At the end of a gorgeous little street (which also appears to have a regular street market) is a little slice of Japan.
Inside this place is dinky and unassuming, nothing too exciting décor wise, it was also really busy on a Saturday so it'll probably be worth giving them a ring to get a table reserved, they had to turn some people away.
Food is a nice spread of all those things we love from Japan, soft fish, crispy batter, pickled goodness. The menu isn't huge though (a favourite of mine) so you get the quality of focus, having said that it was a struggle to narrow it down. Sushi was decent but the cooked bits were better, they get a great crisp on a prawn.
Service was fast and friendly, they seemed very efficient so they had time to help even though it was busy.
If you're in the mood for Japanese then you will do well here, very affordable as well. I know if we lived nearby we would be back to try the rest of the menu, plus they have Chuhai which is well worth trying, be careful though it's easy to drink and strong. read more
