We were able to get right in with a group of 6. Clean. Very friendly staff. Food was great and it came out quick. I had the All-star breakfast. Perfect! Great experience. This place is a well-oiled machine.

Food took 15 minutes to come out, it was hot and "order accurate." All Star special breakfast was cooked right including the waffle. Side order of Sausage and Biscuits wasn't really good, didn't eat most of it. I only had water which was good. The price was great and I did leave a tip. The main issue here was cleanliness for me. Service and food was good.

Something greasy all over the butter that was sat in the middle of my waffle. It was on all sides

We love Waffle House and eat at them all over the southern US. However this Waffle House you could slice the tension with a knife... I walked in a the manager made a place at the counter for us. Just as I was about to sit down an AM woman butted up against me and and pushed her way in front of me to pick up a bag that the manager had sat down over in front of another chair. Idk what that was all about but the manager profusely apologized to her. Anyways I blew it off and stood back till she walked to the door. There was a definite stench in the air... not sure what that was either? The manager stood behind us as we ate at the counter and directed traffic and watched over the employees. I was getting ready to order when I saw the cook take off his hat and wipe the sweat of his brow with his forearm and from that point on decided on a waffle since the sweat dripping off the cook made me not want to eat anything he made. So I only ordered a waffle since the waitresses make their own for their tables. When the food was ready Our waitress (who was nice) delivered my Waffle with a small container of butter sitting directly in the middle of my waffle. The small container of butter had someone's fingerprints (made out of food? Butter? Grease? Idk? all over the outside of the little tub that was sitting on my Waffle!!! Gross!! Overall a very unpleasant experience.

I stopped by this location close to midnight. The staff was very friendly

We enjoyed brunch so much we came back for dinner the same day! The menu items include both traditional and creative thoughtfully prepared offerings that are delicious and attracted plated. The decor is classy and modern with the addition of a very nice bar and sport spectator area. For brunch I had the half fried chicken which includes 4 pieces separately fried. I had collard greens which were fresh but just okay flavor wise, but I really enjoyed the roasted carrots! My aunt had a pork chop sandwich which came with delicious home fries! My uncle had fried fish and grits with scrambled eggs and biscuit. The seasoning and crust on the fried items was perfect! When we returned for dinner, we enjoyed the unique appetizer....boiled peanut and neckbone boil. I enjoyed the vegan black eyed pea soup. It was classic comfort food, I had the chef add in some collards and it was delicious! Also enjoyed the BBQ shrimp even though I was expecting it to be a little more wet. I did not get to taste the gumbo or the smothered fried shrimp and grits but I saw some clean plates-lol. The staff is super friendly and attentive and it's very clean. Looking forward to our next visit!

Staff was kind and friendly. Patient with any questions. Started with the black bean cakes. They were a great portion and so delicious. Then shared a salad and a fish entree over jambalaya rice. Both were so delicious and fresh. The fish was so tender and juicy. The dressing on the salad was also delicious. Didn't have room for dessert but really enjoyed dinner here. Ambiance was nice and chill. Enjoyed their dog paintings on the wall. Can't wait to come back here in the future!

Of late we have had some success getting here during their lunch hours which has reminded me of just how good they are. The menu changes some pretty regularly so there are new ideas to try over time. There also are dishes that have stood the test of time that will always be present. The rainbow trout is one of those and you will never go wrong ordering that. Always delicious. Otherwise have at the several choices that may appeal to your taste. I doubt that you won't like it. The location is a converted mini market. I am remembering that the first restaurant conversion was a classic diner that was good for breakfast but Kool Beanz has been here for a long time and thriving. Some of the best seats in the house can actually be on a stool at the counter watching the chefs ply their trade. There's an additional large dining room at the end of the building and they have created a nice outdoor space as well. What may be hard to come by when they are busy is a parking space. Service has always been friendly and attentive. Prices are reasonable considering the creativity that is involved. You will pay more at dinner which is why we love to catch them at lunch.

Adams Street is a quiet street on this particular Saturday morning around 9:15 am. But inside the restaurant, there is a flurry of activity behind the counter, the aroma of breakfast makes us smile when we enter and there is a line that stretches to the door. Folks are waiting. Few dine in and most are carrying out several to go boxes per person. The prices are reasonable and for the portion size, I would say budget-minded. Get the Olean's omelette. It's generously sized and enough for 3 meals. It looks nothing like a traditional omelette. It reads more like a breakfast casserole. Eggs, potatoes, sausage, veggies and cheese. It's comfort food on a plate. I am so sorry I didn't take a photo to share. I highly recommend this meal option! My dining companion ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and plain grits. My dining companion stated they were the best restaurant grits they'd ever eaten. The bacon was piled high on his plate! He took 1/2 this meal home. Mrs. Olean is behind the counter and just as personable as can be. She sets the tone for hospitality and it shows with her courteous staff. There was ample parking. The dining room is small, probably 10 tables in all. Most seem to be taking bags with their to go containers. Few people leave with one container. We will certainly return for some of their lunch options next.
