The customer service was super friendly from the moment I walked in. So friendly, in fact, that I kept saying yes to all the suggestions! The food was cooked perfectly, although I have to admit the biscuit was a bit of a disappointment. What really made this place memorable, though, was the server. I didn't get her name, but she was the older lady, and she was fantastic. The little things made a big impression. Earlier, I had asked for Sweet'N Low, and without me even asking, she brought me sugar-free syrup with my meal. That's the sign of a seasoned waitress--she was paying attention and knew exactly what I would want. Great service can make an average meal memorable, and she definitely did that here. Waffle House has become an iconic presence on the culinary landscape here in the southeastern United States. It seems that their familiar logo beckons in all of its bright yellow neon glory road-weary travelers, partying college kids, parents with kids in tow, hungry workers seeking a casual and quick sit-down meal and just about everyone else from every walk of life. Since Waffle House opened its first location back on September 5, 1955 in Avondale Estates, Georgia, it quickly established itself by offering a consistent selection of food and by being open twenty-four hours a day. For me, the biggest appeal of Waffle House has always been their hash browns, which you can get basic or topped with a variety of toppings such as chili, white sausage gravy, cheese, ham, onions and so many more items and you can combine these toppings in a multitude of ways. For my main course, I have usually gone with their patty melts or one of their egg breakfast options. I myself can see the strangeness that I have never had a waffle in a business where waffle is in their very name, but I prefer a more savory breakfast than a sweet one. This particular location overall was a positive experience. The service was friendly and the food was good, especially those hash browns. If you are in the southeast United States, odds are you have probably passed a Waffle House location. It seems that they are on almost every major highway exit ramp and strategically placed throughout most cities and towns in the southeast. If you see one, give them a try. read more

Avoid this location at all costs. Last week we experienced generally lackluster, room-temperature food, brought out in stages (i.e., one item almost finished eating before the next item made it off the stove to our booth.) There were two other customers at 2PM on a weekday. The cook was trying, i think, but the "server" was the surliest, rudest, dismissive little girl imaginable. All food items were delivered to our table with an "I-don't-give-a-shit" attitude. We had to request everything: butter, jelly, silverware, pepper, Tabasco, and all were bammed down on the table. Several tables had remaindered food and dirty dishes sitting out. The "server" didn't bother to clean up, as she was too damned busy texting on her phone and giggling like an 8th grade mean-girl. This place is the pits. "Dining" At a Waffle House is always a crap shoot, not knowing whether everything will go well, or go straight down the toilet like this location is famous for. The worst Waffle House I've ever been to and I'm a Truck Driver of 28 years and have been to Waffle Houses all over the Country. I've been to this location 3 times to place to go orders. Only once was I able to place my order. One time I tried, they told me that they couldn't place to go orders. I was the only customer there. The other time they refused to do a to go order, there was only one customer, besides me, in the restaurant. I only wanted to get my food and take it to my hotel room across the street and enjoy my meal in peace. read more

My husband and I walked in and were informed that there was a system outage and that they were not taking any more orders. We politely said we are in no rush and waited about 10 minutes for the system to come back up. After the system issue was resolved and it was working we asked if we could order at which point the hostess stated ,"I'm not taking any more to go orders for the night". The service and attitude we received was very sub par, even for a Waffle House. We decided to go to the next closest store in Lagrange, about 20 minutes in the opposite direction of our home and was satisfied with our experience there. read more

Came to this Waffle House after driving 5 hours wanting some coffee for the rest of my ride. As I get out of my car a employee tells me they are closed. It's 4 o'clock in the morning and there were three employees standing outside smoking. I asked where they were closed and was told because they were short staffed. I worked for Waffle House for 13 years you don't close the Waffle House. Especially if you have three employees at 4 AM in the morning very disappointed. read more

Let me just say our server Mya was AWFUL. However, Sara, a server in training and the gentleman cooking, Marquel, literally saved the day Our server never gave us utensils, never provided Marquel with our order. She messed up all the orders for the four tables that were there and both Marquel and Sara had to run around and fix everything while she walked around giving everyone, patrons included, major attitude. We stopped here on the way to Auburn, AL for the Auburn/Georgia game from Atlanta. Yelp didn't let us down. The All Star Breakfast was a big winner, despite the fact that the Tigers lost. As far as Waffle Houses go, this place was as clean as it gets, and that goes for the patrons too. If you ever find yourself looking for a quick-fix breakfast, it doesn't get much better than Awful Waffle. Stopped here on My lunch break. I received my food fairly fast. Only saw my water three times my whole visit. To take my order, bring my food and then my check. I never received my drink. I have worked in the food business before. Before they hand you, your check they should look it over and make sure you received everything you ordered. And they should always ask if you would like anything else. It's a shame that people only work their for money. And not take of their customers that is willing to leave a good tip. read more

The staff here is very friendly, including one of the cooks. If you go in there with kids and order a waffle, he'll make it into Mickey Mouse, Spongebob, or even dinosaurs!
