I ordered the All Star and let me tell you it's got plenty for you to fill up with if you plan to have a long drive ahead. Nothing and I mean nothing says "La Porte Waffle House" by listening to one of the waitresses cuss out the cooks for forgetting her side of grits. Not gonna lie - I thought we were about to witness a fight and have to dart between dishes and flying pieces of sizzling bacon. It wasn't like I'm surprised - this is Waffle House but wow, just live up to those stereotypes. Food was your typical fare. It's very difficult to screw up scrambled eggs and wheat toast but the place was an absolute pig-sty despite the 9 and yes, I really mean 9 employees standing around scratching their butts. Our waitress was a surly woman with a bad attitude who put her armpit in my face more times that I'd like to admit. Standard WaHo, I ate here for a few breakfasts while doing work in La Porte. The food was fine, standard diner fare. My breakfasts were around 6:30am, and there was plenty of room, service was prompt. As far as a breakfast bite goes, this is probably one of your best choices for the area. read more

We went there at 2:40 pm and there were only 4 ppl in there eating. Employee's equaled 2, cool and a waitress. She was doing dishes and he was cooking. Well upon coming to this location I was greeted with " Welcome To Waffle House" which to me when walking into a small restaurant or restaurant period or somewhere is always nice, it makes you feel welcomed. Well I walked in sat down and right away I had a server asking me what I would like to drink and if I knew what I would like for breakfast/lunch. Which again to me that's another plus. So I asked for a minute and went ahead and ordered me an orange juice which by the way is very cold at this particular location. Then I placed my order how I wanted it and it kinda surprised me that the waitress said "you know we never had it ordered like that but we will definitely make that happen" to me another plus. Oh Waffle House you haven't changed a bit and that is both good and bad. Where else are you going to go for your drunk food when there isn't a Dennys though? I was visiting my cousin and after the bar we decided to grab a bite to eat. I ordered an ice tea and the chicken sandwich with cheese and bacon and home fries with cheese. Our food arrived after a bit and I opened my sandwich to put the mayo on it and there is a huge hair stuck to the cheese on the bun. The server immediately took it away to get me a new one. She was kind enough to put my home fries on another plate so I could eat something while I waited. The cheese on the home fries was a kraft cheese slice melted in a perfect square at the middle of the home fries. The chicken sandwich was just ok and the cheese was very cheese wiz esq. When you have no options I guess this is an option and the people watching is worth 5 stars. read more

I came here after a very traumatic night in my life with my mother and we had breakfast and had a good talk. This WF is so-so. Every time we go in there, it is dirty! Tonight we went there and our bill said$47.00! We knew it wasn't correct so my husband went to pay and asked the cashier to recalculate our bill. I added it up in my head and it came to $27.00. She came back and said it was $37.00. I ask to see a menu to recalculate because it was still too high. She rudely said,"they are on the tables!" We cashed out and I calculated all the prices and it came out to be $27.80. Please do not eat here. I was here on September 30, 2017 around 1:30 am after a wedding reception. This place was so close to our hotel, and we were hungry again. While we were waiting on our food to be cooked a ROACH crawled on my friend while we were at the table. We immediately got up and away from that table. I went to one of the employees asking for a manger. One of the ladies said they do not have a manger on duty during night shifts and asked me what was wrong. I told her "that a roach had crawled on my friend while we were sitting at the table ". The employee asked "if it was a big roach". I said does it matter what size it was a roach is a roach and that a health concern. One of the employees behind her said "I just work here". I told the lady we do not want the food that they were cooking for us. This place obviously has roaches that they are aware of. I will be calling the health department because this location has German roaches in their facility. This is disgusting that they were not concern at all that a roach just crawled on someone while waiting for food. Mind you the roach crawled from other side they were cooking from . So today was, my first experience going to a Waffle House and in all places in La Porte Texas. I found myself in a B movie in a hot western town along a major highway with dust in the air and truckers all around me. I actually found it to be very frightening, the cold tile floors, and the weird people behind the counter, aspirin-colored lighting, and the dark film of grease that formed on my face within minutes of being there. The waffle House cuisine seems to be typically some iteration of carbs fried in lard and powdered in sugar, then rubbed in hog grease. In my mind I could see a group of friends coming there after church and have a grand old time sharing Bible verses as they send forkfuls of butter covered scrambled eggs sliding down their gullet before going to WalMart. The waitress Latoya was straight out of a tawdry David Lynch movie, slow as molasses and a stare of nothingness while she got nothing correct in my order even after I told her twice; two eggs over easy, home fries diced, with bacon. The other people working behind the counter were somehow moving in slow motion and seemingly unaware of the world constantly driving past them. But I feel it incumbent upon myself to caution you that as with all our guilty pleasures eating at Waffle House is way up there. It truly was an experience. read more

We have been faithful patrons of this restaurant for close to 10 years, since we've lived in the area. I kid you not when I say my 3 and 5 year olds beg to go to Waffle House, it's their most favorite place to eat. Sadly, yesterday will be our last visit here. To make a long traumatic story short, I took my 3 and 5 year olds to the bathroom when we were nearing the end of our meal. My 5 year old wanted to wash her hands because they were sticky from syrup, when she went to get soap, the entire soap dispenser came off the wall and the liquid soap that inside splashed everywhere; all over her head, INCLUDING IN HER EYES, all over her clothes and all over the floor. I immediately knew this was going to be bad, and she immediately started screaming from the pain that she was enduring due to the soap in her eyes. I rushed out of the bathroom into the restaurant and yelled at the cook and 1 waitress on duty asking if they had a first aid kit, and asked for an eye wash solution, which is in most decent first aid kids. They both stared at me and didn't say a word. There was an elder couple (probably 60's) and a gentleman in the restaurant at the time. I rushed back to the restroom to help my child any way that I could. I attempted to put her head under the faucet to wash out her eyes and had to cup water in my hands to wash out her eyes. The waitress finally comes in with a glass of water that she proceeds to pour over my baby's face. Still, my child is screaming and crying in pain. I clean her up as best as I could, her clothes were drenched in soap and water. We exited the restroom, I grabbed our ticket and went to pay. Not one word was spoken by either of the 2 employees except the waitress when she exited the restroom says "we're going to have to squeegee the bathroom". Not one single apology or offer of help from no one in the restaurant. People suck. A mother by herself with two small children trying to deal with an unfortunate event as best as she can and not one person offers any sort of assistance, nothing. No help, no is your child ok, nothing! This may seem dramatic, but the entire situation could have been handled so much better by the employees. The restaurant was pathetic. The manager that I called from the parking lot was at least very concerned, asked if my daughter was ok, suggested I take her to the ER or an urgent care to get her eyes looked at, and apologized repeatedly. I filed a complaint with corporate, received a phone call the next morning from the regional manager, he asked how my daughter was, told me he personally installed a new dispenser that very morning, to replace the faulty one and get this.... says he wants to make it up to me and offers a meal for my family on the house. Are you kidding me?!?!?! Your restaurant offered me no sort of assistance whatsoever while me and my children were in obvious distress, didn't have a first aid kit, had a broken soap dispenser which I'm sure employees and possibly management were well aware of, I doubt soap could have been refilled without it being noticed and falling off the wall, no apologies, nothing and you are offering me a meal worth a whopping $20 value for my family. They can shove their complimentary meal where the sun don't shine!!!! Sorry excuse for a restaurant, employees, and regional manager. The solution provided by this corporation was absolutely pathetic. Oh and the toast they served to my 3 and 5 year olds was burnt, who burns toast and serves it to paying customers?! read more
