We never got to try the food...because the service was so slow.....!
We had an hour to grab a quick bite between flights so Wagamama seemed to fit the bill for our appetites.
We lined up outside the restaurant and were given the menu, we were asked...'How hungry are you'? It seems this is the company mantra as we were asked three times before we ordered. Not so subtle subliminal messaging.
The person who took us to our table asked us where we were from, I answered and then asked her the same question...she was even less interested than I was with my reply. Does anyone care where you're from...in an airport of all places?
Anyway, we sat down only to be asked one more time...'Are you hungry? F no! Thats why we came to a restaurant in an airport!!! The waiter took our order and we waited....and waited. People at another tables who arrived after us managed to get their orders with the same waiter in five to eight mins. After 15 mins a different waiter comes by with my beer and a glass and plonks them down on the table, but forgot to bring a glass of water we also ordered.
More time goes by, the same waiter takes an order from some folks directly to our left, I ask him if our food is coming and he assures us that it is....more time goes by. The folks on the table who came in after us have eaten/paid their bill and are getting ready to leave.
Another person sat down to our right and ordered...at this point I'm making a mental note of leaving zero tip(something I RARELY ever do) and wait to see what happens and yep, you guessed it....the new diners food arrives in five mins.
I ask the waiter whats up and he scurries off, he's clearly F'd the order up and we have ten mins to make it to the gate...foodless. The manager comes over puts her foot on the bench we are sitting at and leans in to apologize and says its not the waiters fault(as if I give a toss who's fault it is) and offers the food for free if we can wait. We can't, we have to get on the plane and really...how the hell are you supposed to make it through security with a bowl of noodles?
She gave the beer for free but I'd rather have just had the food and paid. We left hungry. read more
