I go to Waffle House all the time all across the country and this is not a good example. Service is lacking.

Henderson's Restaurant - Cheeseburger and fries

Henderson's restaurant is located on Smith Avenue in Thomasville, Georgia. It is not far from the…read moredowntown shopping area. Parking is plentiful and the restaurant has a homestyle feel that makes you feel it's been there for decades. The menu is large, but not so large that it takes more than a single sheet of paper. Henderson's offers breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner. They're open from 6 am - 7:30 pm, and are closed on Sunday, as is most of Thomasville. The breakfast offerings include sandwiches, breakfast in a cup and plated meals. The prices range from $3 - 7, with a few higher priced offerings that include steak. Lunch and dinner options include burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, chicken tenders, quesadillas and wings. Most options range between $5 - 8, with a few options up to $16. Henderson's is very budget friendly. Service is pleasant and swift. The dining area is fairly a no-frills interior including long tables, stackable type padded chairs and pastel-colored beadboard walls decorated with some large Grateful Dead framed posters. We ordered a burger and a Philly style Cheesesteak. You order at the counter and they call you when your meal is ready to be picked up. Both were served with crinkle cut fries. The food was fast and filling. I preferred the Philly style Cheesesteak, which was juicy and deliicous! The burger bun was a little dried out. The fries were crispy and hot. If you want a budget meal, you cannot beat Henderson's! Next time, we plan to try a couple breakfast options.

Liam's, a place so nice we ate there twice. We were on a shopping trip in Thomasville and stopped…read morein for an early dinner. Brian, our server, is also a certified sommelier, and his wine suggestions to accompany The Whole Shebang were spot on. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back the next Friday with friends. The ambiance is straight out of Europe, and it was decorated beautifully for the holidays.

This is t the same Liam's I enjoyed years ago. I'd been hearing this from others for some time, and…read morewhile our visits have been mixed, we stayed true and kept coming. Last night we came to celebrate my son's birthday. We were seated promptly for our reservation. Service was great with our server telling us if the specials (the daily blue and the yellowtail collars they had as an appetizer). We ordered a round of drinks for the table. All was going well. The smoked fish dip was good - a solid performer. We especially liked the pickled veg that came along side it. Our mains consisted of the daily blue, two had the new chicken sandwich, and I ordered the duroc aged pork chop. Liam's is fancy now, with mains not coming with sides. This certainly cranked up the bill. I had the pork chop, which was really small despite the declared weight and the price of $45. The taste was good, but didn't really impress me. The daily blue had skin that was charred, but the fish part was good. My daughter wasn't impressed with that. The chicken sandwiches, however, were a hit. Go figure. All but the daily blue ordered a side dish. Two had the mashed potatoes, which were good, I ordered the side with stringy cheese, prosciutto, peaches, and sliced peppers. No flavor. I get the bill and there is a $9.40-something charge in there for a "non-cash transaction". Also, my two drinks were charged a dollar more than the menu price. With everything there at a premium price (a larger and much better pork chop can be had at St James for more than $10 less - with sides!), everything is a la carte, and a silly charge for not having cash means I'm done with Liam's. The place where I discovered my first and favorite scotch, a love for unique cheeses, and great cooking techniques has been outdone by at least one local competitor while increasing prices and serving less. It's a shame, but they never seem to be full, so instead of improving value and delivery, they've gone to increasing prices.
