stephanie was our server and she was TERRIBLE. We came in w a group of 7 and we were going to have 4 in one booth with a chair pulled up to the end, however, she came up and told us we can't have the chair there. Understandable, so we put the chair back and had 4 and 3 in two booths. As we ordered she complained to a member of our group that he 'didn't order enough to have caused such a fuss with the chairs' even after we made no complaint and put the chair back no issues. Her actions which took away from what should have been a simple meal, Made me feel unsafe and threatened when i just wanted a waffle. I understand everyone can have a bad day, but this experience fell well below the level of service I expect. food was good server was not. spilled my drink and cleaned it up, then asked for a new water. waiter came back to our table 3 times before asking if I "actually wanted another water". she grabbed my straw off the table and put it in the cup, then had her fingers all over the part where I drink from. she was very rude and complained abt one of our friends not tipping when they only ordered chocolate milk. I love waffle house and I don't want to love it. From the outside it looks sus and worn down a bit, like a well loved item-which I guess it is. You go inside and it's no frills. Get in where you fit in and a waitress/waiter will be with ya in a sec. So you chill and the floor and menu might be a bit sticky but you stay and your served a delicious warm buttery waffle and some subpar tasting coffee that perks you right up. It's cheap too and then you leave feeling confused about the whole experience but you know you'll be back. read more

A big thank you for the great job the team at Waffle House is doing during the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. I was working storm duty supporting Duke Power and looking for a hot meal and the only place that was open was the Waffle House. You must of put one of your Jump teams in place as I was impressed that there were nine people behind the counter and another one or two employees making sure people were seated and orders taken and served promptly! Everyone had such a positive attitude as they ramped up from two menu items to eight on our second visit. Hot food served up fresh, tastes so good when your sleeping in your car and working long hours. They definitely made a difference for those they serve. I really loved the coffee to go too! The only reason I didn't give one star was because the waiter (shawn maybe? harry potter name tag), was SUPER sweet and very apologetic about it. i got an egg plate with toast, after eating an entire slice, i took one bite of the second piece before noticing it was covered in mold. i have no idea if the first piece had any but i was beyond disgusted and didn't eat another bite of anything. the waiter apologized over and over, comped my meal, and made sure there wasn't anything he could get me as a replacement. it was blamed on the bread company but come on, that's a lot of green to overlook. definitely won't be back to that location. but thank you shawn (?) for being so nice about everything! read more

I love Waffle House! Like who doesn't like Waffle House? This one is really good. Good staff good food the only thing that wasn't up to par or 5 stars was my grandmother asked for sausage and got two rock hard patties. You could hear it clank the plate. But gave us two more and they were better. I always get the hash browns smothered, covered and topped and they never disappoint. It's just good food and they do drop by and keep your soda or coffee or tea whatever you have filled up. My grandmother says they have the best coffee in town. We started hitting up Waffle House again and all locations have the same menu but completely different taste. This location hit it well with our family. I had the Grand Slam, wife had the Texas sausage and egg sandwich and my daughter had two eggs with toast. Service was fast and waitress was attentive. Overall the quality of food was exceptional and service was fantastic. Eggs came out perfect, grits were perfect, bacon was not over done and pancake was right on. I recommend this location but as I said before the menu might be the same but the way it's cooked can be completely different. read more

It was like walking into a scene from the 60s...local people ALL charming. The ladies greeted us with true hospitality. Miss Nancy was the sweetest woman and she made us feel extremely welcome. Was as if mom was fixing our breakfast. The hashbrowns were perfect, as was my over easy egg. I tried the jalopino biscuit...it was amazing! The staff is very rude, the tables are all sticky, they also took forever to prepare my order and then to top it all off they wrote in a $12 tip on the credit card recept without my authorization. I went back there the next day to confront them about it and they all denied it. So I asked to speak to the manager. Of course the manager wasn't there. Come to find out the manager is only there from 7am to 2pm. So there's only a manager there for 7 hours a day. So I went back there again the next day around noon to talk to the manager and of course they weren't there again. One of employees said she was at lunch and wouldn't return for another hour. It must be nice to only work at 7 hour shift and get a one-hour lunch. Well I wasn't going to wait around there for another hour. So I never got my $12 tip back and I haven't been back there since. The food was awful. Got the grand slam. My eggs were undercooked, bacon was burnt and super thin, hash browns had a funky taste like they were cooked on an unclean grill. The waffle was even worse. I can definitely say I won't be back here again unless I'm wasted at 3 am and too drunk care about the taste of my food or the service. On top of that, we got 2 grand slams and 2 drinks and the total was $20. There are a million other places in Wilmington you can spend around $20 on 2 people and have a much better experience. read more
