Oh dear. For an Asian billed restaurant it's pretty sad to see the food that is being served. So the rice was so overcooked and waterlogged it turned to mush on the fork/chopsticks. The curry was sweet and not at all what it should be. The luke warm noodles ramen is just wrong .. the noodles were so so soft and it felt like they'd been made; had flour added to keep them separate then that flour added to the broth it just tasted of soft flour strands in warmush liquid. Yeuch. , The manager was ok and took the criticism as constructive removed something from the bill ... But having even half an eye on what you're serving doesn't take much effort. Won't set foot in another one of this chain. We've had so many good meals in London - not sure this place is still there. read more

I'm a dedicated Wagamama customer. Been multiple times when I'm in London. Visited the Covent Garden location. Overall sub par. Long line up. Restaurant 2/3 full. Many open tables. Service was awful. Food this time meh! Not sure why they don't pick up the pace and get the process fixed. Vibe was all wrong. read more

There was a lineup outside of at least a dozen people when we arrived; we were promptly handed menus and ensured that it would be no more than ten minutes until we were seated - and we were. The Bang Bang Cauliflower was spicy and delicious - must have. Chicken Ramen was also fairly good, although I would absolutely give the Katsu Chicken Curry a go next time around; it looked phenomenal, and they were flying out of the kitchen like hotcakes. The Veggie Gyoza left a bit to be desired, I was hoping for a ponzu-like sauce to come with it and was a bit confused at the sweet nature of what accompanied it instead. Was looking for a good place to eat in London near Traflager square and all my yelp 4 star places had 1 hr waits. Too long so I wandered into Wagamama. Mix of Japanese and British style with the food being very Japanese. I had the noodles with beef extra spicy. It was very nice, lots of veggies, a nice flavorful broth. The beef was cooked perfectly medium rare and put into the bowl. The service was excellent, very friendly and quick. I understand its a chain but don't let that put you off. I have only given 1 star because I was unable to give a quarter star. I won't even be able to complain about the food because I left before my party could get served. We waited half an hour, asked about when we would get served and were presented with nothing but growling stomachs and disappointment. a group got seated 10 minutes after us and were served in 5 minutes (this is when we asked about our service and was given the response "My colleague will be right with you"... they were not) The toilets floor was covered in piss, I felt as if I was in Victorian England. we weren't even questioned when we left the only reason I gave a quarter star is because it was warm inside. they live up to their name as a selfish brand read more

Tried this place here in London and was not impressed at all. Food lack flavor, almost felt like they didn't cook it long enough. Broth was very unfavorable and watery. Service was good. Decor and ambiance is good so no issues there. Definitely better Ramen out there. read more

Some of the worst service I've ever had at a restaurant. Server that took our order forgot our order twice while we were ordering. Had to ask for our drinks multiple times. Our beer never even came. One member of our party has his food 10 minutes before the rest of us and it was the wrong dish. The server we called over argued with him and dint replace it. My ramen came out like warm. Couldn't even send food back because no one would come to the table. Keep in mind the restaurant was only 20% full, the service staff was standing around talking to each other. If not for the fact that it was 10pm and we were starving all of us would've just walked out. Need to fire all the staff and start over at this location. read more

I have alot to say about this place. First, it is in the basement and second, they are understaffed or perhaps selective customer service. Our waitress was nice but when the food came it was tasteless. We had the steak over noodles and shrimp. The prices were reasonable but the taste and overall service was much to be desired. We went to Wagamama on a busy Friday night, however we were seated quickly. Being gluten free, I appreciated that the gluten free menu had several options. You can also substitute any noodle dish on their menu for rice noodles if you are just trying to avoid gluten. Very very good ramen. I've eaten here quite a few times when in London and never had a bad experience. I'm just sad to say there are no Wagamama restaurants here in America that I know of. Every Wagamama I visited had friendly staff, not a bad wait time for food (if they weren't busy), and the meats in the ramen dish I ordered were always tender and delicious. Safe to say when I return to England this fall I'll be coming to eat at this place again. read more

The Nandoes of Japanese cuisine. Not exactly 5 star but delicious and cheaply priced with great selection. You know what you're getting with Wagamamas and if you want some Japanese food that isn't Sushi this is always a safe bet. read more

Pretty standard for this chain. We've had somewhat better food at other locations. Chicken was very dry in both dishes ordered. The Chili broth was quite nice if you can take spice. Noodles were not overdone, which we've experienced st other locations. The duck gyoza were not great. Service was lovely, they do train their staff well! Don't sit beside s pillar, made it awkward to negotiate chopsticks. Overall though, decent freshly made food that'll do the trick, especially on a cool or rainy day. read more
