Simple breakfast. Eggs scrambled with cheese. Cheese grits and toast. Everything was good. Fast and efficient. Normal Waffle House activities lol.

It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. This location appears to be getting their parking lot repaved, but they are open Service is friendly and they are close to several area hotels. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try.

It is a…read morelittle set back off of the main road, however the bright yellow neon sign will draw your attention. There are several hotels surrounding this particular Waffle House, including a Super 8 located immediately next door, so I am sure they get a lot of business from these hotels. However, with Waffle House, I am sure that the locals enjoy it, as well. Waffle House has become an iconic part of the southeastern United States landscape. It has been a go-to place for road-weary travelers, families, late night revelers and the rest of the assorted parade that we call humanity. There is nothing fancy about a Waffle House. In fact, if you look up the definition of greasy spoon in the dictionary, they will probably be an accompanying picture of a Waffle House. But breakfast maybe should not be fancy. It should be about sitting at a counter in a humble restaurant and filling yourself up with eggs and other breakfast staples to start your day My number-one go to in this restaurant has always been the patty melt. Probably the second most common order that I have ordered is one of their egg breakfasts. Strangely enough, I have never had a waffle at a restaurant where the word "waffle" is in the very name of the business. I just prefer savory breakfasts to sweet breakfasts. One of my favorite things about the waffle house though is their hash browns. These potatoes are probably ultimately the number-one reason that I go to a Waffle House. The potatoes develop a nice crust cooked on the flat top and you can get them topped with a variety of items such as chili, onions, cheese, ham and a slew of other items. I would definitely recommend a visit to this location. Again, if you are traveling along Interstate 20, it is just off of the highway next to the Exxon gas station. The service is friendly and fast and you can be back on the highway in little to no time at all. If you are a local, come on, now oh, you know you love Waffle House. Go there and check them out and don't forget to get yourself some of those hash browns. I give it four stars.

My friend loves the classic New York style. I've also had KingCake here! It was so good and fresh. I'm typically picky about King Cake, but I definitely recommend. They also have cookies, muffins, scones, and more. Food - Breakfast OMG! So many choices - Biscuits & gravy, omlettes, low carb bowls with plenty of protein and veggies, avocado toast, breakfast burrito, etc. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong. Atmosphere - It's chill depending on when you come. Just know the weekends are super busy, so make sure you get there early. You can post inside the cafe, on the patio, or in tables throughout Banner Hall which houses Lumeria book store and some other boutique shops. Prices on food are reasonable. One slice of cheesecake is a little pricey, but it's a large slice and honestly worth it. Overall, this is my favorite place to get breakfast in Jackson!

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.
