get seats), the menu is limited (but has everything you could want), and the service is attentive. I brought my flatmates here, almost couldn't find it, you can easily pass it as the sign of the restuarant is not that eye-catching. Walking in, I noticed that it was a very authetic place, everything was gorgeous! The tables were made of glass/wood and you can see every little detail, plus the showers of coins inside the table..*I'll include a picture once I do some uploads* It was filled with people, which is ALWAYS a good sign. I think there were one-two servers, which was fine, they attended to us in good timing. I ordered the seafood pad thai, wanting the best of both worlds, well besides the chicken since it is seafood, for 7 pounds. Also, i grabbed a milky iced tea for about 3 pounds, less though. My pad thai was good! It was moisted enough and easy to get through, nevermind the good portion size. I hate it when my pad thai is all dried and overcooked. It was light too, not overly greasey. The milky iced tea tasted just like..thai iced tea, so maybe is it that? Besides the fact it wasn't very orange, it did taste like something I can make at home though, but i throughly enjoyed it. Thank god our food came before that big party's.....cause we'd be waiting FOREVER if theirs came first--theirs came after. It's really warm inside..but the temperature changes when you walk into the loo, haha, unexpected.
