Eggs, biscuits, hash brown casserole, sausage patties, all hot and filling and exactly the kind of road fuel you want, served with that easy southern hospitality that Cracker Barrel somehow gets right every time. We're big fans of CB, and while we're always looking for a place to park overnight, we're just as eager to sit down to a great meal when morning comes around. The variety of fillings includes mushrooms and Swiss; boudin; BBQ brisket; and even macaroni and cheese. These are a great choice, but one can also get a plain old fashioned hamburger or cheeseburger with toppings outside of the patty if one wishes. There are a choice of breads for these, so if you want it on Texas Toast or a Jalapeno Bun, it's all good! Then you need a side. There are of course fries and onion rings, but also tater tots and sweet potato fries. If you have any room left they have a pretty nice selection of ice cream and frozen treats. This location is just north of I-10, so it's convenient to stop into for a quick lunch. If one is so inclined, you could get an order to go, and enjoy a picnic at the nearby Maplewood Park.
