I had a very disappointing experience at Waffle House recently, and I feel it's important to share. My family and I went in for breakfast, and right from the start, things went poorly. We chose a table that was clearly still dirty. A male employee kindly came over to clean it, but then a woman (the one pictured) told him not to worry because she had already cleaned it--which clearly wasn't true. Unfortunately, she ended up being our server. She never introduced herself or greeted us properly. Instead of a simple "Hi, how are you?" or offering to take our drink order, she just walked up with her notepad and said, "Do you guys need more time?" in a rude tone. There was no warmth or professionalism in her attitude. When we gave her our drink orders and politely said "thank you," she didn't acknowledge it or say a word. She returned later for our food order with the same cold attitude and continued to be short and dismissive throughout the meal. What made it worse was that we watched her be friendly and polite to other tables--introducing herself, smiling, offering refills, and saying "you're welcome." It was clear we were being treated differently, and I have no idea why. Because of the poor service and lack of basic courtesy, I didn't leave a tip. I truly don't believe it was deserved. We won't be returning to this location.

Server/cook was inviting, which was followed up with a bit of cold dialogue. After a small interaction regarding the menu she began to brighten up, and offered my niece a free waffle. The temperature was set to ice box , but when we looked at the forecast it's going to be 90 degrees later, so I understand. The food was delicious and we ate all of our meals. Thanks so much for a great diner experience. At your establishment.

We love Waffle House, all three of us ate for under $13 dollars. The food is always great and the waiters are always friendly.

    Yup!

While sounding heavy, was met with a light with a fresh pico de gallo and a well crafted crispy but fluffy hash brown. The dish is very well crafted by the restaurant and is a must have if you're in the area. I'd put this omelette in my top egg dishes to get. Very pleased! -biscuits and gravy 5/5 -drop biscuit.... That's all that needs to be said. Pockets of crispy, flaky, fluffy, and just delicious bread that's paired with a rich and creamy gravy. (Only available on the weekends) Simple and just an amazing experience. From the service to the food. I'd go out of my way visit this restaurant and you should too!

The diner has that Nashville country vibe with photos and music from the biggest country stars. Fortunately the food was in line with the level of service and ambience. I was able to watch my meal prepared with lighting speed and perfection. I was happy to have a true southern biscuit with my sausage, eggs and has browns which were incredibly good. Actually it was all very delicious. So glad I asked the valet where to get a great breakfast and even more glad that he was right!

The place is relatively small with stools around 3 main counter areas. There are a few tables in the back, but the fun is at the counter. All of the food is prepared on the grill behind the counters. We sat on stools in the middle section and our server was awesome! The ambiance is great and the decor with records on the wall is very cool. The food here though was fantastic! I ordered the blueberry banana pancakes and my wife had an omelette. The pancakes were loaded with blueberries and were delicious! I really loved the interaction with our server and other customers. There's just such a friendly vibe here. We'll be back to Nashville in a couple of months with friends and we can't wait to take them here!

When I scanned the reviews of potential local restaurants I wanted to visit for breakfast, I was…read moresurprised to find my name already on the Half Way listing. Then....I saw that my review was a decade ago! (That was back when it was a little farther out of town and in a smaller place. So, I came back, anew, to enjoy again. Hands down, this is a friendly establishment with a staff that is welcoming, polite, helpful...and ready to serve you. The interior is open and sports a nostalgic look with large tables accompanied by old (but sturdy) mismatched, carved-high back chairs. Yes, you can sit by yourself, but if it's busy....scoot over and invite a new friend to join you. Most tables seat 6 or 8 -- more "communal" style in a sense. Step up to the counter and order from the solid, albeit mundane, menu: eggs to order, meat side, potatoes, biscuit & toast...gravy if you like. They'll bring it to your table. Nothing fancy. My wife's eggs were scrambled, but not fluffy....rather flat like an unfilled omelet. My over easy eggs were close to perfection and oozed a rich yolk sauce on my deep fried potato cake. Yes, I would have preferred authentic hash browns or "home fries". But this worked for the occasion. Biscuits were buttery and tender. Coffee - average. Sausage patty appeared to be cut from a commercial roll - fried well and tasty. My wife's bacon was absolutely to her liking (hard to get right sometimes). But her's was spot on: very crisp, not burned. Lots of grab and go sandwiches for sale....check out other reviews and photos. Before you leave, pick up a couple of fried pies. (Ten yeara ago I had the peach - yummy. This timr we took home both apple and cherry. Slightly - not overly sweet fillings and a great afternoon treat. Dough was slightly different this visit. (You can see that in my pics...if Yelp still has them available.) As for the "Market" aspect of the name....that is a bit of a mystery - not a lot of market goods were readily visible. Oh!...be careful parking. The unmarked "street side" parking is tight and cars can come barreling down Hill Street. There is apparently more parking on the back side (towards downtown area). All-in-all the vibe was a bit like my Grandma's Country Store (1940-50s) a place where I was born and raised...friendly, comforting, congenial. And, a return for lunch is in order - the menu sounds inviting ... I hope another 10 years doesn't pass before I make it back for that. PS: very clean restrooms available too.
