Yummy but expensive. In total, I spent about 40 pounds on my meal plus drink. Service was quite good, you walk up to the host and she brings you to a booth or table. I sat at a table neighboring others so it was a bit awkward, I should've told her I prefer the bar. My food came out in around 15 mins. I was recommended to get the noodles and I liked it but wish it had spice or more flavor in general. Minus one star for that. Otherwise, drink was good and pretty strong. I would come back to try their appetizers and other bites next time I'm in the UK.
Before flying home, we decided to stop at Wagamama because we were craving something warm -- ramen sounded perfect! The service was smooth: they seat you, take your order, and you can pay either with your server or easily online using the QR code on the menu. I also liked that you can leave a tip directly by card. I ordered a ginger mojito, which was refreshing, while my husband had a red wine -- it was fine. We shared a grilled chicken ramen, which was fantastic -- loved the flavorful broth and great noodle texture. We also tried the chicken teriyaki with rice; it was okay but a bit plain, could use a bit more zest or sourness. It did come with a small side of kimchi. Overall, a nice and easy dining experience with plenty of seating. You share a long table with others, but there's enough space to feel comfortable. A great spot for some warm comfort food before your flight at Heathrow Airport.
If all I ordered was the Chashu Ramen, this would have been a 5-star review. Surprisingly, this was notably one of the best ramen I've had. The broth just right, not too salty and not too greasy. The noodles had a nice chew to them and were cooked just right. Most memorable were the nicely charred pork belly! It was boldly seasoned and had the perfect charred taste! I loved how the ramen came with bamboo shoots and fresh pea sprouts! The soy sauce egg was very flavorful as well. It was a beautiful bowl of ramen that tasted absolutely delicious! My eyes were hungry when I was looking at the massive menu, so I made the mistake of over-ordering. I ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower and the Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. The cauliflower was a bit too mushy, as was the Pad Thai noodles. The flavors were there, but I did not care for the texture. The restaurant was busy, but service was relatively quick. My server was friendly and took good care of me. I do not like Heathrow Airport and honestly would only consider a connection flight there only so I could eat at Wagamama again!
I'm a Wagamama fan generally so when I saw this at Terminal 5 I knew I had to go. It is standard Wagamama fare which is quite unusual for an airport restaurant. Everything was the quality you'd expect. I got the donburi rice bowl and loved it. I dare say it was some of my favorite airport food I've had after security. Service was quick and this is an excellent choice.
This was definitely a step up from your average airport cuisine. This place stays packed so give yourself plenty of time to eat. I ordered the Ramen, which was delicious and filling before my very long flight to the US. I had a beautiful view of the planes, landing and taking off and it's a very intimate setting. Though they told you the food would take 15 minutes from the time you ordered it came extremely fast and I was able to eat pay and get all my flight all within 35 minutes.
Heathrow has a lot food options but if you want something different than pub and casual dining. Then Wagamama is maybe for you. It is Asian fusion and the decor is comfortable and modern. Prices are a little more but I guess you are paying for the creativity. I haven't try everything on the menu, I need to write an update once I do. I walked by and they have a sign with a picture of their version of Asian fusion English breakfast. Looks good to me. Never had tea egg and sausage for breakfast before. Tea egg is well marinated, sausage is flavorful and not too greasy. Sweet potato is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was a good meal. While enjoying your meal, you can people watch looking down at terminal 5 lounge. After you are done, you pay on your phone.
The location is big and nice at Terminal 5 but the food definitely fell short this time. The lychee drink tasted just all right. The teppanyaki noodles were also just so-so and the bao buns with the mushrooms were bland. They have changed the menu or the taste of the dishes so we didn't enjoy them as much as earlier. Seating in the main area is very uncomfortable unless you pick a proper table.
What better place to dine between flights as we were thankful that this was located at Heathrow. Eggs benedict- Spinach & shredded duck made this a perfect breakfast as the juicy richness of the duck paired with the silky hollandaise sauce a top a chinese pancake was enough for the morning flight. Vegan Katsu curry- stopped by again for the return flight and the Katsu curry was not short on flavor or portion size. You would not realize that the "chicken" was vegan. Salmon Gyoza- Original and have innovative to upscale a gyoza with tender salmon. Duck Donburi- a must have as the tender pieces of roast duck a top a bowl of rice accompanied with shredded veggies was great ending to the trip. Great service and attentive staff for an airport that constantly has guest coming though with no break in between services.
At the airport waiting on a flight home and saw this place. Wait was about 10 minutes. I didn't get a chance to take a ton of pictures but kids had small ramens, they were good but could use a bit more flavor. I had the pad Thai ... it was yummy. Husband had a spicy curry. Super spicy but was the favorite. We had some cool delicious drinks. Overall the ambiance was super cool, staff friendly and food was good. Considering it was airport food, it was a hit
I'm usually very critical of anything airport food related, but my first layover in Europe prompted me to write this. On our way to Lisbon, Portugal, the misses and I had a layover in Heathrow. Hungry and exhausted, I scoured the options in T5 as we awaited the announcement of our gate to Lisbon. I stopped by Giraffe for a smoothie first, which was beyond disappointing to say the least. There was a line at Wagamama but the two of us were quickly seated and given great seats with ample room for our bags and a great view. The restaurant is very modern and open with a fantastic looking bar and basic Japanese beers on tap. Everyone was working hard on the floor and in the kitchen. Our waiter Venky greeted us and my lady ordered the ramen she wanted (pork belly ramen), and we got some drinks (the Hifive and I got their new matcha+strawberry latte) which both hit the spot. It was nice to see some non alcoholic healthy options. The ginger chicken udon was bomb and refreshing (if you like lots of onions and ginger, which I do) and the ramen was good from what I tried and the misses loved it; both came out in a timely manner and I was really surprised. Also: highly recommend the mushroom Bao! Overall, I soon forgot I was eating in an airport and that, for me, speaks volumes and is hard to do from my often judgmental perspective. I already can't wait to stop by here again next time I have a layover in Heathrow, or just decide to visit London in general. Thanks y'all for a great experience!

Early breakfast at Terminal 5 @ Heathrow airport while waiting for my gonecting flight. Very prompt service but the guy who came to take my order sat at my table in frOnt of me to enter my order into a handheld device, obviously without even asking me if it would be ok. I found it rather strange and perhaps inappropriate for a restaurant . There was a single male customer at the next table, the same waiter took his order standing by the table. I ordered a full English breakfast that arrived promptly. However, I explicitly asked for the coffee to served together with the food. The coffee came first, the food 10 min later. By then coffee was cold. I was looking forward for the toast with hot coffee. Didn't happen. I think the food was ok ( 4 stars) but the experience was not. Next time I am at Heathrow, I will try something else read more

Food: Grilled Duck Ramen, Shirodashi Ramen Relatively quick bite for a good meal! Stopped by here before a flight and grabbed some ramen. There's a good variety of food and the presentation is good as well, but it's just okay food. The noodles in particular didn't fit the dish well, and the broth was watery and didn't have much flavor. read more

Well, I've been meaning to visit a Wagamama since long before I moved to London, but I wouldn't have guessed my first time there would be at an airport on my way out of the country... There's no accounting for the horrific service (if it could be called that... when you basically have to flag down any employee you can possibly get your hands on in order to put in an order or obtain your bill). But the space is nice enough and the food's just fine. And whoever came up with the idea for okonomiyaki for breakfast should be lauded with praise. I wasn't about to have a noodle soup right before a flight, but I needed some sort of sustenance, and a savoury pancake was right up my alley. I can't vouch for its authenticity, but when you douse a floury fried thing with enough sauces and scallions, it's bound to taste okay, right? This isn't the appropriate venue to visit if you have a tight timeline and need to get to your flight. You'll never make it. Better off hitting the Eat around the corner. If you have plenty of time to blow and don't mind a bit of exasperated sighing on your part, by all means... Wagamama is the way for you! read more
We came here for breakfast, right before boarding a long-haul flight back to the USA. We knew airlines tend to feed you well even in economy class, so we were more curious than hungry when we saw a large noodle bar in Heathrow! Wagamama serves both breakfast and noodles in the morning. We ordered the Wagamama Ramen and shared a blueberry-ginger juice. Green tea (which was flavorless) was free - even the menu listed the exact price of "free." Ramen broth was light and didn't have much richness, while noodles were white, rice noodles that don't seem to be the proper type. On the plus side, the many ramen components (mussels, squid, shrimp, egg, BBQ chicken, pork) were superb - retaining great flavor and juicy. Blueberry juice was OK, though the ginger flavor was much stronger than the blueberry. Pretty good service and nice place to eat. Just don't expect authentic Japanese Ramen and you'll have a decent meal. read more
We stopped by as a big group during a layover. Service is quick. But. Staff leaves a lot of be desired. They seem disgruntled and generally displeased to service anyone. But the food is good. Can't complain about that. The chili sirloin steak ramen is what I had. It was more like a Thai inspired Ramen. I also tried the pork belly Ramen. Have a stop by but bring your patience. read more
I was pleased that there's a Wagamama at the Heathrow Airport! We had English food throughout our trip in London and I was craving Asian food, so we decided to eat here before our flight. I ordered the yaki soba while my partner ordered the full English breakfast (he's addicted to that at this point). The yaki soba was definitely a refresher from days of the same type of food. It was pretty good considering my typical experiences of airport food, but it was not something memorable as the last meal of our trip. My partner seemed to enjoy his English breakfast a lot though. Our service was okay. I think our server was a bit impatient with us at one point when we asked for recommendations, but other than that it was fine. This place did accept U.S. dollars when we were there, so you can choose to pay with those. read more

Long story short: Unique atmosphere, food is decent enough (ask for spice), free green tea, very quick turnaround time but the fast pace equates to not that great of service. I really enjoyed the open concept of the restaurant and the great view over Terminal 5. It made for fun people watching, and the planes rolling by made it feel very grand. We started with the vegetable gyoza which was very quick to come out. They come in an order of 5 and they will do the trick if you are craving gyoza. We decided to share the duck ramen, which was tricky to split as it is ramen (face-palm!). I second the other reviews that talk about the broth being somewhat bland. I ordered a side of the chile sauce though and that spiced it up. Overall, the food was decent, and if you are wanting something with an Asian flair I think it's worth it. I do have to knock them a bit for their service. I got the impression that the goal of the staff is to get you in and out as quick as possible. And I get it. We are in an airport and people want to make their flights. BUT the service was so rushed they make little to no eye contact, drop off the food, and then quickly walk away. It made it a bit annoying trying to get their attention to ask for another bowl, or a side item, or a refill. It did put a damper on the experience. read more

Flight was delayed so gave this place a try. Tried chicken katsu curry and it was delicious!! I've lived in Japan for a few years and they pretty much nailed the flavors and the presentation was beautiful. I would definitely come back and try a couple more things on the menu. read more

If a British-Asian franchise restaurant has both pad thai and ramen on the menu, chances are they don't do either particularly well. I decided to stick to the "British fare." I ordered the Kedgeree, which is sort of an Indian-inspired dish of rice and smoked haddock in a curry sauce. This came with a poached egg. To my surprise, I really enjoyed it. They used a Japanese curry sauce to flavor the rice, so it almost felt like a Japanese curry risotto with flaky pieces of fish in it. The haddock was even a bit crispy and caramelized. Everything was brought together with the poached egg. If I find myself in the Heathrow airport, I'll come again. But I'm still not going to order the ramen. That's like voting for Donald Trump with the misguided belief that he's not going to fuck you over. read more

First time in London. I had a choice between this place and Gordon Ramsay, of course I went with Ramon. Food details are mentioned under each pic. The best thing this place has is their customer service. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

Amazing service, amazing food! We were greeted before entering the restaurant and promptly seated. The venue is beautiful and has loads of natural sunlight so that all the food looks beautiful. The menus also have pictures of some of the meals they offer so you have an idea of what you're getting and it's really helpful! The food is very light as well and all extremely aesthetically pleasing while still being delicious! Came here 3 years ago and just visited again today and I'm glad to say that I couldn't have made a better choice! read more

I was honestly very impressed with the selection of places to eat at Heathrow. We landed on this after making our way around. The menu sounded enticing and after a week of fish and chips Asian fusion sounded great. I had the wagamama ramen which came with chicken, pork, mussels, shrimp, and some kind of fish ball. The broth was light and delicious. The noodles were a little too aldente for me but not too bad. The chicken was a little dry as well but the pork and shrimp were delicious. I would opt for a pork ramen in the future. I also got a side of veggies which was delicious. I have regrets of not trying their locations throughout London. Next time ... read more

I first discovered Wagamama in New England where I frequented their Cambridge location. I, like many people, equate familiarity with comfort and comfort with good (or at least good enough); sitting down to a leisurely meal at LHR's Wagamama with my favorite person was a much needed creature comfort as I left one of my favorite places & had a grueling 10-hour flight ahead of me. So why a measly 3 stars? Service was sorely lacking; after waiting so long for water refills & extra gyoza sauce, we weren't sure if we'd ever get our requested items. Also, my order of chicken + prawn cha han donburi was a disappointment -- mushy & without much flavor (the extra gyoza sauce helped give it some zest.) The "sides" he ordered were great; fried prawn gyoza, lollipop prawn kushiyaki, & ribs (didn't try, but he enjoyed them) saved the meal. We ordered a pineapple coconut smoothie & you could smell the sweet, tropical scent before you tasted it -- lovely!! Wagamama isn't amazing & it isn't authentic, but the bench seating, your waitress scribbling on your menu, the somewhat random menu items, & in general, being able to get an alright meal -- all that is familiar to me & that's good enough. read more

This was my first time trying Japanese so I can't say that I have had the best of the best. I decided to go with the Omakase steak bulgogi which is basically marinated steak and miso-fried aubergine served on a bed of soba noodles, dressed in a sesame and bulgogi sauce. finished with spring onions, kimchee and half a tea-stained egg. If you enjoy steak this is the way to go trust me you will not be disappointed read more

I must be in a grouchy mood because I decided to round down to 3 from 3.5. That or I have unexpectedly become a ramen snob :( Came here yesterday when the bf and I had a short layover at Heathrow before our flight back to the U.S.. We were promptly seated in this ginormous restaurant. After our 10 day travel in Central/Eastern Europe we were starving for some noodles and ordered a ramen entree each (he went for the Shirodashi and I chose the eponymous option) as well as the chili squid for side dish. Food was brought out in a timely manner. I'm just sad that the broth wasn't rich or flavorful enough. Not sure it was the doing of chicken broth--since I'm used to pork broths--regardless, it simply was too bland. Shirodashi was much better but I found the noodles to be too smushy and def in need of some chewiness. Otherwise service was attentive and although pricing was on the expensive side this was expected given we're at an airport. read more

I had high hopes for this joint as it opened up a shop in NY recently. I decided to try Heathrow airport one. Ordered Sirloin steak ramen. Broth was lukewarm. Noodles were overcooked. Unacceptable in any standard for ramen. It came at 13.5 + Tax (GBP). It was $19.53 USD read more
Got here for late breakfast early lunch and it was a wonderful fresh meal, not heavy for a flight over the pond! Lots of dining space and didn't have to wait at all to be seated. Service was friendly and efficient, which is pretty important in an airport. Can't wait to return here read more

The place is nice, service is quick, and the staff are friendly; however, it was the most unimpressive ramen ever. It barely had any flavor, and the broth tasted so bland. It was worse than instant noodle/ramens that you can get in any markets. I won't recommend this place unless they seriously improve the quality and flavor of the food. read more

It's one of my favourite restaurant in Heathrow airport. It's asian fusion but in a more healthier version. I ordered ebi katsu (tempura prawn) and chilli ramen with steak sirloin. I was quite disappointed with ebi katsu. ...They did not use tiger prawns....its like those smaller type of prawns. Chilli ramen broth was nice. I would prefer them to slice the steak a bit smaller because it's not easy to bit it off. The steak is a bit more well done than medium rare on the menu. read more

This is a safe bet for a set of food suitable for diverse palettes. Their strength really lies in donburi and maybe Chef's specials. The noodle broth is just too light for me, but the rice bowels of duck and chicken we tried today were delicious. The vegetable side dish of bok choy and broccoli were very small, but the flavor hit the spot. read more

Try the okonomiyaki, a Japanese inspired omelette made with bacon, chicken, prawns, shiitake mushrooms, red cabbage and leek. With traditional Japanese sauces and garnish. The breakfast item is awesome, and really come alive. You'll know what I mean when you see it - funny. Nice and flavourful. Great service, especially as it's still relatively early. A costume was complaning about there wasn't any sausage in/with his dish. He was politely told the the dish didn't come with sausage, and shown a menu. Also, free green tea. read more
I used to think that Terminal 5 had a really good selection of places to eat, but on this visit I really struggled. I had a quick look at Plane Food by Gordon Ramsay and was instantly put off by the £1.50 cover charge per person. So I ended up here at Wagamama, formerly one of my favourite restaurants before I discovered better Japanese options in Glasgow. I was seated quickly in a booth overlooking the planes taking off which was very nice, but I was here to eat and get work done. I ordered my chicken teriyaki donburi and some edamame, as well as an apple juice and got to work. My food arrived quickly and I wolfed it down as quick as possible. Everything was good but nothing was outstanding - the edamame were a generous sized portion but for £4.15 you'd want a generous portion! The same comment goes for the donburi - at over £9 for a bowl of rice with some chicken, they could have laid on more chicken but at least it was fresh and tasty. I was pretty close to finishing my meal when found out that my flight back to Glasgow was cancelled. Cue mad panic and freaking out. British Airways told me on the phone that I needed to go to talk to someone at a counter to get on another flight, and indicated it was possible the next available flight was the following day. ARGH! So I tried to leave Wagamama but due to the staff ignoring me as I stood near the entrance, I was delayed by a good 5 minutes. No one wanted to take my money. Seriously, I should have just left but I was worried about getting hunted down. Finally I managed to explain to someone that I was in a bit of a hurry and would they please take my money. When I realised the bill was nearly £18 I was even more miffed. The food was fine, most of the service was fine but please don't hold up passengers who are visibly freaking out about having another night down in London! read more
All my memories of visits to wagamama's in the past have been good ones. Yes it's a chain and yes there are probably more authentic places, but I would always have argued that it does what it says on the tin. Nice food, interesting options, reasonable prices and you get to eat it in nice surroundings. My most recent visit has changed my mind though and I think it is because I have now tried lots of better places doing the same type of food. Don't get me wrong it still has decent prices and is a nice place to have a meal, but my last meal was exceptionally bland. I had the chicken katsu curry and it was very basic in terms of taste profile. It lacked any spice or kick. It was sad to taste a once favourite meal of mine and be pretty disappointed. Everything else was fine, service was fast and efficient. The staff were really friendly and checked how much time I had until my flight. read more
